After the death of his mom, Casey is hit with the sudden feeling of not belonging. He knows his mother was the only real family he had and now she’s gone. Who is he without her?

April is there to show him that he’s not alone. He doesn’t have to be related to the turtles to be Hamato. Hamato is a clan and a people and a family and they will always be with him no matter what. Cassandra may be gone from this world, but Casey will never truly be without her.

A similar scene happens after they defeat the Krang. April and Splinter catch up to Casey in the ruins, the teen clutching onto Leo’s sword. Just like when he was younger and grieving his mother, he tells April that he feels lost. And just like Commander O’Neil did, April reassured Casey that he’s a part of their family. It doesn’t matter what world he’s in or how far he’s strayed in the timeline, he will always be Hamato.

I had this idea ever since I watched the movie and I couldn’t get it out of my head so here you go-

April is the honorary sister and I don’t see enough of her being emotionally vulnerable with the boys. I NEED MORE APRIL APPRECIATION IN THIS FANDOM

In the spirit of the spooky month, I made this with my fav trio! I really loved the dynamic between these three in that episode, you got the skeptic Leo, the Scaredy Mikey, and the adrenaline junkie April. I was also inspired by a tweet of someone saying it’d be funny if they formed a sort of urban mythbusting team going around and exploring these “haunted” locations all over the city 👀
