Art burnout has me creating my version of the ghouls/ministry blah blah blah whatever

Era one ghouls have an odd sorta scary vibe to them that I LOVE !! ((Same with era two but that's a diff post))

Our beloved era one look like this ↓

I don't ACTUALLY know if their robes were ever red, some say it's a lighting trick but as a technician myself it's kinda hard to make black look genuinely red ?? Idk I haven't been at the job long enough to know that, ANYWAYS. The photos where they look red is what inspired this HC

There's this video game I played called brütal legend, super cool I've played it so many times over the years (I'm trying to keep this a short post but I already failed)

Right at the start there's these spooky guys ↓

They're called druids in game, but in my very tired state, I'm considering basing era one ghouls off of them because they're scary as fuck and cool as fuck

Me when I remember that making a ghoul OC means having to make lore and figure out how the ministry takes play into everything and- 💥💥💥

thinking about rain having narcolepsy (i have it) n thinking about how the other ghouls do their best to help him out, catching onto him flagging before he does, watching his body swaying from side to side n his eyes fluttering shut while they’re grabbing pillows and a blanket to get ready for him

thinking about them cuddling up with him and keeping him warm or cool, regulating his temperature. timing how long he’s been out. letting him lean on their shoulders until he’s out like a light. piggy backing him back from the lake. catching him when he passes out so he doesn’t hit the floor heavy

thinking about them mindlessly running their fingers through his hair, fingers tracing down his nose, dancing over his back, up and down his spine until he’s waking up, all groggy and mumbling about how comfy he is, how safe he feels with them

I know a lot of us here feel burnt out and sad. And I am saying this to myself as much as I am saying it to all of you. You’re worth so much more than what you can produce. You have value in this community just for being you.

And even if you can’t write or draw now, everything you’ve created in the past is still so valuable. In fact I encourage all of you to go through your fav’s writing tags and reblog something old. Maybe you’ll find something that’s new for you. Share things you’ve created in the past. They still matter!

I know there’s a lot of not great things happening and it’s stressful and sad. And yes this is corny but I think we can all find empathy and understanding with each other, we can lean on each other.

And of course take the breaks that you need, you’re always welcome back here, be it 6 days or 6 months. Don’t let the .01% that focus on numbers, or sending hate, or creating drama ruin something you love. Turn off anon if you have to. Don’t make yourself accessible to people who just want to hurt you.

eughhh,, i feel kinda bad that I've been in an odd slump creativity wise and haven't been making like, "serious" art idk ? there's pieces i really want to finish but i need actual attention span for them so i don't screw 'em up-
