“How do you make babies ?” - Batman x Reader

Just a short little DRABBLE (am I doing this right ?) I kept thinking about :). Written in half an hour, during my lunch break, because why not, right ? I hope you’ll like it :

It was rare, to see the Batman flustered. 

In fact, Clark was pretty sure he could count on his fingers how many time he saw Bruce GENUINELY flustered. Not while at a gala, faking it all and acting modest and embarrassed. 

No no no, actually blushing and not knowing what to say. Slurring his words and feeling almost panicked. Totally and utterly…flustered.

Each times Superman saw it happened, it was because of you, of course. 

You knew exactly what to say to make Bruce’s cheeks go red, and to leave his brain blank. It would never last, unfortunately. He’d always regain composure fast, but still. It was nonetheless very entertaining to witness. 

Especially since before Clark met you, he only knew your husband as either the extremely stoic and serious Batman, or smug and arrogant Bruce Wayne. 

What a nice surprise, to discover he was actually a normal human being, who’d sometimes get very nervous and agitated around the woman he loves, no matter how long they’ve been together. Simply because she knew which buttons to push, and would always gladly do so. 

Oh yes. It was one of your little guilty pleasure, to embarrass your husband in front of his (true) friends. You also had the bad habit to embarrass your children whenever you thought the opportunity was right. But hey, they gave you enough troubles that you felt you had the right to tease them a bit sometimes.

However, actually seeing Bruce in that state still happened rarely. And it never NEVER took place when up in the Watchtower. 

The rare times Clark saw Bruce Wayne lose all his countenance and blush, was in the intimacy of his own house. Or when your family would visit his, in Metropolis. Long story short, whenever you’d all be out of your superheroes’ costumes.  

It seemed like Bruce always somehow made sure you weren’t around when the Watchtower was full. He knew you well, and knew how it was very tempting for you to tease the hell out of him in front of everyone, and hereby, making him blush ! Though with his mask it was less obvious…He had a reputation to maintain ! 

And people like Green Lantern or Aquaman would NEVER let him leave that down if they ever saw him getting flustered because of whatever you said ! They’d surely make bad impressions of you and annoy him every chance they got. 

For this reason, Bruce always expertly managed to be up the watchtower while you weren’t, and vice versa. Then again, you’d go up there almost only during emergencies anyway or to pick up one of your kids (so not staying long), so it wasn’t very hard to “avoid you” when surrounded by all your “superfriends”. 

And since it was always emergencies, you wouldn’t even think about teasing your husband. Bruce always thought things through, and he was most definitely NEVER going to let you have the best of him in front of such an audience. 

But hey, even your detective of a husband made mistakes sometimes, and didn’t plan that some things would happen. 

Like, for example, his youngest son, Thomas, asking something like : “How do you make babies ?” in front of everyone.

“Can you be my dad’s girlfriend, please ?” - Bruce Wayne x Reader (x Batkids)

I was just thinking about the kids’ experience in school, being both part of the Wayne family and everything it brings AND a vigilante…and this story just came to be. I hope you will like it : 

Fair warning : this is very long. I hope you will not find it boring. The subject interested me, and I wanted to write a slow burn story for ages. And here we are.

DICK.

“Are you sure about this, Dick ?”

“Yeah, I am.”

The boy looked sure of himself alright, but Bruce couldn’t help and be a little worried, faced with the building’s decrepitude, and the general state of the neighborhood. Of course, he himself would never care about that, but this didn’t concern him per se.

It wasn’t about his safety, but Dick’s.

Bruce Wayne could wish to change Gotham all he wanted, do everything in his power to make living in this city better, and hope for progress…He wasn’t an idiot.

He knew his work just started, and that most of the city was still very much unsafe. And Dick went through so much already…

Was enrolling him in this school the right choice ?

“You know, Gotham Academy is currently the best rated school in the city ? And it’s closer to the Manor, not by much, but still…It’s also closer from Wayne Tower, just in case.”

Dick frowned, and Bruce could see that he was going to say something before he could truly think about it. His little ward was very impulsive, at times. And sure enough, Bruce was right, as Dick turned to him and started vehemently :

"It’s full of phonies and not payed enough frustrated teachers who are mean to kids because they were born rich ! I mean, some of those kids totally deserve it, being phonies and all, but there’s many that are just normal nice kids with rich parents ! I can’t learn with a teacher who hates teaching. And the phonies are getting to me now, mocking me because I was in the circus…And it’s harder to fit in when you go home and are not in the boarding school part ? Most of them are in boarding school, and were jealous I could go home. And I don’t care about the "prestige” everyone was always talking about. I don’t go to school to appear better than I am, I go there to learn !”

There’s a short silence, during which Bruce feels a pang of guilt in his heart.

Other kids were mocking him ? The teachers weren’t nice ? Why did Dick wait three months into the school year to tell him he wasn’t feeling well in that environment ? Was he not feeling comfortable enough around him yet ? It has only been six months since he started to live with him, after all..

Bruce tried his best to make him feel at home at the Manor, but it proved, at times, to be more difficult than anything he ever did in his life.

And this was coming from a man who went to train all over the world for years, enduring impossible trials after impossible trials. None of his training though, prepared him to raise a kid. Thanks god Alfred was always there to help him out when he wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do.

And the more he thought of it, the more Bruce realized that putting Dick in the fanciest school of the City might not have been the best move…

“Do-Do you um, care about the prestige ?“

Dick asks, breaking the silence, looking up at Bruce shyly.

It was clear in the little boy’s eyes, he was very worried about what Bruce was thinking right now. And that the short silence after his passionate diatribe made him nervous. Because…Maybe Bruce would disagree with him ?

Maybe knowing the reason Dick wanted to change from private school to a "normal” public school in would make him angry ? Offend him ?

After all, Gotham Academy was very much like the school Bruce went to as a youngster (said school blew up a few years prior after an “accidental” gaz leak).

Looking at the boy’s almost panicked face, Bruce reassured him quickly :

“Of course not chum. I want you to be happy and feel comfortable in whatever school you choose. If you want to go to this one, then you’re going to this one. I was just making sure everything was truly ok with you.”

I needed to hear that

A post towards my fellow artists:

You should love your art. If you already do, then that's awesome, but I grew up seeing a lot of people online saying they don't like how they draw, or how they end up dislikong or hating the final result, or that they are not satisfied.

I guess that in a way that keeps you motivated to get better and better, but if I truly learned something in 10 years of drawing, is that you will never reach a point where your art is "good enough" to stop improving. Art doesn't have an end goal.

Art is made to show something we had inside oir minds and make it physical and existing in the world. So you should love your art. Marvel at your masperpieces, laught at your own comics, cry at your own fanfictions.

So yeah draw all your super self indulgent things, you should fangirl about your art. That's what it makes it so fun

The day he lost Titus - Damian Wayne x Batmom

I was thinking about how Damian LOVES his animals so much, and how heartbreaking it would be if he lost one. And since I like writing him actually acting like the kid he is…I wrote a quick drabble about it. Hope you’ll like it :

It happened at the Kent’s farm.

You were invited there by Clark’s mother, who had been asking for YEARS that your family come see the farm one day. And spend a relaxing time there. Not worrying about city problems, and being surrounded by nature (”and cows, and their smell, and hay fever…” you’re pretty sure Bruce would add, a sort of disdain in his voice. He was NOT a country boy).

Martha Kent and her son were very close from each others, and more than once Clark confided in her about the struggles of being “Superman”. And how much, surprisingly, the Batman and his family actually helped out.  

Against what most people would think, given their history, Bruce was the first person to understand how lonely it was to be Superman. To be that over-powerful being, that never quite found his place in the world (at least when they first met).

He was the first one to get how alone Clark could feel, and how much he felt like an outcast. Then again, it was mainly because Bruce could truly understand what it was like.

Him too, for different reasons though, felt disconnected from “normal” people most of the time. He truly understood Clark…and through the years, in his own way, helped him out to find his place in the World.

And sure, at first, they clashed a lot. Clark had some prejudices about Bruce, and vice versa. But over the years, they truly became friends and helped each others more than they’d ever imagined.

They saved each others countless times. Every time it happened, they understood one another, and their motives, more and more. And so they slowly but surely became best friends.

When you entered Bruce’s life, Clark saw a clear shift in his behavior. 

A very welcomed one as well. It was as if a light came back in the Bat’s heart. A little flame fueled by love. And that fire was fanned by the kids entering both your lives, one by one.

You too, became close friend with Clark. Your children were friend with theirs. And Lois ? Ah you and her really got along well. You both knew which button to push to annoy your husbands, and also thought it was hilarious, to see two grown ass men getting vexed so fast.

Especially knowing it was the mighty Superman, and the fearless Batman.

In any way, long story short, Martha wanted to invite Bruce, you, and your family over because she knew how much you all counted for her son. For her grandsons. And for her beloved daughter-in-law. 

Only you all had quite busy lives, and when you could go, then Clark and/or Lois weren’t available, and vice versa.

Plus, let’s be honest, your husband wasn’t particularly thrilled about going to “Smallville”. He really was the epitome of a “city boy”. It took a little push on your part to finally convince Bruce that it was a good idea.

Though you didn’t have to spend a long time trying to convince him, in the end. Because he just had to see how excited Damian was about going (some story involving Jon talking about a cool forrest to built a tree house in or something like that) and he was sold.

It was so rare to see his son that excited about things as trivial as building a tree house…

Damian, because of how he was raised, often dismissed the childish side of him that stayed dormant for so long. So to see him embrace it like that ? Of course Bruce would finally make the time to go.
