The snap

Mina is not someone who eavesdrops; she likes to know about her classmates affairs of course, but she prefers to ask them directly about it.

However, this is inevitable; she's on her way to the kitchen and she hears voices coming from the hallway. Before she can stop and turn around, she recognizes Aizawa's voice, he seems to be scolding Bakugo.

"Your teeth are more sharp than usual," he observes, prompting the young alpha to snarl at him in response. "You're suppressing your feelings, if you keep doing that, your inner alpha is going to snap."

"I DON'T HAVE FEELINGS FOR ANYONE!"

"I didn't say that," Aizawa says calmly, sounding almost bored, however, Mina knows he's worried.

She is worried too.

Aizawa sighs.

"I'm not saying you should confess to them, just don't try to suppress your feelings because that'll hurt you later."

When she hears Aizawa walking away, she's sure Bakugo starts cursing under his breath grumpily. She tries not to roll her eyes.

Pretending she's coming from her dorm, she finally walks in the common room only to find a very irritated Bakugo sitting on the couch and looking like he just ate something disgusting. Mina can't believe it, the alpha is really handsome, if he wasn't constantly doing that gremlin face he'd have anyone he wanted.

But obviously he doesn't care about that, because he only has eyes for one person and Mina has an idea who's that omega.

"Good morning, Bakugo!"

"Tch!" It's the only response she gets from the alpha, good thing her inner alpha is not competitive otherwise they'd be at each other's throats all the time.

That's one of the reasons why Todoroki and he can't stand each other.

"Morning, Ashido!" Midoriya walks in the common room, with a huge smile on his face.

Her lips quirk up on their own, she can't help it; that omega is just too pretty for his own good.

He's also the other reason why Bakugo and Todoroki are constantly competing against each other.

"Kacchan! I didn't see you there! I was going to–"

"SHUT UP, SHITTY NERD!" Bakugo growls before stomping away.

Midoriya looks confused and a little bit sad as he watches him go; yes, Bakugo is constantly grumpy and baring his teeth at everyone but he never walks away from anything.

"Maybe he had something to do," Midoriya mumbles to himself but Mina hears all the same.

No, it's like Bakugo is afraid of spending time near the green haired omega. And based on what she heard from Aizawa, that's exactly the opposite of what he should be doing.

As predicted, the alpha snaps; Mina is the first one to notice because she's been keeping an eye on Bakugo since he had that conversation with Aizawa.

The boy has been avoiding Midoriya like the omega has a very contagious disease and trying not to look at him in the eye at all. Everyone has noticed, even the oblivious omega, although he has come to a completely wrong conclusion.

"He must really hate me." Midoriya mumbles to Uraraka once in the dining room although it's not quiet enough for Mina not to listen to them.

And then the incident during the survival training happens; Midoriya breaks his leg as a building almost collapses over him. Bakugo's inner alpha snaps then; the growl that escapes from his lips is almost feral as he uses his quirk to get Midoriya out of there in no time.

The omega looks fine actually (if one doesn't count the broken leg that is) he's awake, although he looks a little bit concerned.

Everyone is already praising Bakugo for saving Midoriya and no one (except Mina) notices that something's wrong until Todoroki gets closer to them.

Bakugo looks up, eyes completely white, as he snarls at the other alpha before pulling the omega closer to his chest.

"Todoroki, don't–"

"We have to take Midoriya to Recovery girl," the alpha with mismatched hair ignores Mina completely.

"No," Aizawa puts a hand over Todoroki's shoulder before he can take another step forward. "He snapped. He will attack you if he thinks you're going to take Midoriya away from him. Bakugo thinks he's his omega."

Something dark appears on Todoroki's features suddenly, for a moment Mina thinks he's about to snap too.

"I can handle him."

"No," Aizawa almost growls, eyes glowing red to nullify Todoroki's quirk immediately. Then he turns to look at the others and adds: "Let Midoriya handle it."

That's when Mina notices Midoriya's calming scent all over the air; it's working, Bakugo stops baring his teeth and looks down to the omega in his arms.

"Alpha," Midoriya mumbles sweetly. "You did good. You protected me. I feel safe with you."

Mina wonders if the fond look in his eyes is part of the plan to bring Bakugo back or it's genuine. Midoriya is so good at choosing the right words to make an alpha feel good that she feels a little bit jealous of Bakugo for a moment. No wonder why Todoroki looks like he's being tortured.

"You did a good job," Midoriya whispers, taking Bakugo's face in his hands to rub their noses together. "But I need to talk to Kacchan now. Please, let me see him."

With his eyes completely white still, Bakugo frowns and pulls the omega closer to him. He nuzzles his neck affectionately and he's so distracted (fortunately) he doesn't notice that Aizawa has to stop Todoroki from approaching them again.

"I'll be fine," Midoriya promises. "Kacchan knows how to take care of me."

The alpha nods before blinking a couple of times, Mina takes a deep breath when she notices that the red irises are back again.

"Izuku?" Bakugo doesn't let go of the omega (which is a relief otherwise poor Midoriya would have hit the floor) but he looks confused. When he sees the broken leg he adds in a painful whisper: "Did I do this to you?"

"No, Kacchan. You saved me!" Midoriya assures him. "Thank you. Although I have to–"

"I'll take Midoriya to Recovery girl now," Todoroki cuts in; Aizawa must've let him go at last.

Bakugo growls in response.

"No, I'll take him. It's my responsibility..."

Perhaps Midoriya is still worried that Bakugo might snap again; Mina is sure he's just trying to help and maybe he's so focused on that he doesn't realize his words hit Bakugo like a punch in the face.

"No, it's not because I'm not your omega," he says, already pulling away. "I'm just Deku, the shitty nerd, remember? You don't want me as your omega."

Bakugo is so shocked by his words he doesn't stop Todoroki from taking Midoriya away from him.

Aizawa puts a gentle hand on the blond alpha's shoulder, then, he turns around and instructs everyone to go back to the dorms. Bakugo doesn't move so Mina, Kirishima and Kaminari stay behind with him.

"Let's go back, Bakugo!" Kaminari tries to cheer him up. "You need to rest..."

For the first time Mina agrees with him because Bakugo does look exhausted... and devastated.

"I've been treating him like shit all this time," he mumbles, looking down. "Of course he doesn't want to be my omega."

"That's not what he said," Mina blurts out. She hates to look at one of her friends like that.

"You totally have a chance, Bakubro!" Kirishima assures him, helping him up.

"Right," Mina nods. "But you have to apologize first and then try to be kind to him. Show him you can be a good alpha."

Blinking, Bakugo looks up at them; Mina has never seen him so vulnerable before. He doesn't even have enough energy to yell anymore.

"Do you really think I have a chance?"

"Absolutely."

"The only problem is Todoroki," Kaminari mumbles at the worst possible moment, like he always does.

"He won't be a problem if you listen to me," she assures Bakugo.

Mina has officially chosen her side and she knows Uraraka is not going to be pleased at all because she's been trying to get Todoroki and Midoriya together for a while now, but Bakugo is Mina's friend and she's determined to help him get his beloved omega.

For fun, class 1a reads wattpad y/n fics about THEMSELVES.

So at least once a week aizawa will walk into the common room with everyone CACKLING with at least one new person reading out loud a y/n fanfic.

Todoroki is always a fan favorite bc he does it in the most monotonous voice ever and he’s reading out “ todoroki looked into todoroki’s beautiful eyes” while everyone is dying of laughter. Iida is also a favorite bc he gets SUPER NERVOUS and cringes throughout the whole thing. Jirou and mina shamelessly read it with ALL THE THEATRICS and denki full heartedly enjoys every moment of it.

Tokoyami, bakugou, shinsou and shouji’s is always the funniest bc from the entire group they’re always the ones that is described as super edgy and mean and its hilarious.

Deku just cant read his own, he always has to have someone else read it and one time bakugou read it and they had to stop bc he was getting WAY TOO INTO IT and would forget to read it out loud bc he got so engrossed in it.
