and taht’s why it takes 10 x more than usual to finish a paper
I’m the kind of person that will restart a song because i got distracted and wasn’t appreciating it enough.
well, the world it’s a fucking butthole right now and it doesn’t seem as it’s going to get any better
This has actually happened to me
Whick Chicks (2004) dir. Keenen Ivory Wayans
Mai: someone’s coming
Ty Lee: ooh it’s someone you don’t like
Azula: that could be anyone
I mean I get that his comment on bitter work it’s supposed to be funny and it is, but it’s pretty striking how much Iroh hates Azula, specially if we consider that he is much more neutral toward characters like Zhao or Ozai himself, that are objectively far more inmoral and have caused much more damage to people (and the entire world).
My theory on why he is so unforgiving with her is because he sees his younger self in her, the pre lu ten’s death Iroh who would joke about burning entire cities to the ground. Iroh still strugles with everything he did in the past and the way to cope with it, is to hate and induce zuko to hate her, she is nothing but a representation of who he used to be to him, and that’s why he is so adamant on destroying her (figuratively destroying his past self) instead of just trying to aproach her or lead Zuko to mend their relationship and posibly bring her to ‘the light’, and people can say that she was far too gone to do anything about it but Iroh was in his fifties when he had his change of heart, Azula is barely a teenager, she may not change her essence, but is pretty likely that her ideals and even morals change by the time she’s twenty and it would not take anyone to die for it to happen
Book 3: Sozin’s Comet Part 2: The Old Masters:
Iroh: Even if I did defeat Ozai and I don’t know if I could, it will be the wrong way to end the war. History would see it as just more senseless violence A BROTHER KILLING A BROTHER TO GRAB POWER.
…the same guy some seconds later:
Iroh: Zuko you must return to the Fire Nation so that when the Fire Lord falls you can assume the throne and restore peace and order. But Azula will be there waiting for you.
Zuko: I can handle Azula.
Iroh: Not alone, you’ll need help.
I really dislike him. He does nothing other than making the relationship of two young siblings even worse. If he would give Zuko a bit support to get along with Azula, I am sure he would at least try. Especially after his “change”.
Book 2: Bitter Work
Zuko: I know what you’re going to say, she’s my sister and I should be trying to get along with her. (He even EXPECTS him to say this, cause this would be right and wise)
Iroh: No she’s crazy and she needs to go down.
Wonderful wise man…he can hate her if he wants to, but not reflect it to her brother
