intertwining your fingers together, heeseung guided you to the living room, where you discovered a table filled with snacks and two cups of hot chocolate. the latter had everything prepared before your arrival, without you realizing it before. he settled down on the sofa, patting his lap so that you take a seat on top of him. gently and tenderly, he placed a few kisses along your jaw, playing with a few strands of your hair between his long and delicate fingers.

you felt your heart pounding like crazy in your chest, suddenly realizing how much heeseung meant to you. your hands rested on his cheeks, and you kissed him lovingly, even feeling him smile against your lips. when you pulled away from each other, his brown eyes lost in yours, his sweet voice said these three little words that meant a lot to you. and with the smile of an idiot in love, you whispered an « i love you » filled with sincerity, making him smile even more.

heeseung's smile was one of the main reasons of the long list of things that made you fall in love with him.

a/n: this was requested by my heeseung-biased friend and after discovering seori's lovers in the night thru her collab with txt, i knew exactly what to write.

things between you and heeseung were...strange.

being coaches at a pretty well-known dance studio, the two of you were essentially co-workers. that alone meant there are certain boundaries you're not meant to cross. but, your dance studio prided itself in being a "family", so naturally, everyone grew closer and went beyond the co-worker bond.

you got along pretty well with everyone, even the junior coach, ni-ki, who you immediately unofficially adopted as your sort-of little brother. jay, another one of your fellow coaches was also fun to be with and was usually the one to suggest karaoke night to all of the coaches. he paid for everyone, anyway, so no one refused.

but, heeseung was a different story.

the two of you are friendly enough. you even held a collab class once. perhaps that was what made things so weird in the first place. suggesting a couple dance might have not been the best idea, but it seemed fun at the time, and heeseung readily agreed.

it was all innocent and lighthearted at first, but the way you'd catch heeseung staring at you through the mirror, his hands coming up to rest on your hips as he calls for the class to do one more run, had your stomach churning in an oddly pleasing way. he'd smile at you every chance he could, asking if you were alright, and not wanting to seem weird about it, you'd answer with a simple 'yes', opting to ignore the mystery feeling blooming in your chest.

things took a downturn when heeseung offered to take you home after a fun get-together with all of the (legal) in-house coaches. as usual, jay paid for nearly everything, and of course, alcohol was involved. ni-ki threw a proper tantrum at that, saying everyone his age was out drinking, anyway, but heeseung and the other older guys weren't having it.

heeseung's apartment was around the same area as yours, and not wanting to turn down such a gentlemanly gesture, you agreed to let him bring you home.

heeseung called for a cab that night, offering to take the front seat, but being a little more than slightly inebriated, you hurriedly said no, saying it was alright for him to hop into the backseat with you. in fact, you'd prefer it that way. heeseung paused at this, but ultimately climbed into the backseat with you.

the first five minutes of the ride home was silent, with the radio not even turned on. you'd sneak glances at heeseung, trying to be as subtle as you could in your alcohol-clouded state. but, it seemed like you failed because after a while, heeseung had turned to you and asked if something was wrong.

"is everything alright?" came heeseung's concerned voice. you immediately cleared your throat, looking away as you tried to hide the embarrassment on your face.

"i, uh, was just feeling a little dizzy," was your weak excuse. heeseung gave a small 'oh'.

"you can come lie down on my shoulder, if you want," heeseung had offered.

you blinked, unsure if you heard him right. heeseung stared back at you, smiling that same sweet, boyish smile again as he tapped his shoulder as if beckoning you closer.

"alright," you muttered quietly, scooting over to where heeseung was sitting. to your surprise, heeseung maneuvered his arm around you, pulling you into his side instead as he gently pushed your head down onto his chest. your arm instinctively wrapped around his front and heeseung chuckled.

"didn't know you're clingy when you're drunk," heeseung pointed out. you groaned in disagreement, your eyes getting heavier by the second.

"i'm not drunk," you reasoned. heeseung laughed again.

"alright, princess. go to sleep and i'll wake you up when we're at your place."

your eyes shot open at the nickname, unsure how to react. eventually, the rhythmic movement of heeseung's hand moving up and down your back lulled you to sleep, the sound of his voice calling you 'princess' still lingering in your mind.

all of that brings you to the present day, roughly a week after the taxi incident.

you stand in the doorway of the main dance studio, staring at the figure in the middle of the room, his head bobbing to the music blasting from the speakers.

heeseung sees you through the mirror and he immediately turns around and greets you, his hand waving enthusiastically.

"hey!" comes heeseung's chirpy voice.

you can't help but smile at him as you step into the studio, your hands fidgeting with the straps of your backpack.

"you're here early," you observe, setting your bag down at the back of the room before walking over to him. you eye yourself through the mirror, adjusting your outfit, acutely aware of heeseung's eyes on you.

"i have a morning class to teach," heeseung points out, eyes never leaving your face.

"oh, i see," you reply, nodding as you look up at him. the two of you stare for a few seconds before you get a little too shy, your gaze shifting downwards at your shoe.

you let out a soft sound of surprise when you see your shoelaces undone, bending down to tie them. to your surprise, heeseung beats you to it and you're left dumbfounded as you straighten up, watching as heeseung ties your laces for you.

heeseung peers up at you and the angle makes your heart race. your heart rate doubles when he smiles and it triples when he places his hands on your hips as he pulls himself up, his fingers adding a little pressure against your skin. as he straightens up to his full height, his hands remain on your sides, his gaze seemingly more intense than it had been a few moments ago. heeseung licks his lips.

you swallow, your mind blanking out as you try to think of something to say.

"no," you begin shakily. "that's not weird at all."

heeseung nods, eyes shifting to the side. you realize your own arms are dangling awkwardly at your side, so you slowly bring your hands up to rest on heeseung's forearms.

"are you gonna do anything about it?" you ask, eyes looking up curiously at heeseung's face.

heeseung turns back to you, an eyebrow raised. "it?"

"your crush. are you gonna do anything about it?"

"oh," heeseung says, nodding slowly. he looks at you for a moment before he leans in, the tips of your noses brushing against each other.

not being able to take the torture any longer, your hands leave heeseung's arms and instead find purchase on the sides of his face, pulling him in to press your lips against his. heeseung sighs, his arms winding around your waist, one of his hands coming up to support the back of your neck as he tilts your head up to deepen the kiss.

"someone might catch us," you whisper against his lips. heeseung groans and silences you as he kisses you once more, his tongue slipping into your mouth.

"bathroom," says heeseung as he pulls away, leading you to the door at the corner of the studio. he pulls the door open, guiding you inside before shutting it behind you.

your back makes contact with the door as heeseung pushes you against it, his lips back on yours. you reach behind you, scrambling to lock the door, heaving a sigh of relief as you hear the satisfying click.
