The way the speak just by looking is just just just just--RRAAHHHH! The acting is so incredible. Absolutely astounding. They just- they're just like UUGHH their looks just read: Aziraphale: "...What did you do?" Crowley: "...You know Angel...don't make me say it...you know..."

OOO! I love this interoperation and I can agree 100% BUT MAY I PIGGYBACK OFF THE SUICIDE PILL PORTION A LITTLE? (Am I allowed? I'm unsure. I hope I don't ruin it- OP please don't smite me Gabriel style in my sleep I'm just a guy I'm just a lad)

Would it be fair to say he was also saying, (if we took the beaker of Holy Water into account) "It took…a great deal of mental/emotional strength for me to even think about getting this holy water for you…let alone bring it to you here. But I would much rather be the one to hand you what could destroy you then have you go off on your own and get hurt. I'd rather myself be the potential cause of your demise instead of learning you got hurt, knowing I did nothing to stop it. Do you understand how much weight that puts on my heart? Knowing you might be gone at a moments notice because of me? But I care about you...so it's worth it. I can't have you getting hurt. I hear your words. I'm reading between your lines. I see what you're trying to say- I can feel it. Giving this to you now is almost like a sign to you. That now you KNOW I care. So you want to take the opportunity to see what may happen. But it's too much for me to bare. I can only pour out so much of my heart at once. I can't take all this emotional weight- this emotional whiplash. I can see how the whole "right-after-you-gave-me-a-suicide-pill-im-gonna-ask-you-out" thing is manipulative!

But I also see it as "He went through all this trouble just for me. He's opening up to me. Maybe I'm more than someone to fraternize with. Maybe he does care. Maybe now is my only chance. It's now or never."

Off topic: Do you think there was ever a moment where Aziraphale ever considered asking Crowely for Hellfire? I don't think he would- but the thought popped into my brain. How would Crowley even transport it? On like...a piece of burning wood? Maybe hellfire matchsticks? A little dragon that breaths hellfire?

I’m wedded to the interpretation that “you go too fast for me, Crowley” was a declaration of love.

Crowley chooses the moment after Aziraphale gives him something that could effectively be a suic*de pill to ask him out. (More than a little bit manipulative of him, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that was unintentional.)

Aziraphale sees all the weight of the situation and responds with a reply that fully acknowledges “I know exactly what you meant by that coded invitation, and now you know I know that. I know you love me. I’m not saying no. I can’t explicitly say yes or you’ll die a horrific death and possibly I will too, but I’m saying something that it would take an extraordinary amount of creativity for you to interpret as anything other than ‘yes, but not yet’.” (Which, because Aziraphale is brilliant, could also be interpreted by Anyone Who Might Happen to Overhear, anyone who didn’t see the look on his face, as a criticism of Crowley’s driving.)

And then Crowley’s faintest-you-could-possibly-imagine, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, hopeful fraction-of-a-smile in response.

I will go to my grave believing Aziraphale was saying “I know you’re hopelessly in love with me, and I know you’re depressed about it because you think I’ll never say it back. You matter to me so please don’t use this weapon I’ve given you on yourself. Please hold on for me because I love you too and I’m holding onto hope that someday we can be together without me having to risk losing you.* I love you too much to say I love you.”

*Incidentally, that’s what “Maybe someday we can have a picnic. Dine at the Ritz.” was about.

I saw your ask on badaziraphale takes, and, while I love defending Aziraphale and generally agree with that blog, they're not the final word when it comes to takes on Aziraphale's character (far from it!). If you have a "bad take" according to them, that doesn't make you a bad person or anything. It's good to get opinions and stuff, but don't let the fear of being problematic stop you from discussing things! You might start a discussion and learn/change your opinion after, or you might just have opinions that other people disagree with, and either is okay!

I'll never stop going on and on about Good Omens I think (your notification caught me in the middle of typing out an idea actually). I think I'd curl up and die if I did.

The Job minisode to me really shows just how much the other Angels didn't like Aziraphale(or at least the fancy Archangels didn't like him). Basing this on the fact that Aziraphale had NO idea about Jobs Trials and the bet between Satan and God until he had to go all the way back up to heaven to ask!

MURIEL KNEW and they're a 37th order scrivener! Aziraphale is much higher up in the ranks than Muriel, so he should've known SOMETHING!! Then when he went up and acted shocked and asked questions they acted as if he was stupid for not understanding something NOBODY TOLD HIM ABOUT!

It makes me feel as though whenever Aziraphale went up to Heaven to report his good deeds that they probably applauded and praised him the way a parent applauds a child's 30th scribbly drawing of the day.

For someone's sake they treat him like a nuisance. I bet you all the money I have that at least one of them wishes he would've fell (or sauntered vaguely downwards) with the other demons!

At least he can always put his full faith in Crowley. That always puts a smile on my face.

YES ABSOLUTELY

Like it makes me think of how Crowley had said "We're a team- a group! Group of the two of us. And we've spent our entire existence pretending that we're not..." and was very correct.

BUT THESE MOMENTS

- When Aziraphale kind of casually is like "Our Car"

- When he says "- technically my bookshop...but we both get PLENTY of use out of it, don't we?"

- When Aziraphale hands off the responsibility of watching the bookshop- which his now been established as THEIR BOOKSHOP- over to Crowley

- Crowley making sure to sort the books and not sell a single one and actually watch over Jim

-PROBABLY MORE IM FORGETTING

In these very moments it's an unspoken establishment of them going from separate entities who "fraternize" to a proper pair. Aziraphale feels comfortable enough to change the physical characteristics and inner workings of the Bentley because it's not just Crowley's Bentley. It's THEIR BENTLEY. Crowley is comfortable enough to just toss around Aziraphales' books willy nilly because it's not just Aziraphales books to tidy up. It's THEIR books to tidy up (or maybe it's just a little mischief). AZIRAPHALE BONDS WITH THE BENTLEY AND THE BENTLEY WANTED TO FOLLOW HIM AROUND! CROWLEY GETS ALL SNUG ON AZIRAPHALES CHAIR WHEN TALKING TO MURIEL!! AZIRAPHALE CALLS CROWLEY WHEN HES BORED, OR TO TELL HIM HOS GOOD DEEDS, OR WHEN SOMETHING IS WROONNG! CROWLEY KNOWS HIS DIFFERENT TONES OF VOICE!

Obviously we know based on the timeline they both fell in love with each other AGES ago. But after Armegedidnt, they felt comfortable enough to be within each other's space. To take up each others time. To slowly and silently converge as one instead of doing the whole opposite sides shtick.

But that scene outside when they talk of the car and the bookshop, they're finally properly acknowledging it OUT LOUD! It's absolutely a huge step for them. An ASTRONOMICAL step for them!

Phew. My brains buzzing.

Crowley stops arguing with Aziraphale about driving the car when Aziraphale tells Crowley he’ll be taking care of the bookshop. He realizes it’s a big step for them.
