al haitham notices, that your clumsiness reaches its maximum level when you are around him. he has no idea why but observing it is something he finds himself interested in.

you run around him all the time now that he is the acting grand sage, constantly reporting on the news and events going around while he isn't present, but when it isn't about work you become... unsteady.

every morning as he walks into the akademiya you appear out of nowhere to greet him, a pile of papers in your hand, some of them flying out from your speed and sudden stop to see the acting grand sage. and maybe his eyes do soften at the sight of you thanking every one who brought the lost papers back to you, embarrassment written on your face. you sheepishly smile at him and wish him a good day, and he nods at you.

throughout the day, you always walk by somewhere al haitham is at the moment, and the pretty smile on your face as you meet his gaze briefly makes warmth spread in his chest, though the magic of the moment gets ruined when you trip over something and nearly fall, barely managing to balance yourself. his hand stretches forwards, but stops midway, weakly falling to its place by his side, knowing he won't be able to help anyways.

he still enjoys seeing that pretty red dusting over your cheeks; he doesn't really recall ever seeing you without it, not when you are around him anyway. al haitham thinks it's adorable when you get flustered, though he doesn't understand the appeal of him holding the door for you, handing you the book from the high shelf or even just waving hello at you since those are just things he is used to doing for you.

sometimes he catches you daydreaming, chin resting on your palm as you look at the sky dreamily, a soft smile on your lips. should he disturb you? well, most of the time he needs your assistance so he has to; al haitham stares right back at you until you seem to finally notice him, eyes landing on his as you let out a soft sigh, smile stretching a little wider, before you blink and move back with a shriek. a string of apologies leaves your lips and he doesn't remember why did he even come to you in the first place.

after a while, al haitham understands the reason why you are so flustered and clumsy all the time he is around, but he also understands that he feels the same way. it's just that you are prone to these little accidents, a victim of silly circumstances, and he is just lucky enough to not give away much about how he feels.
