when you’re stuck on a scene, beat writer’s block and increase your count simultaneously by describing the same scene from the point of view of every character and inanimate object present until the block passes

One of my favorite things about writers is that you can post any vaguely relatable “writer’s problems” sentiment and writers will use it to call themselves out. It’s like going up to a stranger of a fellow writer and saying, “Hey, are you down to absolutely roast yourself?” And the answer is always an enthusiastic, unwavering, “Oh, hell yes, let me tell you about this fuckin’ bitch.” 

Me: If I want to foreshadow this well, I have to be subtle.

Also me: The masquerade ball was TO DIE FOR. Evangeline descended the stairs in her BLOOD RED dress, her smile SHARP LIKE A KNIFE. Her entire outfit was a HEART-STOPPER and if LOOKS COULD KILL, everyone would have DIED…to DEATH.
