Phantom refuses and saying he's a supervillian not a lost puppy.

Turns out this was a part of Bruces plan however as Phantom now sees people all over tv talking about him and the Waynes and already considering him a new member of the family. They're even asking when there will be a face reveal. There was a reason he was wearing a mask! He. Is.. A. Villian. What about that do these people not get?!

Sure he doesn't kill people. Or hurt people at all really. Or steal from small family owned businesses. Or...yeah ok. Just because you're a bad guy doesn't mean you have to be a bad guy, ya know? Apparently Gotham doesn't.

Idk, if I was Danny and I just found out that I was ghost king, the first thing I would do is install ghost therapy. Like I know the ghosts are compelled to fulfill their obsessions but there gotta be healthier and less destructive ways to do it.

Like Skulker for example, he could become a detective and hunt for missing persons instead of, you know, trying to skin a child. Or Ember could make a fucking Spotify or something idk.

The second thing I would do is make Clockwork do the worm.

Danny, ghost king and therapist

So I was supposed to post this on Ao3 but it isn't complete enough for that, so here you go! You're welcome to take this and make it longer. Please tag me if you do though, I'd love to read it.

Danny had expected a lot of things when he was crowned Ghost King.

He had expected paperwork, he had expected learning a lot of new things and having to break up fights between kingdoms.

He had expected fighting to go down by a lot due to his new laws, and he had expected a lot of hate for being half-human.

He had not expected to have to schedule times where Ghosts were allowed to bother him in school for therapy sessions and relationship advice.

But now he was seriously thinking about it.

Ember was standing right there, in front of every one of his classmates, and she was crying.

She was bawling actually, and she kept going, one hand on the teacher’s desk as she continued to sob.

“What do we do?” Danny heard someone whisper, and not for the first time in that class he wished Tucker and Sam were there.

“Danny!” Ember finally shouted, and every single person in the class snapped their heads towards him, he felt himself sink further into his chair without thinking about it.

“Yeah?” he managed to weakly say, looking at Mr Lancers direction.

“You’re the king, can’t you like, I don’t know, banish him?” she asked, wobbling over to his desk before falling over it and grabbing both of his hands.

He looked at her wide-eyed.

What was he supposed to do now? Clearly, everyone had heard her, and it wasn’t like he could pretend she was wrong! She was clearly distressed and in need of someone, so, with a sigh, Danny resigned himself to his fate.

He pat her hair, making soft shushing noises.

“What did Skulker do this time?” he asked with a sigh, growing increasingly uncomfortable with the looks his classmates were giving him.

“He-” she stopped herself, as another sob wrecked its way through her body.

“It’s okay Ember, take your time,” he said.

Paulina and Star were staring at him with wide eyes, and he could feel Dash glaring at him, this was going to be fun to explain.

“He hasn’t texted me back for ten days! And I know it’s cause of that stupid hunt, why you even allowed for it I’ll never know, but, I’m important too, you know?” she looked at him, her eyes filled with so much sadness he almost forgot about the fact that she had appeared at school and ruined his cover.

The hunt was a small gathering Danny had let take place, it was supposed to last for a couple days where he had made some ectoplasm animals that they were allowed to hunt for sport, it was to breed comradery with a bit of friendly competition, it would also serve as to take off the edge for some of the more blood-thirsty ghosts as he continued to work on the new legislation that was supposed to make it illegal for ghosts to attack humans at night.

“It was supposed to be over days ago, why are they still continuing?” Danny frowned, he had made it so it would last three days max, how were they still not done?

“What do you mean? He said it would take at least a month.” Ember frowned as well, and for a second they just looked at each other, confused.

Then she started sobbing again, “He lied to me!?” she shouted in between her sobs, clinging on to Danny as she used his shirt as a tissue.

“It’s okay Ember, he doesn’t deserve you anyway,” he said, sounding like he really meant it.

Paulina came up behind Danny, and for a second he tensed, ready to take a hit or start a fight to protect her, but all Paulina did was bring a chair and drape herself over Ember as she muttered reaffirming words.

“Danny’s right,” Star said, coming up behind him, “Skulker doesn’t deserve you, you are beautiful and talented and you have the greatest voice I have ever heard! He should be so lucky as to have you,” she said, crossing her arms.

“I’ll speak to him about this, but I can’t just… banish him,” Danny said, trying to give her a smile that made her feel better.

She pouted, clearly not happy, but she definitely felt better now than she had when she first entered the classroom.

So, nodding, she flew away and back to the Ghost Zone.

Danny sighed, leaning back in his chair as he rolled his shoulders, great, another thing to do on top of his already busy schedule.

“Care to explain?” Paulina asked, eying him up.

“Not really, no,” Danny said with a shrug, and then the class continued, like nothing had ever happened.

Kinda.

The next time it happened, he was alone again, Sam was in another class and Tucker was sick, so Danny was left to deal with it alone.

Great.

“Tell Ember, that she can’t just keep running to you every time we fight,” Skulker said, crossing his arms as he floated above everyone in the science class.

Great.

“Should’ve thought of that before you lied to her!” Paulina shouted at him, and Danny smiled, happy that his classmates were defending his people.

“Quiet missy,” Skulker sneered, clearly unhappy with having a human yell at him.

“She’s right, you know.” Danny levelled him with a glare, “Why did you lie to her?”

Skulker, to his credit, did look guilty.

“I just wanted a chance to hang out with my boys,” he murmured, looking almost sheepish.

“You could have done that without the lying,” Danny pointed out, earning murmurs of agreement, especially from the female students.

“She always gets so annoyed when I start asking to hang out with my friends, this was much easier.” he shrugged, all of his sheepishness vanishing.

“You still should’ve told the truth, the reason you guys keep breaking up is because of your abysmal communication skills,” Danny said, crossing his arms, “And you shouldn’t have used the hunt to excuse it, now I might just not make a new one, this could’ve been a yearly thing you know, now, I’m not so sure,” Danny said, casually shrugging as he glared at Skulker.

“I didn’t do anything!” he said, sounding like he genuinely believed he didn’t do anything.

“I get that you want to be with your friends, but you have to be honest with her about that.” Danny shrugged, looking at Skulker one last time before waving him away.

He left with a sigh.

TikTok vs Wes

Danny had gotten TikTok a long time ago, back when it was still called Musicaly and it was a dumb app with dances, back before it became Vines younger sister.

He had never thought he would use it like this though.

He stared at the video, two million likes and counting.

It was unbelievable.

He had originally made an account for Phantom for fun, so he could post comments about his death without ruining anything, but then he stumbled upon Wes’s account, where he apparently posted conspiracy theories, some of them about him and Phantom being the same person!

It was too good of an opportunity to ignore.

The first video had just been him, as Danny, using the “Vennessa, I’m a material gurrl!” audio.

It showed Danny, acting very annoyed as text on screen said ‘Wes, why are you telling people me and Danny Phantom are the same person?’ before the camera changed angle and Danny in a cheap orange wig said the material girl line.

It was a dumb video, not even that good, but somehow it got 10000 views.

Danny didn’t care, it was a one-off, it was just to make fun of Wes.

But he had fun making that video, he had fun looking at the comments, and seeing the likes… maybe he became an addict.

Wes posted a response video to that, providing more proof and such.

Danny responded by using the ‘stop acting like a fucking hooligan’ sound.

But then… then he decided that it would be more fun to play around.

Danny made his magnum opus.

It started with Danny, casually sitting on his office chair, different posters and constellations behind him.

He had an ease to him that his classmates rarely got to see, just sitting there, slowly spinning on his chair.

“Sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now, why?” the Danny on screen raised a brow, a confident smile on his lips that was used more in battles than in his daily life.

“Cause she’s dead.” the camera shook and for a millisecond everything was dark, until the unearthly green glow of Phantom appeared, an identical smile on his face as he mouthed Look what you made me do.

He had gone all out, wearing the fiery crown so there would be a little more light in the video, he had also worn his cape and made sure that his eyes would shine a bit brighter than normal.

To be ekstra annoying, Danny had tagged Wes in the video and uploaded it onto Phantom’s account.

People. Went. Wild.

The video now had three million likes, Danny watched the numbers climb with an obsessive glint.

If he didn’t know any better, he’d almost think this was his ghostly obsession.

He set up for another video, filming himself as Phantom.

The rooftop was quiet and it was shaping up to be a mostly normal week.

“Shoot, even Janice and I have been getting closer lately!” the audio said, then Danny paused it, looking around to see if any ghosts were out and about.

He spotted Skulker and immediately lit up.

“Skulker! I need your help,” he said, flying up to him.

“Who says I’ll help you?”

“Ever heard of TikTok?” he asked, jumping to the explanation before the convincing.

“In passing,” Skulker said, begrudgingly, like he knew a lot more than he was willing to let on.

“I need to film a video, and I just need you to lip sync the words ‘I mistook him for a trashcan’ can you do that?” he hadn’t meant to hit him where it hurt, he knew Skulker hated to be underestimated and treated like he couldn’t do something, but in the end it helped him, so did he really care?

Skulker did the video and it immediately blew up.

Phantom now had millions of followers and was getting recognition outside of Amity, and Danny was becoming obsessed.

He needed to find more sounds so he could make more videos.

He was just glad it was the weekend so he had lots of time to come up with more ideas.

The opportunity presented itself when he was scrolling through his feed and came across a video using the ‘maybe we got lost in translation’ audio.

He flew to an abandoned building to record the video.

The next day millions of people had watched it.

Danny Phantom can clearly be seen, he’s pretending to speak as the words ‘I’m a dead teenager who spends his time as a superhero to make sure my city is safe,” then the camera moved over to Phantom, but looking towards the left side with the text “oh, so you’re this random teenager who shares a first name with you!” before panning back to the first Phantom who then says “Maybe we got lost in translation” in time with the audio.

It wasn’t super creative, but within the first day millions had liked it and the itch to post something had been momentarily sated.

Wes clenched his phone tighter, staring down at the screen.

He was being publicly mocked and ridiculed.

He had recently posted a video on TikTok using the ‘it’s under the sauce’ audio to debunk people’s first comments to the fact that Phantom and Fenton were the same person, and in response, both Fenton and Phantom had posted videos with the same audio mocking him!

This meant war.

Wes posted another vision, using pictures and videos to try and get people to believe.

Fenton responded with an audio going “this may be a personal question so feel free not to answer, but, were you by chance homeschool by a pigeon?”.

Phantom posted another video with the help of a ghost, Ember, this time.

It showed Him, with text saying ‘me trying to have a healthy work-death balance and make sure I’m eating, sleeping and able to run the Ghost Zone’ and a hand around his throat.

The camera jerked and showed Ember mouthing the words ‘I’m the one to beat, yeah’ as text saying ‘Ghost’s looking for a fight’.

In the background you could see the Fenton's building and Wes filed it away as evidence.
