(name) let out a shaky breath as he waited for his husband to show up, dressed in his nicest suit he knew the other loved before finally giving up, leaving a nice tip to the waiter who had to wait on you and going home.
(Name) wanted to cry as he sat in the private car, looking at the article 'BEN HARGREEVES SPOTTED AT CLUB' before clicking it off and looking at the fast moving city and feeling hopeless.
What did he do to deserve to be treated like this?
He wasn't sure exactly when Ben became colder to him, he guestimates a few months give or take.
He didn't even kiss him before bed or say I love you.
This was the final blow for (name), the poor man just wanting to spend his anniversary with the man who promised him his heart only to be stood up and left with the feeling of abandonment.
He didn't notice to paperazzi snapping pictures of him when he stepped out and walked into the house in a zombie like fashion, eyes empty and sad as he walked to his and his husband's room, the two taking a larger room in the house and staring at the shared space, it felt so empty.
His heart was heavy as he fiddled with his ring, staring into nothing in particular while mumbling to himself as tears rolled down his cheeks against his will.
He barely processed himself grabbing a suitcase and packing his prized possessions and the necessary things before sneaking out the back, avoiding any possible people.
"Where are you going?" Fei's voice rang behind him and (name) felt a new wave of sadness as he turned to his sister-in-law and gave a sad smile "he stood me up at dinner... I'm staying at a hotel for a while, gather my thoughts..." (Name) said in a strained voice "please no despite everything I see you nothing less than my sister..."
Walking away he left a fuming Fei, the woman couldn't believe the audacity of her brother having grown quite attached to (name), the man seeing them less as these untouchable entities but more like people.
Her first interaction with him was actually him trying to give one of her crow's shiny things to try and become friends with them not knowing the birds were her.
She liked how kind he was to birds.
So she wasn't afraid to come to his defence when Ben was being a complete dillweed to him.
When Ben stumbled into the house, he was a bit shit faced as he walked into him and (name)s room and it took a minute for him to realize his husband wasn't sleeping soundly on his side of the bed.
Sobering up a bit he stepped out and began searching for the spots his husband usually could be found and became stressed when he couldn't find him.
"Looking for (name)?" Fei spoke out, her Crow's watching all of her brothers movements since he got home "he left since you decided to actually care about him"
"I do care about him! And what do you mean leave?!"
"Do you know what day it is?"
"It's Tuesday?" What did the date have to do with anything?
"Try again"
Ben tried to think on it before realizing what day it was... "The dinner"
"He booked it seven months ago because he knew it was your favorite place and yet you stood him up" Fei said coldly as she crossed her arms "treated him like common trash, so tell me" she took a step forward and if she had eyes she would be glaring at him dead.
"Were you cheating on him?"
Ben was floored at her accusation "of course I wasn't!"
"Then why would you toss him to the side like he was trash?!"
Ben was fuming, he was so pissed at Fei for calling him out but more upset at himself...how could he do that to (name)?
"Where is he?"
Fei scoffed at him, the audacity of this man.
"Seeing him now is a terrible idea, check the cameras yourself to see just what you did"
And with that she was gone.
Ben stood frozen for a moment before rushing to the camera room, desperately rewinding a few hours back and watching (name) look so heart broken and defeated.
Because of him.
He did that.
He hurt and drove away the one person who saw through his cold exterior and loved him despite his many, many flaws.
(Name) stayed in the hotel all day, do not disturb on the door handle as he lay in bed still in the suit and unable to cry anymore.
He kept the ring on, not being able to bring himself to take it off despite the pain the other caused him, the fond memories making his chest tighten and brought pain.
"Please go away, the sign says do not disturb..." (Name) mumbled as the door opened, staring at a wall but when the person didn't go away he turned to look at the person who broke into their room to see Ben standing uncomfortable and ragged like he hadn't slept.
That made two of them.
(Name) was at a loss for words as he stared at his husband, a new wave of tears rolling down his cheeks and wrapped the thick duvet around himself looking down as ben walked towards him and the warmth of his hand he craved so much gently wiped away a tear from bus cheek "please baby, please look at me" Ben was only ever soft with his husband, the love of his life was the only person to ever see him with his defences down.
(Name) struggled but made eye contact with him before a sob ripped out of him as he stared at the love of his life "shhh come on breathe for me angel" Ben's voice rang through (name)s body as he pulled (name) close, kissing his head and eventually after give or take an hour (name) slowly calmed down to speak "what did I do..?"
He blamed himself?
Ben felt his heart break at this as (name) asked what he could do to make Ben love him again.
"Baby, I love you.. please don't change" Ben practically begged his husband and began apologizing profusely "please let me make this right"
"One chance/I'm sorry..."

(My dad is Arab and I tried to learn it. You want to make a word plural? Ok, there are 16 different ways to do it and no rules to know when to use it. Memorize the plural and singular and that’s it. It’s bs.)
(Also, you leanr standard but no one speaks that, they speak slang and it’s horrible. But I do know some)
Sometimes care packages from family will show up for some of them. It’s often books, foods specific to that region, and photos of family/important moments.
