TheHappySpaceman Reviews - The Wall - Live in Berlin

Because when TheHappySpaceman thinks of Pink Floyd’s The Wall, he thinks of Cyndi Lauper and Bryan Adams! Also, he is put on trial by the Pink Floyd fanbase.

Would You Like to See Me Post More Videos?

Hi all!

So there has been some recent good news in my life. First thing is first: I now have a job! Well, actually two jobs. I will explain them to you in detail.

First of all, there’s a local community theater troupe called Live Arts. They’re putting on a stage production of the musical Dreamgirls, and they have asked me to be the rehearsal accompanist! This would mean that I would go to rehearsals and play piano for the songs. Needless to say, I accepted; I’m good at piano and the pay is nice, so why wouldn’t I?

The second job is actually more of an internship. You may recall me posting pictures of the Bye-Bye Bowie Tribute and Wake. That took place at the IX Art Park, a local public park that serves as an art gallery, art museum, and performing arts center. Anyway, I now have an internship there working for the IX’s executive director Brian Wimer! Those of you that watch my reviews may remember him as the director of Eat Me: The Musical. I plan on doing both of these jobs; their times do not overlap.

This brings me to some bad news. As you know, one of my resolutions for 2016 was to upload more videos. As it is, I have already uploaded two three videos this year: my reviews of One Direction: This Is Us and High School Musical, and my countdown of the Top Six TheHappySpaceman Moments of 2015. I’ve also mentioned that I’m in the planning stage for my music video for the song “Succubus.” But here’s a problem: scripted videos like that aren’t exactly easy to make, and with my cramped schedule now that I have two jobs, I might not be able to post as much scripted content as I would like.

So now comes the part where I ask you, my fans, a question: if I started making shorter, unscripted videos, would you watch them? I’ve been considering this for a while, as I’ve noticed that all the popular YouTubers post videos more frequently than my usual once-a-month schedule, and while I have been posting more reviews, they are only gaining views for my THSReviews account. I’m not planning on quitting music videos or reviews, of course—those are still the main videos I post—I’m just planning on making these unscripted videos in addition to them.

There would be two types of these videos:

Song covers. Before I started making videos of my original songs, I would make videos of me covering rock songs. I’m thinking of doing some of that again. Granted, these covers would have to be of a higher quality, and they won’t just be me on a dinky piano playing a song. These covers will probably feature me playing multiple instruments on the same song. I’m also thinking that I could do some mashups of different songs—I have a ten-song mashup in mind.

Music-related vlogs. These will just be short videos of me talking about music and music-related topics. Some titles I have in mind are “The Challenge of Making Music Videos,” “Great Moments from the Indie Music Business,” “The Internet and Indie Music,” “The ‘Alternative’ Label,” and things like that. These videos will also have illustrations or animations by me, so it won’t just be me talking to a camera and so I won’t have to resort to jumpcuts.

What do you guys think of these ideas? Would you watch these videos if I started making them?

Thanks for reading!

What are your thoughts on BBC's Sherlock?

Hey, my first Tumblr question! Though it’s sadly not about a subject I am familiar with because honestly, I don’t get cable out in the woods where I live. I wish I could be more knowledgeable on the subject, but it’s bound to be better than the 2010 Sherlock Holmes movie from The Asylum.
