I was looking at the timeline of the Untamed on the Mo Dao Zu Shi fandom website and

an image from the website for 'Mo Dao Zu Shi', showing the timeline of the web novel 'The Untamed'. the image indicates the events in the 16 years between Wei Wuxian's death and comeback. amongst them, one says '7 years prior to present day: Song Lan arrives in Yi City and becomes a puppet. I don't have a problem with soohyun, and it is obvious that gaon loved her so fucking much and that she was the most important person in himls life. However, I did not feel the romantic love that much? It could be that I went already expecting the gayness, so totally a biased view. But I felt so much that gaon felt that "he should love her romantically since she was that important to him and a man and a women can't be just friends". During his confession he says that he stayed just friends so he would not loose her, but to me he start dating her for that, to not loose the best friend that was by his side since forever
