option 1: 

asami & bolin: asami does all the work, and bolin presents it. they are a perfect team.

mako & korra: they bicker constantly and cannot agree on anything. eventually mako just gives up and lets korra take complete creative control, much to his chagrin. 

option 2: 

bolin & korra: they’re like “sweet! we’re gonna crush this!” and then forget about it entirely until the day it’s due, at which point they come up with a song and dance routine so charming they manage to pass with a decent grade.

asami & mako: they both do two entirely separate projects. asami’s is objectively better, so mako just throws his out, much to his chagrin.

option 3: 

all four of them work together: mako and korra fight over the project to the point of nearly throwing hands while bolin watches, eating skittles. asami does all the work. they get an A.

Penelope being the daughter of a water nymph makes me wonder if "get in the water" is something she used to tell Odysseus. Less playfully than the sirens would but still not wholly unfamiliar.

I hope that in the next series of Avatar, the non-bender of the group will not be an inventor, but a leader and strategist without a penchant for technology and inventions. The one who holds the group together, the one everyone else rallies around during battle, the one who lays out the map on the table and points out the locals, the one who takes care of the bills. I love Asami, and I love Sokka's inventive side, but I want the next non-bender of Team Avatar to not even know how to operate a computer, but be everyone's emotional anchor and a genius strategist.
