It finished at 10pm, I’m so tired…

Concert today!

I’m playing Vivaldi’s Spring, Gabriel’s Oboe (Morricone), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (R&R Sherman) and Nemo Egg (From Finding Nemo) in Orchestra. And I’m playing I Got Rhythm by Gershwin with the String Quartet.

I’m so glad I have this opportunity to play in the String Quartet, but I also do feel bad for the violinist I replaced (she broke her fingers playing volleyball against me and my team, it wasn’t my fault though)

I’ve got a quartet rehearsal at 8am, a violin lesson at 1pm, a run through for the concert at 4pm and the actual concert at 7pm. I’m going to be sick to death of my instrument my the end of the day (Concert finishes at approximately 9:30pm)

Yay Shostakovich for the win!

(I will admit the Sibelius’ violin concerto is also very nice though.)

It was a close call between Shostakovich and the Sibelius concerto, with the two concerti reaching a 50/50 split many times throughout the time that the poll was active.

I saw some Strads today in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, the Messiah Stradivarius was there and I took a picture but I can’t find it on my camera.

More calligraphy, this is a Textura Quadrata script inspired by the Manuscript - Pat. lat. 1811 from the Vatican digital archive. I somehow messed up the second line because I was scared it wouldn’t fit on my paper.
