I just read a KNY fanfic in wattpad where Akaza delusionally thinks that the readers is Koyuki.

He views the readers as Koyuki, not the readers themselves.

He loves Koyuki, not the readers.

AND IT BREAKS MY HEART SO MUCH.

BECAUSE NGL THE AUTHOR DID A GOOD JOB ON WRITING THE WAY AKAZA BEING DELUSIONAL AND INSANE AND JUST DESPERATE TO HAVE HIS KOYUKI BACK THAT HE HAS THE READERS AS HER REPLACEMENT

BUT WHAT MAKE IT WORSE IS THAT THE REAL KOYUKI HAS BEEN WATCHING ALL THIS TIME AND IT BROKE HER AS WELL.

What if the Uppermoons, receiving their punishment by being reborn again, but not as humans?

Just imagine

Akaza, reborn as a cat and finds a reincarnated Koyuki his fiancee.

But Koyuki is still sick and is allergic to cats so Akaza has to protect her in his cat form from afar.

Douma, reborn as a...um peacock. That got hurt and found by reincarnated Kotoha and Inosuke. But! Kotoha is actually afraid of big birds and helped him out of pity.

Inosuke hates him and would try to chase him away when Kotoha wasn't looking. Shinobu and Kanao are his friends and they whenever they look at peacock Douma, they want to kick him by instinct.

Kokushibou, reborn as a tarantula spider. Sees his reincarnated brother having a happy family and one of his kid found Kokushibou and decides to take him as a pet.

So here's the thing; ALL OF THEM REMEMBER THEIR LIFE AS DEMONS.

And this punishment is a form to show the demons how much they're missing. How they can't be with people they once cared about. How they can't say sorry to them.

This will process will repeat over and over until their sins are forgiven.

So Akaza might has to watch Koyuki be with someone else instead of him,

Douma always being treated harshly by Inosuke, Shinobu and Kanao.

Kokushibou, unable to say sorry for everything he done to Yoriichi.
