For authors with open requests, I've sent in prompts, some of which are yet to be written but it's poor form and impolite to 'hey' someone the way it was done here so I agree with the reactions to it.

Living breathing humans are on the other side of the screen and one should never forget that. Their lives are their own and unless one lives in the same household, one can never be fully aware of just what those lives contain.

So, with that in mind, I tend to view my favorite authors as someone to whom I have mailed a letter. Not just any letter mind you. For you see, I view these authors as neighbors and friends who have set off on a perilous journey across a vast ocean aboard a ship of questionable seaworthiness and a renegade captain who may or may not also be a blackguard smuggler of contraband gin. And this journey may have taken over two months simply to reach land. Not to mention crashing waves, storms, and handsy muscular sailors of whatever gender the authors desire. And upon arrival and once securing a rugged guide and supplies, our intrepid authors have navigated a continent in search of (well, that part fails me because each person's journey is unique you know) something and throughout the days and weeks my letter containing the request must not only follow them on their adventures from place to place, it, too, must not succumb to the whims and vagaries of travel and letter inspectors who are fond of contraband hooch; whether that is through real space or cyberspace.

For just as friends and families long ago waited patiently of word from their loved ones who set off--or were taken forcibly and unwillingly--, so must we when sending in a request. When it arrives it will be a treasure to unfold, a gift from the heart, the connection that was forged through time and space.

Be grateful when a request is answered, for many such connections were forever severed and the effects long-lasting. Reach out with compassion for one can never truly know what the traveler has endured.

Here's a recipe but I've not tried making it; I only heard about them recently. There are a number of pumpkin funnel cake recipes online, but the easiest way is probably to check out your local county or state fair where fried food is in abundance and funnel cakes are EVERYWHERE. Great, now I'm craving a corn dog with mustard....

This pumpkin spice latte season, I will not be tolerating any PSL or Fall Joy slander. It's fine if you don't like them, but it's a fucking coffee drink that brings people joy. I don't care if you think it's "not real coffee", get off your high horse.
