But I digress. In a situation where he's, accidentally or otherwise, gained some sort of friendship or care about Gangle, he'd probably try to find some sort of loophole of helping her without actually hugging her or making his care apparent. For example, an idea that popped in my head is just some jack-in-the-box he happens to have with two hands that (somehow magically) hug Gangle, so it's like an indirect hug. I mean, he's Jax, he'd find some absurd way to do it!

How do you think Jax would react to Gangle asking him for a hug because she is scared?

Ah! Great question! (btw thank you so much for asking, I'm a small blog, and this is actually my first question, so it meant so much to me 🫶)

This is a difficult question. If we're staying close to canon here, I unfortunately don't think Gangle would ever ask him in the first place, even in a really scary situation. Their relationship seems to be really distant and unfriendly (by Jax's doing most likely), and I think Jax would be one to make fun of emotional vulnerability. And, with Gangle knowing this, she probably wouldn't even bother, given that Jax would probably make it worse.

(Although, if they develop a slightly better relationship in the future, Gangle asking him would be a whole different story.)

However, if the scenario did happening, there's a few ways it could go depending on the standpoint of their relationship, like if they're as close as they are in the pilot, or perhaps they gain even a wee bit of respect for or understanding of each other (as I somewhat plan to do in my comic).

Worst case scenario, he would do as I said before. Jax, being the absolute jerk he is, would laugh at her and find the request very amusing. He would maybe even go through the lengths of embarrassing her in front of the others by informing them of the situation, all while laughing his butt off, while the others may be sympathetic for Gangle and try to comfort her and yada yada.

Best case scenario, he may actually do something about it. I think the reason Jax is such a jerk is that he tries to distance himself from the others and not become too attached to anyone. Whether that's because of something that's happened in the past or just his way of coping, I'm not sure. And that's a whole other segway. I don't think Jax is fully successful in distancing himself, as he shows signs of even the slightest care in the pilot (here's a really good post about it).
