oohhh we’re halfway there!

I can understand how lightning and metal bending is a common thing in lok, because we see the world is highly industrialized at that point, and electricity and metal are elements that fuel this companies, so more than an art it might have been taught massively to people so they can perform their work on factories.
We also see that as talented as they might be, their bending is not as effective as it was in atla, I mean the only time I remember mako’s lightning did something useful, was when he killed of ming hua, but that‘s just because of the water, the funny thing is that Asami’s glove generally did more harm than any lightning bending.
That being said, lok totally shits on the spiritual part of bending, the most prominent example is how the airbending nomads were the only 100% bending nation because of their high spirituality and in lok they just give airbending to random people probably as a way to get laughs, like that guy who wanted to keep living in his mother’s basement, kai and downgrading bumi from a capable, clever general to a lousy airbender
Full offence but I can’t give lok another shit after they bastardised bending so much. No respect

This has actually happened to me
