"Mr. Kwama, wouldn't you like some more of my delicious mud tea?"
That's what I imagine Dunmer kids are doing in their free time - throwing tea parties for all of Morrowind's eldricht horrors!

Art featuring Rheavie, the adorable OC of @katastronoot.
I got the inspiration from one reblog tag of @downontheupside #Ahhgudhdud i love how the kid looks like they just want to go back to playing with bugs outside instead of seeing dessicated ghostly grandpa
And obviously this iconic photo:

Poison Maple
-----
In a swamp, there was a Rosy Maple Moth creature sitting and leaning on a brick wall, talking to something or someone. The moth had blue skin with purple splotches around her face, a bit of green on the tips of her fingers and ears, a fluffy collar that was yellow and pink, light pink hair that reached her mid back with matching wings and a fluffy tail as well. She wore a red crop top with a brown corset with the sides having some holes in them, her pants being dark brown and her thigh high boots being black. Her eyes were blood red, the irises a white color and her antennas red and transparent.
"People keep asking 'Oh, but why ingest poison? It's sooooo bad for you, it could kill you!' I know that, you think I just started eating poison right off the bat? No! I took it little by little! It tasted so good but eating more than I could handle hurt my stomach, it was sooooo annoying!" The Rosy Maple Moth complained to the creature behind the wall, who was watching through the hole.
"That truly sounds frustrating... What did you do with those who asked, hmm?" The voice behind the wall asked.
"I ate them! I didn't want to hear their voices anymore, so annoying! They didn't even taste that good! No poison or venom, nothing!" The bloody moth huffed as she crossed her arms, her fur getting ruffled in her annoyance.
"Do tell, just HOW did you become so obsessed with poison?" The voice, who belonged to a spider creature, asked.
"It started with a mushroom... A simple, inconspicuous mushroom. I ate it. I got high, like, sooooo high! And when I woke up, I felt pretty crappy. But the kick that mushroom had... it was exhilirating! I felt excited, so alive!" Gin, the moth, exclaimed as her wings flapped at the memory. "Back when I was a harmless moth, I was so shy... SO scared to take the risk of anything... But after that mushroom, I saw there was so much to the world, so many things that could make me feel alive, I had to find more!"
"Prefer the you that you are now I assume?" The spider chuckled.
"Of course I do. I am not afraid anymore! I am not a weak moth anymore! Others fear ME now!" The moth said, her eyes widening as her mouth turned into a wide, sharp smile, drooling a bit as she looked crazed.
"Ahhh, bringing others fear really is the best feeling~" The spider, Eclipse, said, grinning behind the wall.
"Truly... I'm getting hungry." Gin said as her fur got ruffled up.
"Do bring something for me for when you hunt, sugarfly..." Eclipse said.
"Of course!" The moth said as she stood up before flying off to hunt.
The spider smiled behind his prison. How fun to have a fellow maniac like himself around...

I wanted to make it longer but this all I could come up with!
Swamp Things AU belongs to @missterious-figure! I tried my best to write Eclipse as accurate as possible, I apologize if it ain't!
Gin the Bloody Rosy Maple Moth be mine!
oh my gosh they were roommates
Rare images of a leafcutter bee sharing its nest with a wolfspider:

These photographs were taken in Queensland, Australia, by an amateur photographer named Laurence Sanders.

The leafcutter bee (Megachile macularis) can be seen fetching freshly-cut leaves, which she uses to line the inner walls of her nest. The wolfspider moves aside, allowing the bee to enter the nest, and then simply watches as the leaf is positioned along the inner wall.

After inspecting the nest together, they return to their resting positions -- sitting side-by-side in the entryway to the nest.
The bee seems completely at ease in the presence of the wolfspider, which is normally a voracious predator, and the spider seems equally unfazed by the fact that it shares its burrow with an enormous bee.
This arrangement is completely unheard of, and the images are a fascinating sight to behold.

I love the thought you've put into this, both in terms of variety of critters, but also making them all interesting and varied in terms of game mechanics. There's a few I'm sad to see not in there, but most of them have a counterpart that is either more obvious (Mantis > Mantidfly), or would work better mechanically (much as I love amblygygids, uropygids would work better in this context).
Only other suggestions I'd have are maybe carpenter bees (or heck, Wallace's giant bee), but they run the risk of being OP what with flight, sting, and powerful mandibles, or solpugids because, heck, they're awesome (maybe final boss :D)
scenario: youve been tasked with picking the roster of an arthropod fighting game. theres only 10 slots. what 10 species do you pick
Dragon Mantis: a mantis is obligatory in general and this is one of the flashiest.
Bird Eating Spider: the largest tarantula also feels like a given, for a kind of slower tankish fighter with venom, webbing, and urticating hairs. Could also have moves incorporating a goliath spider's pet frogs :)
Cuckoo Wasp: a wasp is a given too but I pick this for being pretty and being able to roll up into an armored little ball.
Darwin's Beetle: mostly because people would just demand one of the armored big-horned beetles and I think this is the coolest looking one. Even slower than the tarantula with few gimmicks but very durable.
House Centipede: they're infamous for looking weird, there should be at least one myriapod and it could be a good "glass cannon" fighter because they're pretty delicate and drop their legs easily. Could actually shed a led to escape any grapple type attacks until it runs out of them.
Ant Queen: slow and vulnerable but moves are performed by the workers. An alternate skin could be a blue butterfly caterpillar.
Biting Midge: some midges actually suck the blood of other arthropods so this would be a super small evasive fighter that isn't very strong but replenishes its own health.
Velvet Worm: the projectile attack specialist.
Vinegaroon: between a projectile one and slower armored heavy hitter
Mole cricket: I feel like this would be fun and unexpected, able to go underground as well as fly and use a sonic attack.
This is so cool, one of those lineages I've seen mentioned in passing (or as you say, illustrated), but never really given much attention.
Thank you for sharing, not sure I ever would have come across that video otherwise! It's also (finally) prompted me to do a bit of a dive into other lesser-known arachnid orders 😀🕷️
Only thing I'll add, it sounds like there's still a bit of debate as to where in the family tree they sit; close to ticks makes sense (given the 6 legs of the young), but looks like other theories have them as sister taxa to trigonotarbids, Opiliones, or even Xiphosura!
Ricinulei are such obscure arachnids that this is the only video of one on youtube and maybe the only video of one on the internet???? I grew up seeing them illustrated in books, not even photographed.
Weird stimboard, but I like it... :)

Wth is this creature 😭🙏

I have been trying to get over my arachnophobia lately, but the fates are testing me to not bust out the flamethrower and send this thing back to hell from once it came.
yes, I found this in my yard, and yes it is absolutely unnecessarily massive. It’s allowed to exist, but exist away from me. 😰
bug experts, help me!

I drew the spider I found as a hollow knight character to make me less scared of it. I still fear her, but she may continue to exist bc she lowkey chill

Here’s da reference
