I rewatched Bye Bye Love last night and can confirm that the slap scene is in the movie.

BTW, I don’t think that scene of Matthew Modine’s character being slapped is even in the movie. It’s an outtake! TV trailers did this constantly in the 90s.

Maybe why I'm bitter is because I'm more concerned about what's going on with the adult characters and I don't really care about the kids being paired off and the show is suddenly becoming more about that.
