I was gonna just stick this in the tags, but I think it's important to say out loud.

It snowed three, maybe four times this whole winter. At most, it stuck for a week at a time. I only had to shovel the drive once.

I live on the 40th parallel north, in the fucking Appalachians. Literally just five years ago I had to shovel nearly EVERY DAY. I have distinct memories of one Halloween, probably close to twenty years ago, when we couldn't go out Trick-or-Treating because it was SNOWING. IN OCTOBER!

it's kind of crazy climate change has occurred at such a remarkable pace that I and everyone else around my age can remember a completely different climate in our childhoods. I truly watched winter gradually disappear in my life.
