Leaving the bedroom door open a crack if they have to step out. They’d hate it if their sick partner felt shut out or trapped in there. Unless their sick partner requests it closed, it’s left like that.

“Is it okay if I come in?” “I’d love that, come here.”

Binge watching shows and movies in bed all day and then discussing because that’s the only thing their sick partner is really able to do. it’s the best thing ever.

Overturning the house in search of the thermometer, finding it and ignoring the amusement in their sick partners eyes as they breathlessly take their temperature, because they know if they look, they’ll both lose it.

“I made it, is it…” “It’s nice, I like it babe, really.” “Wow, okay. Okay, good. I’m glad it’s good.”

Eating the same things or something similar to their sick partner so they feel supported.

Once aware their partner is sick, that’s the only thing on their mind while they’re away. Occasionally they’ll call their sick partner to check-in or ask them if they’d like anything while their out, trying to be productive with their thoughts, but ultimately? They’d just like to go home and be with them.

They’ve always felt protective of their partner but now that they’re sick, it’s increased tenfold.

“I wish we could’ve went.” “Hey, will go when you’re better, okay? How does that sound?” “It sounds amazing.”

Looking up their sick partner’s symptoms online then mentally bracing themselves in case a common cold situation escalates to a hospital visit, you know, a crazy curve ball like that.

“I’m being a real baby, aren’t I?” “You’re only noticing now that you’re sick? Kidding.” “Oh, as soon as I’m better, you’re gonna get it.”

Enjoying the way their sick partner’s head perks up or turns when they hear them approaching, like they couldn’t wait for them to get back from wherever they’ve gone.

“Stay with me?” “Of course, I’ll stay as long as you’d like.”

Moving whatever they’re doing into the room their sick partner is in so they can still be together. 

Making their sick partner laugh at how they linger around them. They’re bored without their partner, everything’s dull and uneventful without them.
