monday, august 7th, 2023 | 37/100 days of productivity
today has been a pretty good monday! I got back to using the forest app at work because it really helps me avoid zoning out and losing track of what I'm working on.
today's productivity:
finished a few tasks at work
reviewed sections 4.5 and 4.5
reorganized my bookshelf
today's self-care:
did yoga after work
went on a brief walk to check the mail (emphasis on brief, it is hot outside haha)

Uni 'A' has begun! Today we were introduced to data structures, and the teacher's accent was so heavy I zoned out too many times T-T
Planning on doing a pre-read before her class so it's more of a recall session rather than learning it new.

Things I did today:
Recalled basics of C programming on a sheet of paper
Light reading on introduction to data structures
Created a new template for my digital planner

@studaxy and I had a very productive 40 minutes :D
The days ahead look bright :)

Genuinely think we should all just cut back on the things we buy, particularly commodities. Yes ideally we would all grow on own food, make our own clothes, build our own homes, etc. but a lot of us simply aren’t at that point and I think a stepping stone for that is simply buying less things we don’t need. I’m not saying you can never have a venti mocha latte or buy a new candle again. Just maybe we should try to break away from our ingrained and insatiable consumerist impulses and start doing less of that so that we, both as individuals and as a society, can eventually get to the point where can outright stop purchasing commodities especially those created from exploited labor etc. We have to break ourselves of our consumerist behaviors and mindsets if we can ever hope to destroy capitalism and build something better. And in fact buying less things feeding the capitalist system plants the seeds of revolution and is itself an act of resistance. I know that sentiment might sound silly but I mean hell that’s why boycotts work.
