I know im only two books into Discworld but I think im gonna start headcanoning The Luggage as Rincewind’s mean-as-fuck kind-of-shitty-but-better-than-nothing ‘therapy’ animal. Like dont get me wrong, its still The Luggage, bloodlust and all. But just imagine:

Rincewind getting hurt and Luggage spitting out medicine and bandages when he needs it, and spitting out more when its time for a fresh change

Luggage tucking itself under Rincewind’s hand and opening its lid for 4, hold for 4, and closing for 4, and repeating if Rincewind has a panic attack

Luggage growling at anyone who starts asking about anything that Rincewind does not want to talk about

Causing problems on purpose so Rincewind has to run after it (Rince doesnt take it out for a walk, it takes him out for a run! Keeps him healthy and spry!)

The Luggage setting itself in front of doors in inn rooms and such, anywhere that Rincewind doesnt feel safe at, like a guard dog. If anyone tries to catch Rince while he’s sleeping, they have to go through it first!

i could even see Luggage working as a mobility aid? A real bumpy one lol. But in case Rincewind sprains an ankle or something, it can act as a escape option.
