Unlike most, they don't actually get bigger in their hybrid form, just bulkier. They're crude, live for a fight, and assume everyone's out to get them...but if you DO manage to befriend one they're ride-or-die for life. The often end up with orc tribes regardless of base species. It turns out that "Tusked person who likes foraging and fighting and is willing throw down for its family in an instant" always fits in just fine.
