“(N/n) look this way for me” lilia said as he applied final touches to my face. Hours before the bells of peace rang and I couldn't be happier. “Be Careful not to smile too hard. I fear you might crack your face” lilia said as he held his own small smile. Minutes before i was to walk the ile to see my future husband,minutes before both sides will be satisfied and end this cease fire. Lilia helps me up, he insisted to walk me down to his king, and we head to the venue. Music plays with my entrance but it is drowned by my ever beating heart as I step closer and closer to something bright. 

My- no… Our wedding was supposed to be a joyous day. 

“I Malleus Draconia, take (Y/n) to be my (wife/husband/spouse) to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part" He said as his eyes softened. I smiled, his hands in mine “I (full name) take Malleus as my husband” before i could finish my white (gown/suit/dress) is covered in red. In Front of my eyes there my husband shielded me from a silver arrow which went through his shoulder. Behind came the army. A army who slayed human and fae indiscriminately dreaming all human participants traders of their kind “Your highness follow me” Lilia said as he grasp my hand “w what…but malleus” I mumbled “You need to go. The humans lied to us. You’re merely a sacrifice to their own needs” Lilia said as he dragged me along shielding me away from the slaughter. We entered a secret room which lead me to the catacombs underneath the castle. “There down the tunnel will take you outside. Run as fast as you can. I’ll hold them off” lilia said “No. wait no don’t go…w we can leave all of us. I i i can make this right my father would listen to-” my mouth was covered as lilia placed a kiss on my forehead “we will meet again. You’ll come back when the time is right.for now you need to go. Now” he said as he turned back. Leaving me in the darkness alone….

The light of the moon greeted me. My legs could hardly carry me. I have to keep running. With the moon as my guide I ran out to the forest only to feel heat. I turn to see the castle in flames. I ran back. I had to…

I woke up in my old room. Alive and well. A new attendent sat beside me. “What happened?” I asked. When the flames cooled I was found alive under the rubble. Malleus shields my body. “Did he say anything” I asked the attendant shook his head “he did speak but. I was ordered never to tell you anything. It’s best if you forget about that place. It’s cursed now” he said before leaving. 

Nightmares flooded my brain of that night. The raging flames. The death of those I loved. I couldn't bear it. So… I died of a broken heart.

Prologue: Fill the empty house

Let me mourn for one moment with all this whispering. I turned to the buzzing crowd and put on my best smile. “I like to be alone. I appreciate all who attended my grandmother’s funeral but I…like to be alone with her. For a moment” I stated my voice boomed softly over the crowd. The crowd disperse leaving alone with my grandmother who’s six feet under already. I looked down at her grave which was covered by her favorite flowers. All I could mudder was a simple I love you before returning to the party..just to show face.

A week has passed since the funeral. Even a week can’t get used to the lonely feelinging. Walking into a empty house from work with no ‘Good Evening Evee how’s work’ or ‘Oh guess what i whipped up in my good ol cauldron’ no…just the sound of the door closing behind me or the clattering of my spoon in my 5th bowl of cereal today…. “So.. you did what now” Alex asked as she sat up from my couch, Tiana looked at me with equal bewilderment “i set up a craigslist ad for a roommate” I replied “so what where the qualifications” Tiana asked “just for them to have a job and pay half of the rent” I replied “well, i wish you good luck then” Tiana said as she sits back on my recliner “Come on do you not see the issue. For one she’s using craigslist. I mean I haven't heard that name in years. And two what if you get some bozo who just using you for a cozy time” Alex listed as she stands up,nearly knocking over her coffee “look i know your grandma passed but don’t you think you need to recover. I don’t think you’re in the right mind to have new company over” Tiana asked “I’ll be fine. Besides, I want to go back as soon as I can” i smiled “I thought carol was supposed to take over your workload sense she is your partner after all” Alex stated which made my face turn sour “not much of a therapy session if you just give every kid the same advice. ‘Just take this medication and all problems will be solved’ i still don’t know how she got hired” I huffed “well… she does have a fat ass and boss is a perv so..” Tiana mumbled as she sips her tea. I rolled my eyes “so did anyone accept your ad request, i mean you must have balls of steel if you wanna stay here” Alex asked “yes three actually” i replied taking a sip of my tea “three!? How did you do that” Alex laughed “they asked if the roommate position was still open and wondered If they can move in tomorrow” i add “Tomorrow? That sounds a little rushed” Alex stated “it’ll be fine. As long as there’s people I’m fine besides aren’t you all tired of my tea parties. This solves the issue of inviting you to my house every day” I smiled “you know we don’t mind but if this makes you feel better i guess i can allow it” Alex replied “since when you became mom” Tiana asked “when she started to overwork herself!
