Summary: Hawks decides to motivate you to prepare your apartment for Christmas.
Warnings: none
Word count: 1351
Authors: Bear & Cass
A/N: today’s prompt: Decorating a House

Due to his childhood memories of Christmas, Hawks enjoyed it a lot. There was a genuine love of Christmas in his heart. Due to Keigo's unhappy childhood, he chose to keep the best, most joyful memories from the family home.
When the holiday season was at its peak, he decided to visit you to see if you needed decorating assistance.
A tune played in the background while you worked on your cookies in the kitchen.
A few knocks were heard on the balcony's door. You opened it immediately with a smile.
Hawks was standing on your balcony, leaning comfortably against a wall with his left leg bent at the knee. "Finally. I've been waiting for so long, I assumed you weren't at home."
As you walked toward him to fix his jacket's collar, you rolled your eyes. "Don't be such a drama queen and get inside. I am sure you are cold from flying around."
Before entering your living room, he brushed some snow from his wings and said, "It's chilling, certainly, but I'm used to this." After he entered and took a look around, he asked, "Wait. And what is that?"
"What is what?" You asked, eyebrow cocking as you closed the door so that more cold wouldn't enter your apartment.
He held up both hands, pointing at your living room. "This. Basically, I mean this. Your decorations, where are they?"
As you returned to the kitchen, you questioned, "Ah! You mean Christmas decorations? I don't decorate much. I'll probably put a few things on tomorrow morning, and that'll be enough for me."
At you, he made a finger gesture, raising one eyebrow. "Oh no, dear, no, no. The holiday spirit is desperately needed here."
"Aren't my special cookies enough?" You teased.
Keigo gave his chin a few taps while he was looking at you. "Oh, no, they're not sufficient, I'm afraid."
As you sighed, you questioned simply, "What's the point in decorating this place when I'll have to take it all down, pack it all up, and put it away soon?"
"Because it's enjoyable! Decorating can add charm and beauty to your area and is a lot of fun. It will spread holiday cheer in this area. It is necessary."
As you turned to him, your arms crossed over your chest as you watched him talk. Everything he said didn't make the idea of hanging stuff around for you any better. "For me it's not enjoyable."
Hawks flopped on your couch and crossed his legs. "Why is that?"
Sweetie, that's a lot of work just to take it down in a few days. The fake tree and some lights will be put up tomorrow morning," you shrugged. "I will probably spend Christmas alone, so there's no need to overdo it."
Keigo once more arched a brow. "So you won't be inviting me over or paying me a visit on Christmas Day? Is this a sign that you don't want my attention anymore?"
Your eyebrows raised as you asked, "How can I invite you when you openly announced you would work a few days ago?"
He rose from the sofa and began to circle the room. "Really, how difficult is it to comprehend? I was hoping that you would ask me for a day or two of vacation so that we could have fun, but of course you never did."
As you groaned, getting frustrated with his behavior, you said, "Keigo. I didn't ask because I know it's difficult for you to get a single day off."
"You are aware of the fact that I would stop at nothing to earn a day off for you. Come on, I'll assist you with decorating the apartment."
After a deep sigh, you rubbed the bridge of your nose. "Okay. Fine. Let it be."
"Where do you have your decorations hidden?"
"They should be in the closet. I have a big box stored there."
Hawks calmly made his way from your living room to the hallway, where you had your closet, with his hands in his pockets. He opened the door and flew up a little, using his beautiful wings to get the large, cartoon box.
"You could at least remove your shoes!" You shouted at him.
"Sorry!"
Taking a deep breath, you left your current work to assist him in the living room.
After the box was brought, Keigo placed it on the carpet and then, for you to notice, he took care to take off his shoes in a theatrical manner.
After ignoring his little show, you opened the box and took some decorations out.
Keigo looked into the package and concluded, "You have some wonderful Christmas ornaments here." He took out some glitter stars and paper chains.
"You want to see something cringy?”
"Now I'm curious," Hawks rolled his head back a little as he chuckled.
You went to your bedroom and returned a few moments later only to show him the ornament that looked like a mini version of him. With a blush, You explained, "I bought it yesterday while shopping."
He grinned, "Well, well, look at that! We have some little, decent Hawks here. I won't lie, as much as I find it sweet, it's also a little creepy, not to mention the fact that they weren't able to duplicate the beauty of my face."
"It's not my fault, you have so much merch!" You grumbled. Furthermore... I found it cute. So, Mr. Christmas Spirit, what's next?"
He threw the glitter stars at you. "Start hanging those around."
With a nod, you followed his little order and started to hang the stars around your living room.
Hawks got up and placed a few paper chains on the shelves.
As you work, you start humming a quiet tune. Once you were done, you looked at him. "I am done here."
Meanwhile, Hawks was already done with chains and some small baubles.
As you looked around, you agreed, "This actually looks nice."
"Right? Can you feel the Christmas spirit now?"
Shrugging, you replied, "Not really, but I like how it looks."
Hawks came to you and booped your nose. "Don't make me ask that again?"
The nose boop made you giggle. "Oh, okay, fine. I kinda feel it!"
He stole a kiss from your lips, humming.
You booped him in the nose this time. "I'll get the tree. Just so you know, it's a fake one."
Keigo sat back on the carpet and dug further through the box.
Dragging the tree back to the living room took some time. You set it up straight and put it in its proper position with a loud groan. "Here. Did you find anything interesting in the box?"
"Just more baubles," he raised his head, and you could see two baubles hanging off his ears.
"You really like Christmas, don't you?"
"Yes... The only happy childhood recollections I have are of these times."
You kissed his cheek, removing the ornaments from his ears with a small smile. "Let's make it a good memory this year too. Let's decorate the tree together."
Keigo worked tirelessly to adorn your tree with decorations, chains, and other trinkets he discovered inside a box. Hawks placed his arm around you and got out his phone to take a picture of you with the tree in the background after it had been fully adorned.
Just to get a picture, you laughed and kissed his cheek. Then you looked over your shoulder and rubbed his shoulder. "Babe, we forgot something. Can you lift me up?" You asked with a gold star in your hand.
Hawks took you into his arms and used his wings to lift you both up to the tree's top.
With a happy sound, you placed the star on top of the tree and clapped your hands.
There was a certain charm to this whole thing, and it certainly gave you a feeling of Christmas cheer. "Now it's perfect."
Hawks kissed your cheek briefly and nuzzled your neck after landing back on the floor with you, setting you down carefully. "Merry Christmas, little doll."
Before kissing him, you said, "Merry Christmas to my hero."

The Best Is Yet To Come || Lo’ak x fem!Metkayina reader
Summary: finally, Lo'ak opens up about his true feelings, not only about the Payakan situation, but also regarding you 💙
Warnings: none, pure fluff & Neteyam interrupting the confession of Lo'ak's feelings for the reader 😤
Word count: 2203
Author: Rouge
A/N: prior to reading, it’s important to know that: the reader is female Metkayina ✤ there is no particular feeling between Lo'ak & Tsireya - he’s more interested in the reader ✤ Neteyam’s into Tsireya ✤ you'll find a glossary underneath the fic

The reefs of Pandora were more than breathtaking. The reef amazed you with its diversity, with its wide range of different colors, as well as many types of creatures living there. Having been Metkayina, you have been taught to look beyond the mundane. Water was both life and death, so to immerse yourself in this very specific kind of relationship with it was indispensable.
It was not anticipated that newcomers would arrive, especially forest people, Omaticaya. With Tsireya's assignment to show the newcomers their new home, you also took part in this task. Truthfully, you were curious about this new family that was about to settle among Metkayina. As opposed to your clan - their hands were slimmer and less muscular; their tails had funny fur covering the tips, and they had thinner legs. There was no doubt in your mind that they would have difficulty adapting to your environment.
Nevertheless, within a few weeks, the Sully family made great progress - they learned to ride ilu and how to fish, and Jake Sully's youngest son even developed an unusual relationship with Payakan, a tulkun outcast.

Sunset came in its boldest blaze, as if Eywa had painted rainbow-flames across the evening sky. You were coated in a light mist of salty air from the ocean breeze, blowing gently towards the shore. Sitting on the sand with Tsireya and Lo'ak, who grew closer to the two of you, you watched the eclipse coming across the sky; throughout the area, beautiful turquoise and violet hues began to appear.
"The thought of Payakan choosing you still baffles me," Tsireya whispered to Lo'ak.
With a single nod, you also glanced at the young Omaticaya. "Tsireya's right. It seems to me that Eywa has something great planned for you, Lo'ak."
As he listened to both of your words, young Omaticaya nodded his head occasionally; some of his braids moved back and forth as he did. "I still don't understand why your clan refuses to accept Payakan's innocence."
There was an exchange of glances between you and Tsireya.
Taking a moment to calm herself, Tsireyspoke. "Loak," she started gently, "You know he is the one responsible for those deaths, according to the Tulkun Way."
"It's unfair," he replied, shrugging within his arms as he traced shapes in the sand with one of his fingers.
As if to ease his anger and sorrow, she placed her palm on his shoulder and whispered, "This is how it is, Lo'ak."
After letting out a deep sigh, the young man got up. "Even though I understand, I find it highly unfair that he must pay for the rest of his life for fighting against sawtute." When Lo’ak had finished speaking, he walked along the shoreline alone, leaving you and Tsireya behind.
Tsireya looked after Lo’ak while he walked away. "He's so upset. I don't know how to cheer him up."
You got up and dusted the sand crystals off your legs, saying "I'll try to speak with him once more."
Tsireya nodded in acknowledgement. "I think it's worth a try. Just remember to be gentle."
"I always am," you laughed and hugged your best friend before attempting to locate Lo'ak.
_________________
Not long afterwards, you spotted him petting his ilu while sitting on a wooden pier, almost outside the village. You watched him from a distance for a while. Tsireya was right - he was extremely upset over the situation with his spirit brother. As you were considering leaving him alone there so he could collect his thoughts and find his inner peace again, he spotted you out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head to you and laughed lightly, "Have you ever been told how bad you are at sneaking up on people?"
As you approached him, you spread your arms wide. "Too many times, actually," you replied with a shrug. As you sat beside him, you rubbed your hands together and put your legs in the water. "Lo'ak, listen, I know that..."
"I appreciate both you and Tsireya's efforts to comfort me, but..." He paused to rub his temple. "It's not that easy, I'm sure you understand my point of view."
While you gazed at Lo'ak's sadness written on his face, you said, "I understand, even though it might sound foolish. I truly understand how you feel."
A hollow look crossed his face as he watched the horizon, asking, "Do you really?"
“Sran, Lo’ak. Oel ngati kameie.”
Lo'ak looked directly at your face bathed in the last rays of the setting sun after he stopped petting his ilu's head. The way he stared at your huge eyes made it seem as if he was trying to glean every little sparkle from them. There was an obvious attempt to express a thought, but he could not find the appropriate words to do so, so he continued looking at your face, moving his gaze from your eyes to your cheekbones and lips. “Listen…”
With your palm raised, you signaled him to remain silent. While your palm rested on his chest, your eyes were never taken away from his. "Listen to me now, please. The tulkuns were violent creatures who fought among themselves for territory and revenge during the time of the First Songs, one of the earliest recollections of Na'vi history. This way of life was eventually abandoned by the tulkuns, who adopted a pacifistic philosophy in which killing is strictly forbidden, even if it is justified, as in self-defense cases. Thus, any tulkun who acts against the Tulkun Way and kills is outcast from the tulkuns. The tulkuns and my clan share a close relationship, as you might have heard, so any outcast tulkuns are rejected by us as well. It is nonetheless my strong belief that Payakan will have an opportunity to make amends, sooner nor later."
Lo'ak held his breath without even realizing it as his eyes widened. As you spoke in a reassuring tone, Lo'ak's heart calmed a little; the belief you had that Payakan could atone eased Lo'ak's soul as well. "Do you really think it would happen, Y/N?"
“Yes.” Lo'ak grew quiet as he thought once again about everything you had said. Having anxious thoughts was like riding an ikran around the village over and over again, faster and faster - it was more than pointless, so the young Omaticaya decided to push them out of his mind. In view of the beautiful eclipse that swept over the world, Lo'ak raised his head up, letting a quiet sigh out. "I strongly believe that Eywa knows... That Eywa knows he was innocent and tried to fight back after his mother and friends were killed."
Initially hesitantly, you took his five-finger palm in yours and squeezed it tightly, smiling at him. "Would you be kind enough to smile for me, Lo'ak? I don't like it... I mean, my clan don't like it when our guests are sad."
Observing your face as carefully as he could, he tilted his head to one side, considering your words. "Do they really worry about me or is it you who are concerned?" He mused.
Oh! There were moments when you wished you weren't so sensitive, that you could conceal your emotions more easily; within an instant, your cheeks were rosy and your hidden emotions were evident to everyone around. Those yellowish eyes of his were fixed on you; they were the most beautiful and understanding you've ever seen. “Lo’ak…” You started, but he touched your cheek, he rubbed his thumb against your skin, making you hold back your breath and nuzzle against his palm a tiny bit.
"Oeru lu fpom. I'm glad I met you. My family is so fortunate to have you and Tsireya as friends. You seem like such a sweet person," he complimented.
You whispered, "Oh, stop it" but his closeness had an unusual influence on you; your heart pounded as if you were being chased by akula, your skin was hot, and your pupils dilated. "I like you too, Lo'ak," you whispered back.
Suddenly Lo'ak leaned forward and gently placed his lips against yours, without a thought in his mind.
Initially, you blinked, surprised, but soon lost yourself in the sensation. Despite being messy and uncertain, his kiss was sweet and full of promises of a better tomorrow. During the kiss, you were at your most pure and vulnerable selves. There were a million loving thoughts condensed into one moment in that kiss. His lips tasted like the sweetest nectar you've ever tasted. Immediately after the kiss was broken, you looked into his eyes hesitantly, just like he did. “Lo’ak…”
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have kissed you," he apologized, gathering his composure as he rose from the pier.
"No, no, Lo'ak!" You blinked and got up as well, following him.
Lo'ak's ilu put his head over the surface of the water to observe the situation.
“I'm so sorry, I have no idea what I was guided by. I didn't want to sully your honor," he said, getting from the pier to the sandy beach.
"Lo'ak!" you yelled as you tried to stop him.
The young Omaticaya took no notice at all and tried to walk away as quickly as he could.
"Lo'ak te Suli Tsyeyk’itan!" You shouted after him.
It was only that that made him pause and look back at you.
As you approached him, you shook your head in disbelief. Observing him with your bluish eyes, you asked, "You kissed me and now you are running away? You, the one who survived meeting with Payakan alone? What is it that you are afraid of?”
As he avoided your gaze, Lo’ak whispered, "Rejection. Rejection is what I fear most."
You took a hold of his palms, squeezing them, fixing your eyes on his face. "Please, hear me out, Lo'ak. I need you to know that you matter. Not only to me, but to the fate of this planet. You need to acknowledge your worth. Be confident. Start feeling the difference you actually make," you reached out and touched his cheek lightly, your other hand was put to his chest. “As I told you before, oel ngati kameie. The confidence and certainty you feel about your own self is what I want to see from you, for I admire you, my dear. And about the kiss... Your belief that you sullied my honor is terribly misguided,” you chuckled lightly, blushing yet again.
"I thought you didn't like it," Lo'ak replied, licking his lips as they became so dry he could no longer bear the feeling.
"I've been kissed a few times before," you told him openly, "but none have been as heartwarming and perfect as yours." You could see the gratitude within the sparkles of joy in his eyes.
"Look at that! I didn't know my little bro is such a skilled kisser!" Suddenly, a vibrant tone came from behind, and you saw no one else but Neteyam, Lo'ak's older brother, approaching you.
Your anger about Neteyam destroying the moment full of trust and thrill made you grin at him a little too wryly. "Neteyam."
As Lo'ak asked, his tone was filled with anger, "What are you doing here?"
"What am I doing here? It's well after the eclipse, and mother is worried about you," the older brother explained with a shrug. “Come on, let’s get you back home.”
Upon seeing his brother's smug grin, Lo'ak rolled his eyes and requested, "Just give us a minute."
When Neteyam walked away into the substantial distance, Lo'ak focused on you again. "I was wondering if you would like to hang out tomorrow? We might go to Payakan.”
"I think I'll be able to join you if you help me with fishing and net weaving," you told him with a smile, but deep inside you were really more than thrilled by the thought of spending more time with Lo’ak.
"You got it!" He smiled eagerly, and kissed you again, harder this time.
The actions of Lo'ak had not gone unnoticed by Neteyam, who whistled a few times. "Well, well, look at you, kiddos! It might be a good idea for me to tell mother to start preparing for your wedding, bro. Love is in the air!”
"Lay off of him, Neteyam," you warned as you leaned closer to him, "Or I'll have to open up about what I saw a few days ago."
In an instant, Neteyam stopped grinning; his eyes narrowed, turning into tiny gaps. "Don't you dare, Y/N."
Lo'ak exclaimed, "Hey, I wanna know!"
A smirk danced around your lips as you looked hardly at Neteyam and said, "Your older brother was making out with Tsireya."
Lo'ak chuckled loudly and opened his eyes wider. "Knew it! I saw you staring at her. Look at you, bro, you aren't wasting your time."
After shaking his head and groaning loudly, Neteyam turned and walked away, gesturing at Lo'ak to follow.
Lo'ak kissed your cheek briefly. "See you tomorrow!" He bid you farewell as he chased after his brother, lining up with him shortly after.
While watching him leave, your heart raced within your chest. There was no doubt in your mind that the best was yet to come.

An Icy Adventure || Steven Grant x fem!reader
Masterlist ❄

Summary: One winter day, you decide to surprise Steven with a little ice skating lesson
Warnings: none
Word count: 1592
Author: Rouge
A/N: today’s prompt: go ice skating on a frozen lake

You loved winter. There was something crystalline about winter, those brilliant rays that revealed every snowflake's uniqueness. You were surrounded by puddles that became temporary skating rinks and your thoughts were secluded within your favorite woolen hat. There was anticipation of the joys to come in that wonderland of white, in that frozen water-world, of learning new ways to move gracefully over such a landscape.
When Steven agreed to stroll in Hyde Park, to the Serpentine, you felt overwhelmed with happiness.
You chose a thick, woolen sweater with a reindeer theme, a fitted, black, strapped shirt beneath it, and thick, high-waisted jeans for your date. Black leather, high-heeled winter boots, a thick, brown jacket on top and your favorite black, woolen hat with a fluffy pompon completed your outfit.
Steven looked around at all the snow that had fallen last night. Although it wasn't much, it gave the place a certain winter charm. Despite the cold, it wasn't that bad for him, especially when he was you. "Y/N!" He smiled and waved at you. "Isn't it pleasant to be all bundled up and cozy?"
After climbing your tiptoes, you told Steven, "Yes, I am," and placed a brief kiss on his cheek; Steven was taller than you. Immediately after, you grabbed his gloved hand - you had gifted him with a pair of woolen gloves made of Egyptian cotton with a floral motif that he wore a lot when the temperature dropped below 5°.
Trying to cover your ears with your hat, he worriedly inquired, "You sure you aren't cold? I don't want you to catch a cold.
"Steven, you are being silly. It's not that cold today, and we're going to move a lot," you replied, pointing at a backpack on your back. "I brought some things that might help us though. I also made you a tea, I have it in a thermal mug inside."
He smiled and kissed your gloved hand, saying, "You are my little angel. Nevertheless, I am worried about you."
Due to your flat's proximity to Hyde Park, the stroll was quick and easy. "Wondering what activity I've chosen for us?" A smirk spread across your lips.
A soft shrug was given by Steven as he chuckled. "Although I am sure it is wonderful, I'm a little wary of your idea due to your eagerness."
While walking past the snow-covered bench, you stopped, put your backpack on it, and slowly unzipped it, letting Steven peek inside. In the backpack, there were two pairs of skates. One pair was white and larger, and the other was black, shorter.
The two pairs of pretty skates made him blink; of course you mentioned your little hobby in the beginning of your relationship, but he felt lost now. "Love, those are beautiful, but are you going to invite someone else? I mean, I see two pairs. You skate, but I don't." Seeing your smiling face, Steven paused. So that's what you were planning. "I love you a lot, Y/N, but I can't skate. I prefer my limbs to remain intact."
As you cupped his face in your gloved hands and rubbed his cheeks with your thumbs, you said, "I know you're a little concerned, but I want you to trust me, nothing will happen to you, and we'll have a great time!"
"I can't even tie those bloody skates right," he shook his head, looking at you. "In all honesty, I'd rather just watch you."
"Let's make a deal: I'll skate first, and you'll watch. I'll show you a few steps, and if you feel okay, you can try as well."
"I like the sound of that,” Steven agreed.
"Despite the fact that skating on ice seems intimidating, if you have the right equipment and a little patience, you can learn how to do it!" You told Steven as you led him to the frozen lake.
On the frozen surface of the lake, several people were already ice skating.
Playing with his hands, Steven questioned, "Aren't you afraid the ice will break? Or that you'll break a leg or an arm?"
On the edge of the frozen lake, you sat in the snow, you pulled out the black skates; after that, you started putting them on, replacing your winter boots with them. "No, Steven, because if I thought negatively, I would draw bad luck. That's why I think positively," you replied. "There were almost three weeks of bitter cold, don't you remember? The ice is thick enough to support the weight of a very well-built man."
In response, Steven nodded and continued to play with his hands. "Yeah, yea, I bet you're right, luv."
His attention was drawn to the way you tied your skates. He mumbled a quiet 'bloody hell' and then sat next to you. In a nervous giggle, Steven pointed at the skates and asked, "Can you help me with those? Kind of like Cinderella..."
Disbelief filled your eyes - you never expected him to actually try ice skating with you! As you reached into your backpack to retrieve the other pair of skates, a quiet giggle escaped your lips. "You will be my Cinderella, and I will be your Prince Charming. So, my lady, please take off the shoes and put them on. Once you are done, please let me know and I will lace them up for you."
Steven removed his shoes and took skates from you to put them on with blush on his face.
When he nodded at you, indicating he was ready, you knelt down and started lacing the skates. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just a little stressed, but I'm fine overall."
"Do you remember what I told you about stress?"
While you helped him get up, Steven murmured, "I know it's bad and I shouldn't let it eat me alive, but you know me. Wow! How do you even walk in those?"
As a first step, you showed him how to fall safely. During your presentation, you told him, "Falling is part of the sport, so it's natural to fall. If you fall with the right technique, you won't get injured. When you anticipate needing to fall, bend your knees and squat into a dip position, then fall sideways, leaning forward, and place your hands on your lap. When you fall, roll over onto your hands and knees."
Steven watched and listened, trying to remember everything you said. Maybe Marc could use a bit of the know-how to make their body a bit less bruised after another chance behind the wheel. "Okay, noted. Let's hope I won't need them, but I'll keep them in mind. So... Uhm... Shall we?" Grant asked, taking your hand.
When he took his first step on the ice, you helped stabilize him while holding strongly to his palms. You grabbed his hips as soon as his leg started sliding forward. He soon added a second leg and grabbed your shoulders, holding them rigidly. "Straighten your back, breathe," you instructed.
Following your instructions, Steven nodded, somehow managing to stand straight. "Look at me! I'm still standing."
A lot of praise was given to him and then you instructed him on how to move on ice. "March two steps forward and let your body glide forward slightly. Repeat until you feel comfortable. This is called gliding."
As he complied with your instructions, Steven said quietly to himself, "Two steps... Let your body glide." Upon realizing he wasn't falling on his butt yet, he chuckled. "Look at me! I'm doing it!"
"Congratulations! My good boy!"
Sadly, Steven's happiness lasted only a short while because as soon as you finished your praise, he fell right on his butt.
You couldn't stop giggling, but as soon as you attempted camel spin by spinning one leg and your upper body parallel to the ice - you lost your balance and fell on your ass as well. "Oh, bollocks!"
As Steven struggled to get up slowly, he exclaimed, "Aha?! You see? That's what you get for laughing at me?! I bet it will hurt tomorrow."
After the unfortunate fall, you felt a burning sensation on your tailbone, but your heart was full of joy - Steven was getting the basics in no time and was doing very well for his first time on ice. "It's almost certain to me that the student will surpass the master soon, my dearest love!" You sent Steven the warmest smile while slowly getting up.
A shy smile danced on Steven's lips as the blush crept over his cheeks, turning them red within a blink of an eye. "Oh, love, no, this will never happen, I assure."
Slowly, you glided towards him and wrapped your arms around his neck. "My love for you will never change, Steven Grant, even if you won't become a figure skater."
Steven tilted his head and took one of his gloves off, tapping your nose gently before saying, "And I love you just as much, Y/N, even if you always select dangerous activities for our spare time."
As the two of you shared a passionate kiss, you gently pushed off Steven, loosened your knees just a bit, glided backwards and slowly started to spin, spreading your arms slowly.
He could only glide forward slowly, just as you taught him while observing you; all of your movements were so gently and weighted, and you were moving lightly like a petal of a rose dancing in the wind.
Steven realized at this exact moment that his love for you was immeasurable.

Knitted Christmas Sweaters || modern!Ivar the Boneless x fem!reader
Masterlist ❄

Summary: It appears that Ivar is unhappy with the gift he received from you, but once he learns about your motives, he changes his mind.
Warnings: none
Word count: ~ 570
Author: Fenrir
A/N: today’s prompt: Matching Christmas Sweaters

In Ivar's mind, he knew that his low mood was just that... His. While his brain could come up with a thousand plausible reasons why someone else was at fault, Ivar had to take responsibility for his feelings and the path to getting himself out of feeling so blue. You made things uncomfortable for him, especially during the Christmas/Yule holiday season, by making him do pointless and pathetic tasks such as picking out a Christmas tree, baking gingerbread and decorating your flat.
And now this. When he looked in the mirror for the last time, he uttered an unhappy grunt - he wore a red, woollen sweater with a reindeer motif. This piece of clothing was only nice because the sweater was fluffy and kept Ivar warm. "There is no way in hell I'm going out like this!" Ivar shouted loudly, making sure you would hear him through the closed bathroom door. No way, babe, I look like a fucking idiot!"
You leaned your back against the wall, waiting for Ivar to stop acting like a child. You were standing in the corridor of your shared flat, so sweetly encouraging him, "Oh, honey, you look absolutely cute, I bet! Get out, please!" You knitted him a sweater, but he threw a tantrum when you gave it to him. Again.
After another sigh, Ivar ran his hand through his thick, dark hair and left the bathroom. He opened the door and stepped forward, resting his hands on his hips. "There's a reindeer on it, and I hate them. As a whole, I'm not a fan of sweaters."
Without unnecessary words, you grabbed his palm and led him to the living room. After pushing him into the couch, you told him to stay there while you disappeared into another room. Soon, you returned to him, wearing exactly the same sweeter, but in a smaller size. "Look, I knitted both of them so we'd have a matching thing." When you spoke, your voice became low and he could hear your sadness.
As you explained everything to Ivar, he felt even worse for acting like a wayward child. He got up from his place and slowly limped to you, immediately wrapping his hands around your waist. "Baby, I didn't know. I didn't mean to, though. Don't be mad, please?"
Taking a few long moments to gaze into his blue eyes, you smiled barely. "I'm not mad, but I hoped secretly you'd enjoy the gift. I apologise that it's not as fancy as the PlayStation 5 Ubbe gifted you with."
As Ivar kissed the bridge of your nose, he took your face in his palms. "It's a much better gift, silly. Do you know why? It's the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me, because you made it yourself and put effort and your heart into making it. At least we have matching sweaters now." With his palm firmly gripping yours, he led you into the corridor where a huge mirror hung. As he gazed at your reflections, he leaned his head down and placed his chin on top of your head as he stood in front of the mirror with you. "Just look at us. We're two cuties wearing reindeer sweaters."
Laughing, you turned in his arms, wrapped your arms around his neck, and kissed his cheek. "Despite being a dick most of the time, you are sometimes tooth-rooting cute. I love you, Ivar."
