Watching Boo York Boo York and I'm thinking about a Candle Cove Musical. Everything would have a sea shanty vibe but would probably be catchy, especially the villains' songs.

Like- Imagine Percy pulling a Mirabel and singing about how he wants to be brave or Skin-Taker singing about how evil he is with a verse that hints to his old life. Hell, maybe there's a duet or two. And Susan's a siren, you know she'd be perfect for a musical.

Shipping in the Candle Cove can be wild-

I remember when Milo X Percy was popular, dark days indeed, and in wiki comments had some ... Interesting ship ideas.

Ones like Horace X Skin-Taker and any of the characters x Percy are so obvious (Percy seems like the character that gets shipped with everyone) but I'm sure there's a hook.

And then there's my OTP who have likely never met and if they have, never actually interacted but I hate Milo and Sariah deserves better so I ship her with Sunny anyway.

Remember how I pitched Candle Cove the Musical?

You know they're going to have a "We Don't Talk About Bruno" style song mixed with sea shanties about Skin-Taker or hell, about Red Mary.

Percy is trying to get them all to shut up if it's about Red Mary as you know he's legit scared to talk about her.

Janice is the Mirabel just asking questions.

On Lillian being there for Thade's ark: It actually works when you consider Thade was technically mistreated in the past and Lillian genuinely showed him care and maybe love. Again, that alone, given context, tells you a basic summary of her character. And when you consider that Skin-Taker spares Auburn due to her being Lillian's daughter (and maybe his) says a lot about him and does help them build a relationship as they track down Red Mary.

Auburn is also pretty good for a female character in the time Candle Cove is meant to have been written in. Hell, I'd compare to Gosalyn Mallard in Darkwing Duck, in the best way: Fierce and strong but clearly aware that, despite being independent, that she can't do it alone. They're actually good characters if analysed deeper, like many characters such as Percy, Susan or Skin-Taker himself and I feel people are missing that.

Ik I will get hate for this but...this is just my super duper mega biased (idk what that means but ok) opinion sooooo...

I unfortunately don't like it when some people in the fandom would say stuff like "oh wow Lillian and auburn are rlly generic and the designs are awful..." Like, that's the point? Candle cove is literally a low budget cheap ass show. Of course they are gonna be generic and badly made in the show and cartoon pilot. Along with the personalities, people would often say stuff likeeee "they are so plain and dull in personality". Yea, so is a few characters from the show itself that I don't personally love or hate but..ok then, along with some episodes that looked like filler to me. The whole point of the lillain and auburn being basic and stuff is because the whole franchise they were in was extremely low budget and the creators have to rush some ideas in for grimes to calm tf down cuz he be cray cray in all.

So yea, this was my poorly made defense of lillain and auburn, not because of favoritism, but because I get bothered by things alot and stuff haha. I don't intend harm into anyone who thinks differently because this was just my silly personal opinion, but no srs, don't harm anyone who does this, because like I said, it's just a personal opinion of mine. I find my hcs very interesting sometimes. Like Sunny being more fleshed out or Dr. Heartfelt being able to stare Cthulhu in the eyes with zero fear. I give these characters specific traumas or specific "abilities", building some of them from the ground up.

And then I have shitpost-esq ones or very self-indulgent ones like half of the main cast being creative or Milo being obsessed with space. I just point at them and go "hehehehe, funny" and shake them like a ferret.

Horace can clearly hide his hand well enough for it to look like he's got a hook for a hand instead of it being the detached weapon it is so, and because he's a goofy guy, he would be the kinda guy to have oversized coats and hit people with his sleeves. Janice, Percy, Joe and Bubba would do this too, it's their vibe.

Candle Cove's world would be such a great setting for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. A lot of the creatures inhabiting the Abyssal Kingdom helps make things interesting

Candle Cove fandom, we have a significant lack of ship names. I would like to propose some though because I want to make things easier. Feel free to suggest some. Here are my favourites with their ships.

The Jekyll and Hyde musical song "The World Has Gone Insane" is just Thade turning into Skin-Taker.

My Candle Cove obsession died for like- a couple or so years? And came back swinging-

Candle cove works as a hyperfixation where it dies down for abt a month and then I think of a puppet and it actually decks me on sight and the cycle continues

If the Rubberfishes drink nothing but rum, how are they not dead??

Like, there's no way they're healthy, all that alcohol would kill them. I feel exceptions would be Sunny (because she seems very prideful tbh), Kurt (he's a cat, milk literally makes him sick so alcohol would be worse) and Skin-Taker. No clue why other than vibes.

But seriously, they must be health disasters.

Things I think about more than I should:

Thade being both a tailor and a model. Someone tries to hire him and the entire tarantula crew is like "yeah, no, he's ours"

Calvery meeting Nathan and it being like Snufkin meeting the children in the 90's moomins. "But Poppy, I don't know anything about children, I'm not sure I even like them-"

Sunny at a gay bar. That's it, that's the idea.
