This has been weighing on me, so I'm just going to say it. I don't think dnp's makeup is that bad.

I think it looks bad in the up-close filming because it's supposed to look good with the normal camera set up, which it does. Ring lights wash out pale skin and lots of beauty youtubers wear darker foundation to offset the lights. (I'm thinking of Robert Welsh who has done lots of videos where he turns off his big lights and films on an iPhone to show the difference)

To be fair, the blending is bad. I can't defend that. But the shade itself doesn't seem that off for Dan as a light neutral/ warm. Phil is 100% very light cool and should use a different shade if he uses any, but Dan seems to be using the same one he used for DD. ( you can see him put in on about a minute into the first video)
