i went into it knowing it was a sad movie, ok? i KNEW that, but figured i wouldn't find it relatable to my life, since it's set in the past, in america, and discusses religion, it's very much a culture and time i've never lived through

but man, was i wrong. going home, knowing you won't be returning. your mother taking care of you through a sickness you can't even tell her about. Adrian noticing his similarities to his brother, and the worry and care that came with that. the recording at the end.

absolutely gut wrenching, just shoot me in the chest next time. such a beatiful movie.
