Until The End

summary: Trapped in a cabin with zombies closing in, Taehyun and Beomgyu face their end. Despite Beomgyu’s plea, Taehyun stays by his side, and they face their final moments together.

In the dim, isolated interior of an old, decrepit cabin deep in the woods, Taehyun and Beomgyu huddled together. The once sturdy walls were now weakened, barely holding back the encroaching horde of undead outside. The sound of scratching claws and muffled growls reverberated through the cabin, a constant reminder of the danger closing in on them.

Beomgyu, now pale and weak from the infection, lay on an old cot that had seen better days. His breathing was shallow, each gasp a struggle. The bite on his arm had turned his skin an unnatural hue, the infection spreading visibly. Taehyun, his face etched with sorrow and determination, knelt beside him, holding Beomgyu’s hand tightly.

“Beomgyu,” Taehyun said softly, his voice barely audible over the cacophony of groans and scraping sounds from outside. “I need to see you one last time. Please, let me look at you.”

Beomgyu’s eyes, once full of life, now showed a distant, haunting light. He managed a faint, bittersweet smile, the last flicker of his humanity showing through. “I’m sorry,” he rasped. “I know this is the hardest thing you’ve ever done.”

Taehyun’s tears fell freely as he gently caressed Beomgyu’s face. “I’m not sorry,” he said, his voice breaking. “I’d do it all over again if it meant being with you. Just... let me hold onto this moment. I want to remember you like this, not as one of them.”

Beomgyu’s gaze softened, but his body began to convulse slightly as the infection took hold. “It’s happening,” he said, his voice fading. “You know what you have to do.”

Taehyun nodded, his heart breaking with every thud of the approaching zombies against the cabin walls. The scratching grew louder, and the old wood began to creak under the pressure. He looked into Beomgyu’s eyes one last time, searching for any remnant of the person he loved. “Yes. I know. But I need you to understand—this isn’t just an end. It’s a continuation of everything we’ve been through. I’m staying with you, no matter what.”

As Beomgyu’s transformation began, his movements became erratic, his body writhing and convulsing. Taehyun clung to him, holding his face in his hands, his eyes searching Beomgyu’s as they became more clouded by the infection. The growls outside were deafening now, the zombies nearly breaking through the cabin’s fragile defenses.

Taehyun took a deep breath, steeling himself as he positioned his own neck near Beomgyu’s mouth. The fear of what was to come was palpable, but the love he felt for Beomgyu outweighed his dread. He reached up to touch Beomgyu’s cheek one last time, his tears mingling with the dirt and grime of the cabin.

“Beomgyu,” Taehyun whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. “Even if you can’t remember me, even if you’re not the person you were... I’ll still be with you. I love you. That’s never going to change.”

The scratching grew more intense, the cabin shaking as the zombies pressed harder against the walls. Taehyun braced himself, allowing Beomgyu to bite him. The pain was sharp, but it was nothing compared to the heartbreak of seeing the person he loved slip away.

As the infection began to spread through him, Taehyun held Beomgyu’s hand tightly. Their final moments together were a poignant mix of love and despair, their promises echoing in the small, isolated cabin. Outside, the world continued its inexorable march toward darkness, but inside, amidst the growing chaos, they found a bittersweet solace in facing the end together.

a/n: I had Die With A Smile on repeat for the whole day and just had to write an au kind of based on it and here it is ! I was thinking of making a similar one for Yeonbin but we'll see. I hope to whoever reads it likes it !
