ORC CULTURE !!!!!1!1!!!!!
Minor spoilers for Ep7 of trop?
Is anyone else going to lose their mind with me at the fact that trop just gave us a little hint of Orcish culture- which is way more than Tolkien ever gave us. Orc funerals !! They mourn !!!! They gather in silence to watch the last remnants of their kins' beings leaving the world !!!!!! I am going insane !!!!!!!!
That's not even mentioning the expansion of Black Speech- which Tolkien wasn't even interested in developing further than a few dozen words. Apparently he simply lost interest in his dedicated and painstaking explorations of culture and language when it came to the Orcs, so we were just left with a big gaping void- which was filled in the case of Elves and Men (Dwarves to alesser extent) with rich cultural history and nigh-speakable languages.
I'm just happy that the show has filled in a tiny bit of the blank space, and made the lore all the richer for it.

I could think of literally nothing else but Ollie and Tom while I was tutoring some kids and when they wifi was being buggy and they had to restart I scrolled the oliver cromwell tags
and I kept doing so until I went to church for a youth gathering and while we were reading the Book of Revelation I had one of my own and it was very unholy. Basically, in a most definitely alternate universe despite it being the same world and timeline as ours what if Cromwell and Fairfax were really gay and Cromwell had so much religious guilt over it and that's why he acted so puritan (outwardly) and imposed those harsh rules on England. Which makes no sense(?) so um

Zuko finds out Katara was parentified from the age of eight and was a single mom friend of three until he stumbled into the position of gaang dad friend. So when she visits the Fire Nation Zuko dotes on her, making sure her every need is anticipated and catered to. He even goes as far as - to the horror of his council - kneeling to remove her shoes.
Because of this she earns the nickname Lady Katara among the palace staff which she finds amusing but a little confusing. So one day over tea she asks Iroh why they call her that and he explains:
"They're just practicing."
"Why would you need to practice a nickname?"
"Well my dear, they expect that within a few years Fire will preceed it."
And that's about when Katara chokes on her tea.
A thing about comic book covers and movie posters that I’ve always found hilarious is that you have:
Your standard male superhero poses: action shots, brooding shots, typically forward facing, stoic and heroic
Then you have one of your typical female superhero poses: a coy over the shoulder look with plenty of side boob and ass, objectifying and unnecessary
And then you have Bucky Barnes.
Like I know that they do this to show off his arm, but I chose to believe that someone in the graphic design department at Marvel is just extremely horny and needs Bucky’s ass on every poster

Since I hadnt seen this brought up I just wanted to point out that, whether intentionally or just by coincidence, all 3 of the Barrow-Campbells have names of famous European royalty
Obviously there’s been countless kings named Henry and George, with more notable examples being George II and Henry VIII. Then you’ve got the Queen of the French Revolution herself, Marie Antoinette.
I have no idea if this was intentional or not but it’s a pretty cool naming convention. If Henry had been a girl she might’ve been named Victoria or Elizabeth. Or Catherine. Then again it’s pretty clear in-universe that Henry was named after George’s role in the school play, so most likely if Henry was a girl she would’ve been named after Marie’s role (I think it was Anne? Though Anne was also a queen lol, so still fits!)
Also worth noting Marie Antoinette also had her first kid super young so there’s that
