ok i’ve seen people speculating that alastor sold his soul to whoeverthefuck in exchange for power and while he’s def. the typa guy to do smth like that i don’t think that’s the case

he clearly wants OUT of this deal. he does not want to be part of it anymore. and i don’t think he would want that if it meant losing power

i think alastor genuinely thought he could defeat or otherwise stall adam in the final battle because before his deal he COULD have. seven years ago, presumably before his deal, he had that sort of power, and now he doesn’t. and he didn’t have the opportunity to realize that until adam kicked his ass, and now he’s panicking because oh fuck this was a BAD idea
