For the anon who asked me how I imagine the seven:

Annabeth. Legs, legs, legs for days. Sharp eyes and sharper words. Cries when animals die in movies but not people. Red or pale blue dresses. Big, lofty, voluminous curls. That baby sitter you have thats your first crush. Bites the inside of her cheek. Boxy jawline and delicate features and turns heads when walking down the street. Just wants a hug but will deny it. A golden crown and golden wings. Bruised knuckles. Blonde ambition.

Jason. Warm. A golden meadow in the sun. Rosy cheeks. Typecast as Prince Charming, the Quarterback, the Homecoming King. The proverbial son. Everyone’s crush. Can make the perfect paper airplane. A certain air of sadness. The perfect part to his hair. Accidentally shocks everyone. Fuzzy socks. Tall and athletic. Carries his golden retrievers in his arms. Knows he’s seen as perfect and hates it.

Hazel. Small and sprite-like. Tucked beneath chins when hugged. The little birds that sing in trees. Big eyes. Can’t hold a grudge against a friend to save her life. Tight, springy, corkscrew curls that just barely brush her shoulders like a dark, dense cloud. Puts her hands on her friends’ cheeks. A smile that could light up a room. Beautiful, warm, brown.

Leo. A mop of curls thats always blown back. Short. Tells jokes to cover the pain. Long thin fingers that are covered in cuts and bruises. Fireworks in the street at midnight. Shirts with the sleeves rolled up. A smile that says he will set something on fire. Accidentally explodes the microwave. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Unrequited love. Jumps into hugs. Likes making other people laugh. Sticks his tongue out in arguments.

Percy. A trouble maker smile. A daring smirk. The feeling you get when the roller coaster drops. Blasting Queen with the car windows rolled down. Late night city walks. Killer hair, dark and thick and tousled. A sharp jaw that clenches. Ducking beneath doorframes. Hugging your mom. The ocean during a storm. Twirling a baseball bat. A school uniform with an untucked shirt, a loose tie. Spontaneous slow dances. Baking cookies in the middle of the night.

Piper. Willowy. Average height that may be considered on the tall side if she weren’t surrounded by tall people. Snorts when she laughs. Hair that she cut herself at 2 in the morning. Different colored nail polish on every finger. Fantasy books. Songs with heavy bass. Scraped knees and elbows. Doesn’t like to wear revealing clothes. Poprocks. A smile that holds a secret. Sunset orange is her favorite color. 

Frank. A teddybear. A round, joyful face. Is genuine when he says “Good game.” Makes the tough calls when asked for it. Early morning practice. Smiles at babies. Hoodies, hoodies, hoodies. Rubbing the back of your neck. Always is the shoulder to cry on. Hitting the bullseye every time. Snow ball fights. Definitely has turned into a dog to feel the pure joy of sticking his head out a car window. 

In all these instances, Annabeth is going through a terribly stressful situation, and she’s not afraid to admit that she wants Percy to hold her. The only time Annabeth lets herself be truly vulnerable, and feels truly safe, is when she is in Percy’s arms.

She craves to be held by him. And that doesn’t mean she’s weak, or that he’s stronger than her, or that she relies on him to take care of her. It just means that for the first time in her life, she has a pair of arms to collapse into when she’s scared or upset. And yes, she absolutely does the same for Percy and takes care of him too, but it’s slightly different. Percy has always had his mom to love him and take care of him and hold him. Annabeth, however, had to put walls up at a young age. She learned to never rely on anybody else for safety or comfort, because she never consistently had someone loving her or taking care of her.

But now that she has that, it’s not a surprise that she yearns for his affection. Annabeth is touch-starved in a way that Percy isn’t. And she never feels more loved or more safe than she does when he is holding her. And I don’t know about you guys, but I am so happy that she has that now. Annabeth Chase is a warm, sensitive, and emotional character. And when those parts of her shine through, I think it makes her one of the most realistic characters.

For some reason, I feel like people think that Annabeth, and other female characters, have to be cold and insensitive in order to be strong. But I think that couldn’t be further from the truth! Allowing yourself to be vulnerable takes the utmost strength. Love and trust, and having someone by your side, makes people stronger, not weaker. I personally love that Annabeth lets herself be loved and comforted by her partner. Because she can be “the little spoon” and still be completely his equal. Wanting to be held and taken care of does not make someone lesser or weaker. It makes them human. (And it goes the same with men and all genders). It makes Annabeth one of the most relatable and realistic people in the series, and I love that Rick shows that side of her.

Annabeth Chase is a remarkably strong, fierce, legendary female warrior. She also craves to be held by her loving boyfriend. And those are not conflicting statements.

He taught Leo how to tie a tie.

He likes classic music. Like, if you can call it 'classic' in any way, shape or form, he likes it. (classical piano, classic rock, etc.)

Reyna was his first kiss because they kissed just to say they had done it.

Chronic headaches. No arguing.

He and Reyna mildly abused the position of praetor to get Octavian to shut up.

He's asexual for sure, possibly biromantic. Maybe demiromantic, but I couldn't tell you for certain.

His favorite Taylor Swift era is 1989, favorite song is New Romantics.

He was scared of ducks when he was like, five.

5SOS, One Direction, and OneRepublic. That's it.

ignoring ToA- he, Piper, and Leo all went to a Conan Gray concert because Piper somehow got great tickets for dirt cheap and she wanted one last hurrah before she moved to Oklahoma.

He has to wear an ankle brace sometimes because he broke it when he was like, 14 and it got better, but it hurts when he gets really stressed.

He would've loved Renegades by Marissa Meyer.

His favorite gift he ever got was from Leo for his birthday. It was a snow globe and it had Festus, with lightning bolts shooting everywhere and when you shook it, the bolts flashed.

His favorite flowers are lilies and yellow roses.

He hates gummy bears and gummy worms.

He has dyscalculia rather than dyslexia.

He owns like, five HydroFlasks.

He's the friend who says "Hydrate or diedrate." but then needs to be reminded of that himself.
