AOT Vet Scenario: Accidentally calling them a pet name

Erwin:

Erwin called all the superior officers for an important meeting to discuss the plans for the upcoming expedition. Since you were a squad leader yourself, you obviously had to attend the meeting to know where your squad members were in the formation. Once Erwin discussed the whole formation, he ended the meeting. While all the other superior officers chatted a bit and got their stuff ready you went up to Erwin to ask him something. You weren't really in the right mind to think about your words so something you wouldn't have said slipped out of your mouth. "Hey honey, about the formation." You realized what you just said and put your hand over your mouth in embarrassment. Not only that, but all the other veterans heard you too. Hanji laughed at your antics while even Levi was rolling his eyes in amusement. Erwin nervously coughed but he managed to brush off your comment professionally. "Yes (Y/n). What about the formation?" As Erwin answered your question, the other superior officers were already out of Erwin's office. "So, (Y/n). Maybe try to keep our relationship professional in front of others?" As he said that, there was a lingering look of amusement on his face. "Yeah, sorry Erwin. That was an accident." Erwin gave you a peck on the lips as he started looking at his papers. "It's okay honey."

Levi:

Levi was really not into showing your relationship off in front of others. He didn't want his subordinates seeing him as a softie and he wanted to remain the professional authoritative captain he was. You were a pretty affectionate person so it was a bit difficult to accept it at first but you got pretty used to it. You could give all the affection you wanted to him behind doors anyway. Levi was training his squad by having them practice hand to hand combat when you saw him. You decided to just go up and say hello to see how things were going. "Hey! How are things going babe?" You were in too much of a good mood that day so the words just came out naturally. Your eyes widened at what you just said and Levi looked at you as he grumbled to himself in embarrassment. The Levi squad looked a bit surprised too. "Man, I didn't think someone as cheery as Captain (Y/n) would be with Captain Levi." Sasha said. The cadets didn't notice how long they were staring for until Levi said, "Keep staring and I won't let you take another break." The cadets automatically stopped and went back to what they were doing. As the cadets went out of earshot Levi noticed your flustered appearance. "Keep calling me babe in front of others and I'll make you clean the whole castle from top to bottom." His cheeks were slightly red and his voice sounded very shy. What a cutie.

Hanji:

Hanji loved the pet names you gave them. You loved calling them pet names and so did Hanji. Hanji wasn't as private with your relationship so everyone pretty much knew you guys were together. But since you were both squad leaders you still had to remain the professional relationship in certain settings. Hanji was doing titan experiments with Eren all day and you were assisting them as they were doing it. Well, more like keeping an eye on them so they don't get themselves hurt with their reckless actions. As much as you loved Hanji they tired you out with these experiments. It was finally time to eat dinner and you were just relieved to finally eat something after the tiring day you just had. You sat down next to Hanji who already brought some food for you on the table. Hanji thought it would be a good idea to just ramble about their experiments as you and the other veterans were eating. You didn't want to hear any more about them today cause you were just tired. "Baby, can you not talk about the experiments anymore for the rest of the day?" You didn't bother to think about your words since you were just tired but all eyes went on you when you realized what came out of your mouth. Hanji gave you a smile and said, "Oh, sorry sweetie. I didn't notice how tired you were." Hanji didn't even look a bit embarrassed but the look you had just screamed embarrassed. Mike looked at you and said, "Thanks for getting Hanji to stop talking about their experiments at least." You laughed nervously as the heat remained a little on your face. Levi drank his tea before saying, "Yeah four eyes. You need to stop talking our ears off and make sure your girlfriend doesn't get a migraine." Hanji laughed and said, "I'll take care of her. Promise." You loved your Hanji.

Shu’s Note; Hajime Isayama confirmed some of these Levi facts that were true, so he’s submissive rather than being dominant to most of the Levi HC’s that I watch. Onto the cut!

-> When you two first begin your relationship, Levi won’t be giving you physical affection right away. He’s a private man who needs space most of the time, although he truly loves you. At the same time, he wants to trust you as well. He wants to believe that you can stay safe and stay alive for him at all cost; which is why he has these trust issues.

-> At first when he fell in love with you, you’ve caught him off guard whenever you spent time with him. Levi stuttered whenever he talked to you, and he was rather soft and submissive whenever it came to you. However, it didn’t really change anything to how he treated other cadets.

-> Instead, he was rough with you. He made extra training for you, extra cleaning, just to keep you safe from harm. Due to his Ackerman instincts or because of his undying love for you, he’ll start to get attached to you slowly. Levi follows you around as if he was lost, so whenever you need something, he’ll be there.

-> Levi had to take a lot of courage so that he could confess to you, but at the same time he didn’t want to look weak or soft in front of you. He never wanted to make a commitment with you due to his horrible past, but you decided to change that. Once you confessed your feelings to him, Levi decided to give it a try to see if this relationship can work.

-> So you two are now together, in the first few days of your lovely on-going relationship with Levi. If you ever thought that he has some special pet names for you, he doesn’t. He would rather consider calling you a ‘brat’. Levi isn’t experienced with love and commitments, so don’t blame him for that.

-> Levi only likes to be alone with you in private rooms, not whenever there’s plenty of witnesses. He wants to be known as a dominant man when he’s in public, someone who is known to be humanity’s strongest soldier.

-> Whenever you two are alone, he’d love to spend some time with you. For instance, drinking tea with him. Even though he’s very busy with paperwork and expeditions, you wouldn’t mind to stop by and visit your partner, right?

-> Once Levi has accustomed himself to the relationship and knows that he can definitely trust you, here goes his love and affection. He usually starts by offering you a cup of tea every-time, slightly touching your hands or your shoulders, giving you eye contact whenever he’s far away from you.

-> Jealous? Slightly. Levi gets jealous whenever other cadets flirt or try to get touchy with you, but he doesn’t get crazy about it. Although he tenses up with frustration, he’d rather glare at them and make sure that they never get near you again than make it more chaotic. Sometimes when it gets too far, he’ll make sure to head over there as soon as possible and glare at them while he has his arm around your waist, claiming his lover.

-> If you ever compliment Levi, he’ll try to compliment you back but in an awkward attempt. ‘Hey, love! You look great today on that cape.’ Levi will respond by saying ‘Uhm..t-thanks, S/O. You look great with wearing those..boots.’ The conversation will end up so weird.

-> Even though Levi has insomnia, he’ll actually fall asleep onto your arms and get a few more hours of sleep since he feels that he’s safe whenever he’s with you. Though, it won’t mean that his nightmares will disappear from his head, so whenever he wakes up terrified just make sure to hold him close and show him that you truly love him.

-> Levi likes to take you on dates sometimes whenever he has a day off. He’d take you outside the walls, riding a horse while you’re holding onto him. He might even carry you in a bridal position with his ODM gear and take you so high up the sky just so that the moonlight could reflect the two of you together.

-> He’s very protective. Levi will make sure to keep one eye on you while an expedition is going on, meanwhile he’ll have to focus on the situation. If you ever get injured, he’ll definitely lose his cool and make sure that no titan ever touches you again. Afterwards, he’d be heartbroken that you were hurt and be on either side of the bed, waiting for you to wake up.

-> Who initiated the first kiss? Definitely him. When he had to go to an expedition that might be dangerous, he pulled you into his office and gave you a quick kiss before he had to go, telling you ‘I love you’ which rarely happens. Levi doesn’t ever say ‘I love you’ a ton, so you were definitely surprised. I’m sure that once he got back you would probably kiss him and have this conversation about ‘How well was the kiss?’

-> When it comes to the thing that he mostly loves about you, I’d say it’s mainly your eyes and hands, but other than that; everything! Levi doesn’t really care about the looks, what matters is the bonding between that person which is you. What’s important to him are the memories you make with him, the touch, the sense, the feeling. Levi only wants to be passionate and loyal to you, to devote himself to you entirely.

-> Levi only wants to be loved, and cared for. He’s suffered through so much and he wants a break for once in his lifetime. That’s why his main goal is to forget about the world for a while and rather stick with you, embracing you forever.

-> Ahh, Levi adores cuddling with you. He’s mostly the bigger spoon, but if you’re taller than him he’d be the smaller one. He loves it whenever you hold him so close to you, ruffling his hair and giving a huge amount of sweet phrases. Levi makes a conversation with you whenever you two are in this intimate moment, talking about his dreams and wishes whenever the Titans are eradicated from this world.

-> If you two are talking about marriage, it’s gonna be a short-ass conversation. Levi isn’t interested in marriage and he hates it because it’s unnecessary. He wants you to understand that he doesn’t want to make a commitment entirely with anyone. Maybe when time goes by he might change his perspective of marriage. It won’t mean that he doesn’t want to make a family with you, it’s just that he’s not ready for that.

-> Actions speak louder than words, no? Levi is more of a man who express themselves through body language than wording their own feelings. He’s pretty much quiet and will show his love to you by offering you gifts, hugging you, kissing your forehead. Whenever he has the opportunity, he gives you a bouquet of flowers each month to represent how he’s proud of you and happy that you’re still alive. Make sure you take care of those flowers. :)

-> Levi is more of a so-called housewife, despite not liking the idea of marriage. He will certainly be the one to clean the room that you secretly share with him since you sneak up just to sleep with him every now and then, but it doesn’t mean that he’ll keep cleaning and cooking for you forever. He wants you to meet his cleaning standards which will really make him happy if you ever bring in a huge amount of effort into cleaning.

-> Whenever you two have a deep conversation, he’d give you this beautiful rare smile, holding your hand and say ‘I don’t regret anything that has to do with you. I don’t regret loving you, or being in love with you at all. Remember that, brat.’

-> Levi fully trusts you completely, though it will take some time for him to reveal his whole past to you. He needs a lot of comforting and reassurance that you still adore him after everything he’s done.

(this will probably include some S4 spoilers.)

-> During the Marley arc, Levi will act differently around you eventually. After Erwin’s death that impacted him a lot, and killing those innocent people when it came to rescue Eren Yeager, It came to the point where he had to distance himself from you, maybe even break up with you. It didn’t mean that he didn’t love you, but however he began questioning his actions and thought that he doesn’t deserve you at all.

-> Nowadays, he feels tired of everything. Levi just wants to complete his promise to Erwin, including saving the rest of humanity so that he can no longer have a reason to live. Though, he still has one more reason; you. He wants to be with you desperately, open the tea-shop that he dearly wanted in memory of his fellow soldiers and the people who were considered his friends.

-> Whenever it comes to comforting Levi, make sure to read his every move although he’s pretty much unpredictable. At first it’s better to leave him alone because he wants to get his frustration out but at the same time, the man is touch-starved. He needs you so bad. Bringing him some tea, running your fingers through his hair will give him so much ease and will calm him down, but he wants to let out everything.

-> That will be the first time he ever cries in front of you. He’ll start apologizing a lot and hold your body closer to his, desperately needing your touch. In conclusion, it’s better to make him a bubble bath instead of just leaving him dirty from his crying. He wouldn’t like to cry in front of you, even get germs afterwards.

-> Levi always pays attention to your body language every single time. Whether if it’s your facial expressions, your eyes wandering around, or how you clench your hands; he’ll be watching your every move. Once he realizes that you’re uncomfortable or not in the right mood, he’ll drag you into his room and pull you in for a hug.

-> ‘Are you okay? I’ve noticed your reaction. You should know that I care about you, S/O.’

-> Once you break down and melt in his arms, Levi will be panicking. He’ll try his best to hug you, kiss you, give you everything that will make you happy. He will make sure bring you food, water, in order for you to stay hydrated. He will even read you a book so that you can fall asleep eventually, which will end your grief for today. Levi will be wiping your tears in a handkerchief and say ‘I love you, S/O.’

-> Levi will be very happy that you want to take care of him, including his injuries. After that situation with the explosion and he got badly injured, he thought that you will see him differently which hurts him enough to think about. When you reassure him and start to tend to his needs, Levi will be very happy that you still feel the same way, despite that he’s lost his eye and his two fingers.

-> Although he won’t smile anymore due to his mess up’s and losing Hange permanently, he still has hope as long as you’re by his side, supporting him at all cost.

-> ‘I’m sorry if I’m not strong enough for you anymore, S/O. You must think lowly of me.’

-> Even though Levi has now considered himself weak and useless, it doesn’t stop him to continue to protect you. He will make sure that you stay safe and protected, even if it costs his life. Levi will definitely sacrifice his life for you, in order to keep you alive and living.

-> In conclusion, your relationship with Levi is so entirely precious. Despite your up’s and down’s with him, including each other’s trauma’s getting in the way like a burden, you two still have enough hope to keep this relationship going. You’re his precious treasure, something that he will protect forever and give away his own soul just to make sure that you’re still protected. Levi loves you for you, and nothing will change that. He has no regrets of being with you, staying with you, nor even loving you. In the end, he is truly devoted and loyal to you, so getting his trust means an opportunity to make him finally happy again. Just you, and Levi Ackerman. <3

Despite how horrid the leaks sound and what we all may think about the ending, we should still thank Isayama for a wild ride and for the fact this man cemented himself as one great mangaka and caused a world wide fandom we all love and cherish.

Do NOT threaten him or his staff. Do NOT beg for a different ending and please for gods sake don’t fight for ships. Accept his vision as it is and respectfully critic his work.

There’s so much I want to say about Levi, about his courage, his loyalty, his dedication and compassion, but it’s too soon to attempt to put these feelings into words. Suffice to say, I’m glad he got the acknowledgement he deserved, from the people that mattered the most to him.
