You knew how stressed Riddle could be from keeping an eye on every student and making sure no one breaks the rules, so you came up with an idea to maybe help him relax

So one evening, you approached an exhausted looking Riddle and asked him to follow you to your room, saying you wanted to show him something

He was tired but decided to follow you anyway

It's not like he could bring himself to refuse you

You ask him to sit down on your bed and bring out your switch

"Y/n, you know I don't have time for these kinds of games..", he already starts as you push the console into his hands

"Please Riddle! This game is very relaxing, I think you could use some downtime from time to time"

The combined effort of your sweet words and puppy-eyes made him reluctantly turn on the console

He squinted a bit at the name "Animal Crossing" but your excited gaze pushed him on to play

He hasn't really played any videogames before, his mother would have never allowed him and he was way too busy with his studies to try it out

He won't admit it, but he's kind of excited to try this out

You will have to explain the controls a few times to him, it's all very new for him but he eventually gets the hang of it

Lowkey becomes a gardener, his entire island is covered in ( red of course) roses

Has a room in his house dedicated to holding imaginary tea parties

May or may not have a secret collection if stuffed animals, don't judge him

Picked all the weeds he could find on the first day and made it his personal mission to keep the island clean, making daily patrols to see if any trash was left behind or if new weeds had grown

When he finds a lost item and returns it to it's owner, he immediately runs to the airport to buy paper and writes a formal letter of complaint to the neglectful villager that had left behind their stuff, reminding them that it is not allowed to litter the island and that they are going to face some type of punishment for their misbehavior

Writes down all of the rules of the Queen of Hearts on the bulletin board and expects all of the villagers to follow them

You try to explain to him that they can't ACTUALLY read what he's writing but he doesn't listen

Lord have mercy on the poor villagers

Leona

You're both bored and lying around on Leona's bed when you get the idea to show him a game you have been enjoying for quite a bit now : Animal Crossing

When you bring it up, he at first complains that he doesn't feel like making an effort to play a game with you. He's too lazy for that.

You assure him that it's not competitive at all and that he won't need to exhaust himself at all, prompting him to then ask why he should play a game where there's no competition. Isn't that boring?

You explain that it's meant to be a relaxing game and that he would surly enjoy it! And if he won't then you can always just put the game down again and do something else

So he agrees

I wouldn't be surprised if he played videogames before so you probably won't need to help him with anything and could just watch Leona on his little adventure

He's the kind of person that pushes his villagers around, hits them with nets and digs holes around them to trap them

He smirks when they make upset remarks and complain to him, he finds it amusing

He isn't really interested in decorating his home and island or wearing fashionable clothes

Plans to eventually have his entire island inhabited by lions so he can rule over them as their king

One day he sees the 1 million bells crown in the shop and decides that it's the one thing he needs to buy

He will take every opportunity to be king , even if it's in a silly little videogame

Next to all the lions, he also has Kyle and Fang as his villagers

You tease him about how they have a resemblance to certain people you know but Leona will deny any implication you made

So what if one of them is a white wolf and one has black dots on him like a hyena? They moved in on their own and he hasn't had the opportunity to throw them out yet!

Azul

You approach him with the game after Mostro Lounge closing hours, thinking he might need some relaxation after the stressful day

Azul is curious, he hasn't really had the opportunity to play videogames, as they didn't exist underwater so he thought he might as well just try it out

He wouldn't admit it but he likes the cute aesthetic the game has and the music is very soothing to him!

Wants to try and rebuild Mostro Lounge on his island so he catches lots of fish to put them display to imitate the aquariums they have

Looking for the right furniture to decorate his little project accordingly, he can't help but he slightly frustrated by the high prices. How is he supposed to get that much money to get everything he needs?

But boy, when you suggest for him to check out Nookazon to earn bells, it's all over

You quickly realize your mistake but at this point it's too late

He looks at the big prices for certain villagers and smells a business opportunity

Now he actively collects Nook Mile tickets to go to island to invite popular villagers into his island to later sell them off

Is this essentially human trafficking because he's part animal as well?

He wants that big money to make his dream of building Mostro Lounge true

He kind of becomes infamous on Nookazon, always having a new offer up as soon as the old one was fulfilled, always somehow getting people to give more money than they said they would

But when you show him that octopi are actually among the most sought-after types of villagers? The entire business man facade breaks down

Might actually cry from that fact alone

He was always bullied for his form that he was so self-conscious about so it does put a smile on his face, even if he might deny it later on

Kalim

As soon as you propose the idea of playing a new game with him, he's all for it!

He doesn't mind a relaxing game either, as long as he can send some time with you!

Will absolutely gush about any villagers he sees, they're all adorable to him, no matter what anyone else might say

Treats the social aspect of this game very seriously and the first thing he does when starting the game is greet every single one of his villagers

He also writes letters to them every day and anxiously awaits their replies

Always gives them gifts at every opportunity he gets, getting super happy whenever they thank him about his generous gifts!

Kalim is very much an impulse buyer and wants to buy absolutely every piece of furniture and clothing he lays his eyes on

Is shocked the first time the game tells him he doesn't have enough to but something

What do they mean he doesn't have enough money? He's never had this problem before, what with him being an heir of the esteemed Asim family. He was always able to get whatever he wanted so this was definitely an unfamiliar experience for him.

Baby's first exposure to capitalism

Frequently gets Nook Mile tickets once he found out that he could invite new villagers onto his island this way. He invites over any villager he sees, not caring at all about if they might look a bit weird or not. Anyone is welcomed here!

Is genuinely offended when he finds out there is a limit of 10 villagers per island. How is he supposed to get every villager possible onto his island now? There's enough space to build more homes so why won't the game let him?? He's heartbroken.

After getting over the initial disappointment he decides to make the best of the current situation. He doesn't want anyone to leave him and loves all of his villagers equally.

Is a huge fan of K.K Slider and plays his music even outside of the game

Poor Jamil, having to listen to Kalim blast Bubblegum K.K for 10 hours

Vil

You all knew it was coming, this man is all about the aesthetic

The first trip he makes every time he opens the game is going to the Able Sisters to see if there are any new clothes to try on

Regularly changes his haircut and hair color to fit his outfit of choice best

Spends practically all of his bells on clothes and accessories, complains when he finds out there is a storage limit and afterwards immediately scrambles to expand his house just so he can store even more clothes

He takes his appearance very seriously and it's the same for his villagers

He only wants the villagers he deems pretty enough so he expectantly waits for the day when one of his... unfortunately looking villagers wants to move out

Criticizes the outfits his villagers are wearing, often calling them tasteless

It gets to a point where he personally goes clothes shopping not only for himself but every single villager he has as well

It's a big strain on his bells so he kindly asks you to move onto the island and earn some money so he can buy more stuff

And then he proceeds to judge your outfit as well. You almost have enough until you see how much effort he actually puts into the island. He patiently terraforms the entire area and creates beautiful sights and parks for you to marvel at

Vil has an eye for aesthetics there's no denying that

When he gets the designer app, there's no stopping him. He's great at creating his own clothes and opts to do that rather than spend all of your hard earned bells.

Will want to take photos with you so he designs matching clothes for the both of you to wear as you position your characters in front of the camera.

You get some very cute and wholesome of you two in a beautiful flower maze

Idia

While Idia is mostly shy and doesn't really like talking to people, he immediately perks up when you offer him to play a videogame with you. He really wants to try this foreign game out

This game was from your own world so does that mean no one except him will know about this game here in Twisted Wonderland?

He's nervous but he doesn't want to miss out on his chance so he agrees for you to come over with your game

He practically rips the console out of your hands as soon as you enter his room. He can't help it, he's just so excited!

Idia strikes me as someone who's a completionist so he tries to catch every existing bug and fish as well as buy every single item and clothing article.

He doesn't really care for most of the clothes and just sells them afterwards, opting for a comfortable sweater he would wear in real life instead of any fancy victorian clothes

Will soon surpass you in your knowledge on the game to no one's surprise

He knows all of the spawn times and appearance rates of every bug and fish there is because he is dedicated to completing the museum

Every once in a while he likes to walk through the museum to admire everything that he already achieved, it fills him with a sense of pride, knowing that he was the one that did this

Ortho actually makes a character as well and plays on the same island as his big brother!

It's kind of a cute bonding experience to see Idia excitedly explain different things to Ortho as they both play together

He always wins the fishing and bug catching tournaments without fail, he spends his whole day completing the different tasks if he needs to

Always grinds out every event that comes up, getting every item available and not resting until he does so

You might actually need to pull him away from time to time because he tends to take it wag too seriously for something that is supposed to be a calm and relaxing game

Malleus

Even though he outwardly keeps a calm expression, he's actually really happy when you invite him over to show him something, even more so when he finds out he's the only person you invited! He never tends to get invited so this is something completely new to him!

Oh so his little human wants to play a game with him? He's all for it. When asking him if he has ever played a game before he answers:

"Yes, I do fancy myself a bit of a gamer myself."

He says that with a completely serious face and actually means it. Yes he has only really played that little game Lilia brought to him but that should be enough experience, right? It shouldn't be all to different to what he was used to

Now imagine his face when you show him your big ass switch. Scaly boi is overwhelmed to say the least?

"What does this button do?", he asks as he presses the home button and accidentally leaves the game before even starting.

He mentally panics when he sees the screen fade away and the the color disappear. Did he break y/n's game? How could this have happened? He doesn't want them to be mad at him, what should he do??

You just laugh at Malleus' panicked expression and quickly pressed a to re-enter the game swiftly, assuring him that he did nothing wrong

He's quite relieved by that but he's in for another shock when he sees how different this "Animal Crossing" game looks compared to the Tamagotchi graphics he was used to

He doesn't really know what he's doing but he likes talking to his villagers, they are so nice to him and don't shy away, which is still really new.

Imagine his disappointment when he walks up to his favorite villager again only for them to tell him that they don't want to talk to him right now. Boy is crushed. Did he do something wrong? Why do they hate him now?

You'll need to explain to him that he didn't do anything wrong, you just can't talk to the villager too often or they become annoyed.

We don't talk about how genuinely heartbroken he gets when one of his villagers wants to move out

His island is a mess, random furniture pieces, dinosaur skeletons and mismatched flowers everywhere. He just puts everything down as soon as he gets it. Cherished every gift he gets from his villagers and proudly displays them in his house, no matter if they don't fit together at all

Malleus likes to play at night so he can watch the night sky together with you. It reminds him of the many evenings he spent with you stargazing when no one else was awake.

It puts a gentle smile on his face as he fondly watches your sleeping face rested on his shoulder as he turns off the console to wrap an arm around you in a comforting gesture

He could get used to this, he thinks as he falls asleep next to you

Resetti has his ass the next time he turns on the game for closing the game without saving

The day [Name] arrived at Savanaclaw is the day where Leona get's another headache. Such an energetic guy.. honestly where did he got all that energy from? It's annoying. Like a child who's still learning the world around him, believing how being kind and sincere is a good thing. Meanwhile Jack and Ruggie is incredibly happy. [Name] is just such a nice guy, always willing to help, it's a nice change from how many rotten eggs are in Savanaclaw, believing that they're the "strongest."

It's even more interesting how [Name] appears to also be a lion like Leona but turned out way different. Ruggie would always joke how [Name] is the version of Leona if he was kinder. Which earned him quite the death glare. When [Name] offered a private lion dance performance. Boy is it a sight. Watching someone showing their culture and traditions are always a nice experience and seeing him go from pillar to pillar with such swift motions is quite mesmerizing. [Name] is more than happy to teach them lion dancing if they asked.

With how swift he is, [Name] instantly made his way on to the Magical Shift/Spelldrive team in Savanclaw. He's just so agile, perhaps being a lion dancer makes him quite nimble.

Leona still finds him annoying though but after some interactions, [Name] makes a wonderful sleeping buddy. How? Well somehow he always without fail found the nicest and seclusive spots for naps. [Name]'s senses are surprisingly sharper than his, which throw Leona off the loop for a moment, and just like that [Name] had officially become Savanclaw's younger brother, who ever dare lay a single finger on him will answer to the Housewarden.

Ruggie and [Name] bonded like brothers, playing pranks here and there, enjoying life. Jack is like the more responsible older brother. Ready to help, and tries to get the two of them out of trouble, he may seem mean, but he's a big softie.

Leona, Ruggie, Jack, and [Name] were at the Savanaclaw's dorm, Leona is napping like always, while Ruggie and Jack told stories of from their hometown as [Name] listens eagerly, happy to learn new things. "Oh? So it's like a folklore? Jinzhou also had one. It's called the Jingle Beast." [Name] says casually, looking out at the horizon with a faint smile, remembering it well how people use to fear such a "beast."

"They say that there's a beast somewhere out there and that when it hunts, you could hear the sound of a bell jingle. It's as simple as that really." He explains casually with a chuckle in the end. Such a silly rumor.

"Kishishishi! Really now? A Jingle Beast?" Ruggie can't help but laugh at such an interesting folklore. "Some say it's just a Suan'ni. A mystical creature that has amazing abilities. Some were skeptical though, since Suan'ni's are practically extinct now." [Name] added, looking down at the ground where they sat. This caught their attention, even Leona as he opens one eye and glance over to the three of them.

Ruggie thought about it for a moment before nodding in response, his face became more serious. "I don’t blame them. In ancient times, the world used to be a very brutal world. Suan‘nies were hunted and killed by humans for their own profit and desires. It was cruel and not fair."

[Name] remain silent for a moment, thinking back on those times. "In my own option…" He began slowly.

"The last Suan'ni might have yearn to become a human… it yanked out all of its fur, filled down its claws, twisted its bones, and learn how to stand upright." [Name] explains in a soft and melancholy tone, his gaze never leaving the ground, his ears occasionally twitched as he says those words.

"Anyway…" He paused, adding with hesitant in his voice. "It.. never really became a human in the end.."

Pure silence. Nothing but pure silence follows after that.

Ruggie and Jack look at [Name] with widened eyes, heck, even Leona had gotten up, sitting upright and looking at the other with a dumbfounded expression. They immediately picked up on what the other is implying.

Of course the Suan'ni never became a human in the end... because at the end of the day.. it is still a Suan'ni.

the students of night raven college who were with him said he helped stop the flowers ─ that he rushed to ring the bell after he realized what the flowers were. but you knew better, you knew rollo. and your gut told you they were lying ─ that whatever happened, was not the events they were telling you.

but you chose not to investigate ─ whether that was because you knew you wouldn't like what you would find out, or because you know that you wouldn't be surprised. but you do know that whatever it was, you don't think you'd do anything to make sure the real truth got out. rollo meant too much to you, you had been there for all his troubles and grief, and you wouldn't do anything to risk your friendship with him. even if that meant taking a lie to your face and living without knowing what actually happened (even if you had your suspicions).

you paused, turning your attention away from the pair to look back at your peers and the students of night raven college. you'd stopped paying attention to the conversation they were having, your attention only on rollo and how uncomfortable he so obviously was dancing with the fae prince. you followed him across the floor with your stare, the background voices of those around you fading out the longer you watched.

you'd always followed him, sharpening your magical abilities to follow him to noble bell college with the intention of being at his side. you'd joined the student council so that you were always near, so that if he ever called for you, you'd be there. you were there when he struggled to grieve after the loss, and when he stayed awake into the late hours, sitting quietly in the council room and watching the flames dance in the fireplace. you were always right there.

─ except for right now, and you hated it.

"are you alright?" they had asked, and you had half a mind to ignore them and leave. but they were your peers, a part of the student council as much as you were, and you knew rollo always strove to perform a certain amount of control that not everyone had. perhaps he had too much of an effect on you, or perhaps it was just you doing everything to stay at his side, to always be there ─ as you too tried to keep that professionalism noble bell was said to be known for.

"i'm sorry," you smiled, polite as you bowed your head and chose to ignore their questions. "but i have something i need to do. excuse me."

perhaps a part of you simply didn't care for keeping a good look past excusing yourself, as you hardly gave anyone the chance to reply to your words before you were turning away and walking off. you didn't care for the people who littered the floor in pairs, waltzing to the music that filled your ears. you hardly batted an eye their way as your attention remained on the heir and council president. you managed to maneuver the pairs with a certain ease in your steps despite urgency that you hardly masked. (you didn't think malleus was a terrible individual, but you refused to leave rollo in a situation he didn't enjoy any longer. you'd promised yourself to always be there, after all.)

you made sure to announce your presence the moment you were within distance for them to hear, clearing your throat and putting on a smile that you'd long since mastered (polite, you told yourself, you had to remain polite). "i apologize," ─ a lie, and perhaps the fae knew that too, ─ "may i interrupt? you've taken up so much time of our student president, and i must admit, i'm jealous."

their gliding had come to a stop upon your arrival, and rollo pulled away from malleus as the heir turned you, and smiled, polite, and much more genuine than your own. he bowed, and you returned it as rollo moved to stand beside you, (perhaps relieved to finally stop dancing with him).

"of course," and he looked at rollo. you felt your curiosity pull at you as you glanced between them ─ and you asked yourself what could cause such a tenseness between them that held a certain (one-sided) disdain in the air. you knew rollo held contempt towards magic and mages, but this seemed different, like an event that carried on since the start of night raven's arrival.

"thank you for the dance, flamme." and then he looked back at you, "he's all yours."

"thank you," your smile remained, and you held out a hand towards rollo, turning your head just enough to keep your attention on him but watch as malleus turned away to leave, to return to his peers. "shall we dance, rollo?"

perhaps it was because it was you, rollo didn't protest, taking your hand with a polite nod, yet a glare remained burning into the back of malleus's head, practically seething. his disdain was so uncontrolled, so unlike rollo and the persona of a respectable man he'd built up since the two of you were twelve.

"if you keep glaring, your face will get stuck." a tease, just so his attention was on you (as much as yours was always on him). so he'd step away from the distaste of the dance he shared with the heir of briar valley. so that he'd release the way he held your shoulder in a grip that wrinkled your clothing.

it worked (of course it did, you know how to get his attention, you've had years before this to try), and his glare turned to you, yet the red behind it lacked in heat, and he relaxed his hand laced with yours and his nails no longer dug into your shoulder, threatening to rip the specially designed uniform. "i will not."

you grinned, and your nose wrinkled, "you're right, you face is already stuck like that." he scoffed, and you chuckled, pulling him along further into the crowd as you led him in a dance, just like malleus had done before you.

"you should thank me, you know," you said, leaning closer to him as you spoke, eyes squinting teasingly at him, ignoring the pairs of those dancing around you. "it's not every day i ask someone to dance with me."

"i suppose i'm lucky then," it was sarcastic, but he was returning your teasing in turn; just like he's always done, even if making conversation was the last thing he wanted to do (maybe because it was you, he didn't seem to mind).

"oh, most certainly." you snickered and rollo's ever present mask slipped just for a moment to roll his eyes at you, much to use to your antics you've always been known for, teasing and playful, just like when you were kids. (perhaps he thinks you were the only who hadn't changed after the incident ─ but if he thinks that, then he obviously didn't notice how much your life had begun to center around him. he wasn't the only one who lost someone that day. you too, loved his brother ─ your friend.)

you don't know how long you'd been dancing (because admittedly, you weren't entirely lying when you said you were jealous malleus had taken up so much of rollo's attention.) but he had long since relaxed, no longer tense as he had been when dancing with malleus. perhaps he was relieved, and maybe even knew your true reason in interrupting them ─ knowing you were there to save him from anymore interaction with someone he so loathed.

you pulled him with you as you leaned back, and smiled, proud, "i expect to be repaid for my generosity in pastries by the way."

"i owe you now?" he clicked his tongue.

"of course, my presence is a reward in itself, you should be thankful i'm only asking for pastries for allowing you this dance." ─ you were kidding, of course you were, he knew that. but it didn't matter how many times you would poke and tease, telling him to buy you pastries for everything you did (your sweet tooth was something that hadn't changed about you), because he always did. even when you simply just joined him for his errands after school to fetch his favorite stationary; perhaps it was his way of thinking you for staying, for being there when no one else would.

he sighed, although it lacked any real annoyance, you could tell, "shall we stop by your favorite bakery tomorrow then?" ─ and your heart fluttered knowing he remembered such a detail; yet you ignored it.

"lovely idea, my dear rollo!" you giggled, and he rolled his eyes again.

─ yes, this was much better than what he went through with his previous dance partner.

and hopefully he knows, you'd always be there to save him from a dance he doesn't want.
