All the boys in this town were shit excluding a few, and that was me being nice. They all got on my nerves repeatedly coming to try and get with me, I really should just start telling them off. But I find the severe silent treatment more amusing, though sometimes I want to just yell at them. Walking the Hawkins High Halls was something every student has done but I was always getting the stairs. My sister was the one always speaking up for me, she was very popular and bright. I was always letting her handle these boys, maybe the ceaseless comments on how fat my ass is would stop. But they always kept coming with new ones, sure I had these powers but I was never and never will be a killer. These boys were always pushing me to new limits, just because I wouldn’t let them climb on top of me. I took a deep breath before I stepped out of my care. My sister Amara followed me, she went almost everywhere with me. As we walked into the school building I wasn’t stopped like I usually was, I made it to my locker with no one person bothering me. But my happiness was short-lived, once I got to my locker I was met with a new face. He was significantly better looking than any of the boys I met in this town, he had this sort of smug look on his face. I was absent for two days and there was already a new person along with a new drama, I opened my locker and took out my book for the first period. I completely ignored his presence, the attitude radiating off him was very cocky and I didn’t like it.

“Y/N you’re looking very nice in that dress, but I think it would look better on my bedroom floor.” Tommy H. Said, I didn’t even bat an eye in his direction, simply closing my locker and walking away with Amara. I heard footsteps walking behind us but this was the school hallway, it was free to use, who was I to stop people from walking? I entered my class and took my seat, I was never one to be late for class or cause a fuss, but I couldn’t control the commotion that followed me to my seat. I turned my head to see the new face, he sat in the seat next to me, which wasn’t weird because it was empty it made sense for a new student to take that seat. 

“Hello pretty lady, the name is billy. “ The boy said, I nodded and then started preparing for class. I didn’t respond to him and that seemed to kind of bother him.

“It seems like you didn’t hear me but the names billy what’s your name?” He asked this time, I looked at him for a second before writing something down and passed him the note.  

‘I heard you the first time, I just ignored you. Please leave me alone, I don’t talk to arrogant, cocky, and self-destructive boys. So just stay out of my way and keep everything at face value. You may have a pretty face but it doesn’t mean anything if your personality is shit.’ His emotions were displayed on his face and anger seemed to shine through the most, he crumpled the note and shoved it in his pocket. The whole class period went by without his talking to me again, as I walked out of the class I was met with Harrington. He was a good friend of mine, but he seemed to act like an overprotective boyfriend at times. 

“Hello milady, shall I walk you to your next class.” he said, I smiled and walked with him to our next class.

Lunch had rolled around and I sat at my usual table with my sister by ourselves, she insisted that she sit with me today so I didn’t feel alone but I didn’t mind her sitting with her friends. Lunch was going smoothly until billy sat down across from me, he didn’t say anything just took a piece of my celery and looked at me, my sister was going to say something but I just shook my head and shrugged my shoulders. 

“I’m not arrogant” he said, I didn’t say anything just set aside some celery on a napkin and passed it to him along with some chips.

“She said because you seemed so hungry that you can't ask.” Amara said, billy looked at her a shot her a sarcastic smile. 

“Thanks” he said.

I woke up to some subtle snoring, I sat up and let my eyes adjust to the minimal sunlight. That’s when I spotted a passed-out Billy still asleep in my chair, I checked the time and it was 5:24 am. I got up and approached his sleeping frame, I lightly tapped his shoulder and he stirred awake.

“It’s time to get up” I said softly, I couldn’t avoid talking at this point. He looked at me for a second before his eyes seemed to adjust to the light.

“What time is it?” He asked a little panicked, but he quickly hid his emotion.

“5:24 am” I answered, He nodded before getting and grabbing his shoes.

“Good, I can get home before Niel is up” He muttered under his breath, he was about to leave but he turned back around.

“You just talked, you have a pretty voice. You should talk to me more often.” He concluded before leaving me alone in my room, Billy didn’t seem as bad as I thought he was. Maybe he could be a gentleman in the right light, I walked downstairs and saw a couple of people asleep on the floor. Billy still trying to make his way around them to leave, I watched him leave and then made my way down the stairs. I started to pick up the trash to help Amara out, she definitely needed the help. After a while of picking up trash, I was done with the cans and such. She would have to clean the rest herself.

~~~ The rest of the weekend passed by in a flash, I used it to be lazy and chill out in my room. But when I walked into that school building, there were more stares than usual. I mean everyone finally seeing my body probably had caused that effect, but the eye fucking was unnecessary. Once I reached my locker I was greeted by Billy and his little Posse, they seemed all too happy.

“So Y/N how come you never told us your body was that banging? And don’t even get me started on those tattoos” Tommy teased, I rolled my eyes and took out my class materials.

“Morning Sunshine” Billy said, I gave him a polite smile and started walking to class. Amara stopped me before I could walk in though, she pulled me to the side and seemed to be in a panic.

“Y/N I need your help, I forgot to do my chemistry homework. Please I’m begging you, work your magic.” She begged, I sighed and did my thing. I could do a lot of things with my powers and that included creating false images, so Amara would always ask me to create a completed assignment for her when she needed it.

Amara was putting the finishing touches on her party, people were starting to arrive and I was just there as supervisor. Though Amara was very orderly, she made sure everyone had a good time and that no one got hurt. So I was really only there to steal some booze and snacks and call the police if something bad did happen. People had just only started showing up and it was already too many people for me, I grabbed a cup of the punch and sat on the countertop. I didn’t dress up for the event but I was nice enough to put a dress over my bikini, I was going to stay inside but it was a nice crisp day and my hot tub was calling my name. After a while of people watching I grabbed my towel and walked out to the back, I slid off my dress and quickly got in the hot tub. It was so relaxing, I just sat for a while until Tommy and his friends brought the keg out to the back and saw me in my bikini.

“Well hello, there beautiful who knew your body was this banging underneath that dress” Tommy said, I simply lifted my hand and flipped him off. People began to gather outside as Billy made his way to the back. They were cheering him on to keg stand I assumed, but Tommy took a little too long to walk away which led to Billy also approaching me. He didn’t say anything but his eyes did scan lower than I’d like, Tommy was about to say something but Billy pulled him away. They went back to their prepared activities and I just watched, as Billy finished his keg stand I saw a random girl grab the towel I set aside for myself and rush over to billy with it. This annoyed me, the stares I was getting were one thing but taking my towel was just so annoying. I made my way out of the hot tub and picked up my dress, when I turned back around all eyes were on me. I didn’t usually show my body, well I didn’t ever show any of these kids my body. I liked to keep my tattoos private, but now it was all in the open. I started towards the door and a path cleared for me, even though I was only wearing a bikini, which was starting to ride up, all of these people were undressing me with their eyes. I stopped in front of Billy and he was frozen, I politely smiled and took my towel back from him. I wrapped it around myself and walked inside straight up to my room, I closed the door behind me and went straight to my en-suite bathroom. I made sure to lock my bathroom door, I would rather not have a random guy or girl or both walking in on me naked. My shower didn’t last too long probably about 15 minutes before I got out, I walked into my room and dried off. My outfit which consisted of some pajama pants and a tank top was already laid out beforehand. The music of the party continued to rage on and it was kind of annoying, once I finished getting dressed I looked in my snack cubby and took out some candy. I was perfectly fine sitting on my bed reading a book for a while before an inebriated man stumbled into my room. I watched as he politely closed the door behind himself and looked around the room, Billy’s eyes met mine as I put my book down.

“Well hello gorgeous, don’t mean to intrude.” He assured me, I nodded and just looked at him

“You’re the first girl who has never spoken a word to me, even though I keep talking to you.” He remarked, I shrugged my shoulders.

“I've even tried to change to get you to talk back to me. But you just keep being silent.” He added as he sat on the chair in the corner of my room. I pointed towards the door and he shook his head no.

“I promise you I won’t lay a hand on you, I’m just tired. Partying with them gets tiring but I have an image to maintain.” He said slowly falling asleep, I didn’t bother to kick him out. I mean I could hurt him if he tried anything, but he seemed hurt enough already.

I sat at the lunch table already setting some food aside for Billy as he sat down, he didn’t say anything but just looked at me.

“Why don’t you talk?” He asked me, I didn’t say anything just slid the food towards him. He waited patiently for my response but I wasn’t giving him one, I ate my food and stared back at him. Under his shirt collar, I could see a bruise that looked fresh, I reached over to him and pulled up his collar covering it up properly. He watched me carefully and didn’t say anything, well not until he noticed that I saw the bruise.

“Got into a fight” he lied, I could tell he was lying but I wasn’t going to push him to talk about anything. He and I were simply just acquaintances, he sat with me at lunch and ate half my food. I pulled out a post-it note and wrote ‘Wanna go outside? I need some fresh air'. He nodded and packed my stuff in my bag, he followed me as I walked out of the cafeteria to the parking lot.

“You don’t have to tell me bout your bruise Billy, just don’t lie to me. Any good relationship regardless of the type is built on trust, if you want to have a friendship with me just don’t lie.” I said as we approached my car, he looked a little taken aback.

“How would you know if I lied?” He questioned, I shrugged my shoulders and sat on my hood.

“I just will” I concluded, he leaned on the hood next to me not saying anything. I sat quietly taking in the beautiful day’s weather, it felt so relaxing to be outside and not in the stuffy loud cafeteria.

“Why don’t you talk to me in school? What you’re too good to be seen talking to me?” He interrogated, I thought for a minute before responding.

“I don’t talk in school, I like to ignore boys. It's more amusing that way, if a boy says something really inappropriate my sister will handle it, or if it is really bad I’ll handle it but they won’t like me after I do. I haven’t pleasantly spoken to a boy in school in almost 4 years, I talk to my friends outside of school. Billy, I don’t like to talk in school. You and I can talk, just write me a note. But I will not be using my voice to talk to you inside that building, but don’t get me wrong the second you try some arrogant, asshole shit. We will no longer be affiliated with each other.” I explained, and he listened and absorbed my words quietly. I heard the bell ring in the distance and hopped off my car, I started walking back into the school as he followed. He didn’t say anything until we got to my class, he stopped me from walking in.

“Do you want to maybe hang out with me after school?” He inquired, I smiled and shrugged my shoulder. I walked into the classroom leaving him in the hallway, with a delightful amused grin on his face.
