Ok, so I want to talk about the test the Star Gate presented to the Bros in Partners in Time, because I realised there is a lot more to it!

The Star Gate specifically states that he would test the adult Mario and Luigi, but not their baby selves, due to the fact they are still young.

Now this is obviously referring to the fact that the babies are well...still babies! - but this also highlights something very important:

Mario and Luigi are not the same people they were as babies.

And what I mean by that is Baby Mario and Baby Luigi have not experienced all that adult Mario and Luigi have. Adult Mario and Luigi have been through a life; growing and learning from all the challenges and adventures they've been through.

Yoshi's Island revealed that Baby Mario and Baby Luigi share a bond. A bond that allows them to stay close. A bond that ensures that they are never out of each other's thoughts and hearts. This very loving bond that allowed Mario to be there for his brother, even from a tender young age.

But overtime...a bond can change. Life can change people and their connections with others...

And this, I believe, is what the Star Gate was really testing. It wanted to know whether the Bros truly were still close, despite any challenges that arose to try and drive them apart...

And to its great relief, the test proves what the Star Gate was hoping to hear:

The bond between the Bros was never temporary. It is eternal.

i think the reason starlow wasn't in partners in time is cause the writers couldn't find a way to put her and baby mario together without baby mario literally just killing her with his hammer

i love this silly lil red italian man because hes so cute and such a comfort character i cant imagine not loving and appreciating this red man because hes so cool and cute and adorable and RAHH if this quality is ass ima cry and weep also chris pratt genuinely did pretty good in the trailer!! love him!!
