First Time For Everything, She Calmly Affirmed As She Clanked Her Drink Against His. She Anticipates

“First time for everything,” She calmly affirmed as she clanked her drink against his. She anticipates this to be one of the many firsts. She didn’t take a sip out of her drink immediately, part of her still unsure after all these years. But only after a couple minutes of settling in and becoming accustomed did she slowly take her time with the drink.

“I’m retiring from my position in MI5, these past few years have only been devoted to trying to reacclimate to civilian life. So I got a job as a coroner, and maybe one day I’ll move back to Seattle in the states. It’s where I was born,” She answered tracing the rim of the drink with her tattooed hand. She wondered if he’ll ever catch onto the hint that she’s immortal, even though she will not be for any longer. He’s older now, and this is something he can know now.

“I think you’re probably the only kid I tried helping” after you, I got involved in berlin in between the west and the east,” “There was a family in the east--with two girls and a baby,  I smuggled them out but I never heard from them again, so I guess it means I did something right

“If it makes you feel better we can always glitter bomb a couple of unsuspecting lieutenants the day before inspection if this doesn’t go well,” She answered as clicking can be heard from fastening Lucie’s backpack, filled with little sparkly canisters. 

She had been up all night getting the final touches ready and these glitter bombs. But she’s also had concerns about how this whole plan would pull off. It didn’t matter, cause this is in the now, and whatever came next, she’d help him deal with it.

“But isn’t it nice for a change? To confess something good? ‘

She places a hand on JD’s shoulder. She had started getting used to touching people again, something that had become so foreign after Jean’s death.

“Just start simple, a ‘how are you doing’ could help start it off. Remember you’re a lot braver than me for doing the one thing I could never do with Jean.”

“ Try and breathe slow and think nice thoughts like a good memory. But filter it out in your head before saying anything. The last thing we want is to overload the guy ok?” 

Lucie scoots around, in the elation of the new accessory on her back, containing playthings for anyone who comes near. She wants to go, and have fun, but only when Shima gives the clear can she let loose. 

“It’s gonna be ok. Even if it doesn’t turn out well, it will still be ok. Want me to give you a little push?”

Even with the highest security, something was bound to fuck up. That happens, but it wasn’t fair to anyone to complain and bitch about it. It wouldn’t do any good, so the next best thing to do was to work through the shitstorm that this whole thing was. It wasn’t his fault, nor was it hers, but now they had to deal with it. It wouldn’t do any good if a blame

“Guess we should grab a flashlight or two then. In case the day drags onto the night,” She suggests. From her experiences, her missions either finished up quickly or took longer provided they were treated without underestimating them. Wherever they were going, it was unknown territory

“We disagree sometimes, but that’s family for you. We have to clean up in case any of our relatives from Germany stop by,” She answered turning to him.

“What about you? How’s your family going?”

This she repeats, curious to know what his ‘family’ gets on to. Since they were working together, she also wanted to know more, even though this cold war called for no sympathies. Even for those on the same side.

“Dividing and conquering? It’s worth a shot, so here’s hoping.”

She looked back at the one called Cody. Here was a man, no more than a remnant of a war that seemed like yesterday. A war that felt like it ended today, only to pave way for another that would bring an end to everything. In a way of uncertainty. Anytime the future seemed uncertain, somehow friends could be found to help through with the troubled times. For now, she sees Cody as a potential friend.

And she hopes with them, she can make sure Lincoln stays her friend. And she’s gonna need a lot of hope, because of the feeling that it may not be enough to help him. Walking to a shelf, she rummages through until she finds a blaster. 

“In case, your lightsaber and Jedi tricks don’t work in certain situations.”

She says this as she tosses the blaster to Kenobi. A gift to a friend before they partake in journey of the unknown. She looks to Cody.

“You gonna be ok with all this?”

“Well…Shit…”

As calmly as she says this, she’s equally scared now. She had known that the Dark side could take him to an edge and push him to a point of no return. There’s the chance th

“I’d understand if he was angry and wanted to ensure the Marcanos didn’t kill anymore, but the Hutts? They deal with everyone, and if there’s a chance they dealt with his killers…”

She stops a second shaking her head “I gotta go find him. Make sure he’s away from the edge. I don’t know how much the Hutts know to provide…but I bet they’ll do anything to keep him leashed.”

She started to gather her things and mentally makes a plan to go to Tatooine trying to figure out the fastest route there. Shima may not have known how to those responsible, but there had to be options. She knows Lincoln needs this, but she wants to make sure he has this the right way.

“You’re more than welcome to come, but if you don’t…I’ll let you know how it goes.”

“No, but I always assume he is rather than assuming he’s not. It’s better to prepare for the worst. If there is a way, then assume he’s either looking for one or he’s already found it.”

“Is there anything relating to the mythos of your gods that there is such a thing to kill a god?”

“I wanted to try a couple new places. The old ones usually made me reminisce on good times. And the bad ones. So I wanted somewhere new without it. I guess it isn’t working,” She answered tiredly shrugging.

She leaned back letting out a sigh. Dana almost felt selfish for wanting to open up to him. A complete stranger who’s going out of his way to check on someone like her.

“I know you wanna help, but what I’ve done and lived through, are things I’ve never told anyone for so long, even the ones close to me. I don’t know how to open up to a stranger or a friend. So I’m sorry, I don’t know how to say them aloud to you.”

She thinks, thinking of the things she can say, something to lead to her ultimate tragedies, something that can slowly break the ice without breaking him. Maybe she can begin with something like this.

“It’s left me with a couple mental and trust issues, for the most part, I’ve been ok thanks to my dog, Lucie. She helps me even on the bad days. Even then it just sucks constantly.”
