Day 1: Opposite

I'm going to try to participate in #AllThatYouCanDrawgust2021 by making a flat illustration for every prompt

Let's see how far I can get! Probably farther than I could get if I had to shade. I don't like shading

The first prompt was Opposite! Thought process below the cut :)

Opposite makes me think of black and white/checkers so I designed a dress in black and white. Then, the concept of black and white made me want to draw a biracial (black and white specifically) person wearing the dress!

The large majority of my OC's wind up being racially ambiguous cause that's just how I roll (as a biracial, racially ambiguous-looking guy m'self). But this time I made her biracial with intent.

I gave her my hair, my sister's skin color, my friend's (also biracial) nose, and a bunch of miscellaneous features from some biracial models I looked up. Also elf ears :)

Not much to say for the dress. Black and white, yo! With gold~

Meet Martín Alfonso Valentine De Las Uvas

A.K.A Dr.Mav (pronounced like mauve) (He/They)

He's got a real purple/grape/wine aesthetic (but doesn't even like wine, that's grape juice)

He's Latino on one parent's side and Italian & Spanish on the other. He has a few sisters whom he's very protective of (but he's also a bit of a scaredy cat). They all learned to sew when they were young so now Dr. Mav sews his own suits and things. He loves the idea of leeches but he's too squeemish to keep them himself. He'll enjoy from afar
