Carmilla isn't a sexy goth chick. I get why she's often portrayed that way - that's what we envision when we think 'seductive vampire' - but I think it's also a misinterpretation of her character and frankly boring as shit. Carmilla is not a goth girl. She's a primal bestial undead thing trapped in the body of a pubescent girl with long thick chestnut hair and glowing cheeks and soft doe eyes. She's not at all intimidating, at first. And the more she feeds off Laura the more lovely and delicate she appears. She hides behind a mask of frail femininity and behaves like a well-bred young victorian woman of her class, she conforms to every standard - but she's entirely inhuman + blasphemous in her existence, in her behavior and philosophy. That's what's so fucking gothic about her btw
