If you talk to the Ash Warrior leader in Ostagar, he can tell you about how he hopes that his Mabari will "survive the blood of his prey" on the scouting mission, and I think there's something about the dog becoming better at fighting/finding darkspawn as a result. So I guess Mabari can just do that lol

What do the Wardens do to Darkspwan blood that makes it possible for someone to survive and become a Grey Warden?

Cause I'm just imagining, like, a mabari pr something biting the shit out of an attacking darkspawn and accidentally performing The Joining.

this actually IS apparently something that can happen to war dogs because there’s a dog in the calling that is very distinctly described as tainted and literally “as much a grey warden” as anyone else in the party?? i have no idea how that functions. maybe the warden’s mabari’s recovery is supposed to imply that they’re the same

I have loved Dragon Age for years, so it may be a bit surprising that I've never tried any of the Mass Effect games before. But that changes tonight! I got the legendary edition on the Steam sale and I'm excited to find out what the sci-fi counterpart to my favorite franchise looks like!
