Summary:

It didn’t come as a surprise when Teddy demanded to finally go to the beach. In fact, he was asking for a trip to the seaside for a while now and even though Harry wasn’t really keen on going, he was powerless when it came to his godson, and just couldn’t say no when confronted with the pleading eyes of a sad five-year-old.

There was only one little problem with the whole trip. Teddy insisted on inviting his favourite cousin, the one he reconnected with in the last year and the same one that quickly earned Teddy’s trust and love, becoming his favourite person.

Said cousin was of course none other than Draco Malfoy.

I remember each press of your fingertips against my skin in vivid detail.

You like to comment on the contrast of the dark and the light of our skin.

I can only revel in every moment that you touch me with such careful reverence.

Your love is conveyed whenever our fingers twine together as we walk.

10th Anniversary … SURE!

Draco and Harry have been a beautiful couple since they were only seventeen. They started their relationship in the midst of the war against Voldemort and they often had to put romance and dating aside in order to stay alive. But finally the war is over, the Dark Lord has been defeated and Draco would like to live their love story as a normal loving couple. The problem is that his lover is a damned and workaholic Auror.

So, it’s no surprise that during their 10th anniversary they find themselves right in the middle of a magical battle instead of at the restaurant where he had booked, right? RIGHT!!

Pairing/s: Drarry Rating: Mature Words: 14,430 Highlights: Piano Player Draco, Wand Maker Harry, Summer, Domesticity, Established Relationship, Gardens & Gardening, Classical Music, Apple Picking Warnings: Minor Character Death, Grief/Mourning, Wakes & Funerals, Panic Attacks, Hurt/Comfort Summary: His long pale fingers travelled across the keys, the sound of the piano cresting and falling, one moment soft and enticing, in the next fast and sure. The first few buttons of his white shirt were undone, revealing a pale chest and thin lines of scars; the sleeves rolled up to his elbows to reveal strong forearms, one marred by a smudge of black ink. Or in which Draco is overcome by grief, and Harry is there to keep him afloat.

Thoughts: This fic was a stunning portrayal of Draco’s journey through grief and Harry’s supporting him along the way. Their relationship was symbiotic in so many ways, and each one was a new moment that took my breath away. There were fascinating tidbits about pureblood traditions and gorgeous descriptions of magic throughout the entire story. I admit that I’m also a sucker for Draco playing an instrument and wand maker Harry, so those details didn’t hurt either. The real strength of this fic lies in the power of the emotions it conveys, both in the characters and the reader. I cried three times reading this fic, and it’s not even that I was sad, so much as just moved by feeling like I was living in the moment with the person in the scene. I can’t recommend this enough, honestly. If you give it a shot, I can’t imagine regretting it. I sure didn’t.
