as i recall the expanded universe did. quite literally the exact opposite.
during like. the immediate aftermath of DW's cancellation the virgin new adventures got really dark and they made ace have sex every other story which is a bit weird in my eyes seeing as she was underage in the series (they aged her up but it still rubs me the wrong way tbh)
