4. make a wish

[11:58 p.m.] “I’m really bummed that I can’t be there with you, babe, but practice for the concept evaluations have really been busting our asses.” sihoon’s voice rang through the speakerphone. “it’s no big deal, I completely understand. it must be difficult preparing for that, especially since the benefit votes are insane. it’s really no problem!” you reassured him, watching the previous episode’s highlights in your living room. “it is a big deal, y/n, it’s your birthday tomorrow! or, well, in a few minutes.” you chuckled and looked at the clock, it’s 11:59 and the big hand is moving further down. “well, now it’s in less than a minute.”

“close your eyes and make a wish, y/n.” you did as he said. you wished with all your heart that you would be able to see sihoon soon. he’s brought nothing but happiness into your life, and you truly love him. “well, what did you wish for?” scoffing, you replied, “ I can’t tell you or it won’t come true.” you hear the smile in his voice as he responds, “oh yeah, try me.” sighing, you complied, “I wished that I would be able to see you soon.” just as the last syllable left your mouth, you heard your front door unlock. and in walked a smiling sihoon. pure joy lit up your face as you hopped off your sofa and into his arms, hugging him tight. he laughed and reciprocated the embrace, holding you close. he whispered in your ear, “happy birthday, my love.”

moving in with jaehyun!au

ok so it’s the summer after you two graduated from college 

and you and Jaehyun have been together for three years

so, as a graduation gift, his parents and your parents (who stan your relationship harder than the both of you tbh) bought you two an apartment

the only thing was that you and he has to pay the bills and stuff

which you were totally okay with since you guys already had jobs (career fairs are the best things on this planet)

 and what better way was there to start this new chapter in life than doing it together?

as you cleaned out your room in your parents’ house, you came across a lot of interesting tings

aka pictures of preteen you

like in one of them, you were smiling with a gap between your teeth and said missing tooth was  between your fingers

then you found your high school yearbook, which caught Jaehyun’s attention and he basically bullied you for looking like a nerd :’)

“aw babe don’t pout, you’re my nerd <3”

and somehow he figures out how to reel you back in (were you actually even irritated in the first place?)

the apartment size is perfect for the two of you

MOVING IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT AND IT TOOK YOU THREE DAYS OF DRIVING BACK AND FORTH TO YOUR AND JAEHYUN’S HOMES TO GET YOUR BOXES gdi you really hated it

but those days were worth it if you got to spend your future days with your perfect boyfriend

living with Jaehyun you learned somewhat new things about him

because you’ve been with him for so long you’ve pm seen all there was to jaehyun’s life

and by everything I MEAN everything ;)

obviously now living with each other officially added a different flair into your daily routines

you’d both have breakfast together, you now had access to more of his clothes and the best part of it all, you’d share the same bed for forever

long story short, moving in with Jaehyun was long overdue and now that it was done, you couldn’t be more grateful.

this was extremely hard to narrow down because I really,, felt like there were so many talented people. especially this time around. I sincerely wish the best to all of them, and to those eliminated, I wish to see them debut someday.

this list, in my opinion, has a good balance of visuals, vocals, rappers, and dancers. that being said, I still think it’s missing someone very important: baekjin from vine. I want to save baekjin because I think he’s extremely underrated and it’s a shame that his last stage didn’t go so well. baekjin fighting!

[4:11 p.m.] laying in bed, awoken from a nap, you turned to your side to find kunhang sitting against the bedframe, with a book in his hands. upon noticing movement next to him, he set his book down to glance at you and gently ran one of his hands through your hair. ‘did you sleep well?’ stretching a bit, you nodded and rubbed your eyes. you moved your hands to find him staring down at you, to which you said, ‘stop looking at me like I’m your everything.’ kunhang’s face softened, and a smile appeared on his face. ‘but you are my everything.’

In honor of jaehyun day, i would be blessed if u do a cute little au for him pleease (unless requests r closed; in that case pretend u have never seen this and im sorry)

the cashier gives you a weird look when you end up coming through the front door of the bakery backwards

but that’s just because you’re holding up the camera, filming jaehyun as he makes his  way toward the display case of cakes in the front

“which one should i get~”

he hums, smiling up into the lens

“nctzens know it’s my birthday - but it’s valentines day too and i want to share it with them~”

johnny, whose right beside him makes a face at the corny comment 

before delivering his own one liner about how nctzens are the only people in his hearts

you adjust the camera a bit, switching from johnny who gets distracted by all the other baked goods back to jaehyun

who has leaned down beside the case, eyeing the different samples of pretty looking cakes

he’s wearing a comfy outfit, hair freshly washed and even with minimal to no makeup he looks gorgeous

you don’t even have to edit the videos with him in it - he just glows beautifully naturally

jaehyun notices you recording and wiggles his finger at a pink frosted, strawberry cake 

“will nctzens like this one?”

you don’t say anything  - your job is to just let the boys talk and then upload the clips to youtube

but jaehyun looks past the camera this time

“which one do you think looks good?”

you’ve worked with nct for a while now, so you’re on pretty polite terms with everyone

jaehyun has always been sweet with the staff - so you think nothing of his question and motion to the coffee cake a couple of rows down

his smile widens and he says something about how he should have known you’d pick that one - you always like coffee flavored things

you give a little enthusiastic nod in agreement 

which jaehyun chuckles at before going back to the case

“i think the strawberry one will taste good and we can take photos of it for twi-”

johnny appears in the frame, throwing a hand around jaehyun

“ahhh are we getting the pretty cake for our pretty nctzens to enjoy with us!”

you take the moment to zoom in close on both of them

jaehyun looks happy and is talking to johnny with a mix of korean and english

the manager scurries over to pay for the cake and tells you to stop shooting for now

when you put the camera away, you wonder 

this is supposed to be about jaehyun’s birthday - but it kind of seems like he’s forgotten all about that

you set up a tripod in front of a table back at sm 

the table is decorated with a vase of roses and the cake jaehyun had picked out 

it looks like a promotional prop for a video about valentines day - there’s not even one mention about how it also happens to be a celebration for jaehyun

when you’re finished, you watch johnny and jaehyun come in

both still bright and chatty

taking a seat behind the table before the manger cues for you to start recording

they talk for a bit, the usual friendly banter between them 

at some point haechan and taeil show up, both taking slices of the cake to eat 

then johnny finally announces that he and jaehyun should eat some too

but jaehyun just cuts a slice for johnny, before looking toward the staff and offering them any

you take the camera off the tripod to shoot some scenes of jaehyun distributing slices of cake to various other people

they all hide their face from view - but jaehyun looks like an angel as he asks them genuinely to enjoy it

you feel like this is enough footage for you to work with, so you turn off the camera 

and are about to gather your things up to go

when jaehyun approaches you

“do you want a slice? it’s not the coffee flavored cake but -”

you thank him, but decline 

before pausing 

“oh, also - happy birthday.”

jaehyun’s eyes falter a little before he puts on a big smile

“thank you.”

you watch him turn back to the table - there’s a last slice of cake that you see jaehyun look at 

before picking it up and handing it to one of his managers

you think it’s a little disheartening that he didn’t even get one piece - and the video is supposed to be about him

the next day, you come in to edit - surprised to see jaehyun is there

this time accompanied by chenle and jisung who have their own mini-show on the channel 

you know you really shouldn’t be doing this, and that as a staff member getting close to an idol is practically a means of getting fired

but when jaehyun is alone for a second you come over and shyly drop something in his hands

it’s a bag from the bakery you all went to yesterday

you couldn’t get a whole cake, so you bought the biggest piece you could

jaehyun looks shocked - before meeting your gaze

“it’s just,,,,,i thought you should have some too - you didn’t eat any yesterday and you’re always being kind to me so -”

he looks around, scoping out any mangers or members

before leaning in close

“do you want to share it with me later?”

you feel your cheeks go red

“um jaehyun we can’t-”

but he reassures you - just meet him after you’re done shooting with the dreamies

about two hours later you find yourself in the back staircase with jaehyun - he hands you a fork and you two dig into the cake

silently enjoying the taste, till jaehyun turns to you

“ah you have some -”

he motions to his lips and you try to rub your thumb against it to get it off

but he shakes his head, coming closer to help you

but instead of bringing his hand up, jaehyun ducks his head - his soft lips brushing the side where there’s a little bit of cream

before pulling back

you stare at him - not sure how to react - not sure how to calm the sudden jump in your heartbeat

did nct’s jung jaehyun just kiss me?

he grins “that was the best present ive gotten this birthday”

and then say that?!?!
