crowley and his sunglasses is such a beautiful way to represent him and how he's feeling. he wears the sunglasses not only to hide his eyes from humans bit also to hide himself and his true feelings from the world. it's a physical representation of crowley's walls and his need to hide. he almost never took off his sunglasses in season one BUT in season 2, he leaves them off most of the time he's with Aziraphale. he's opening himself up to him and when in episode 6 crowley gives his confession and aziraphale shuts him down and says "nothing lasts forever" crowley puts them back on because he opened himself up, he tried to say what he wanted to say and it wasn't enough. i think in season 3, it'll be awhile before he takes them back off again.

will be listening to absolutely NO fourth wing hate or criticism, sorry. it's actually perfect and it possesses not a single flaw.

Desperately need long haired Crowley to come back in s3 but not "pretty Covergirl" long hair. I need "it's been 3 years since he left and I haven't had the energy to cut it or brush it" i need long haired bedhead Crowley wearing smudged eyeliner still drunk from last night. I want him to fall apart, to finally let go of the suave mask he always wears pretending to be fine.

Thinking About This Moment. For Just A Split Second, Aziraphale Grabs Him And Gives In, Before Pulling

thinking about this moment. for just a split second, aziraphale grabs him and gives in, before pulling away. you can see it in both their faces that they've both secretly wanted this for so long, but neither of them wanted it to happen this way. to be under these circumstances, but it happened and there's a joy in that mixed in with the overwhelming despair that they've been pulled apart and they may never get it ever again. sobbing.

i've been thinking a lot about how neil gaiman has said that season 3 will be based on an unpublished sequel to the original book. i can't stop wondering if that means that he and terry pratchett had always planned for crowley and aziraphale to be romantically involved. because their dynamic was different in the book, and i felt it was more of an "unlikely friendship" story rather than "secretly pining for 6,000 years" like it is in the show. whether it was originally planned or not, i'm obviously very happy that neil chose to take it in that direction for season two, but i can't help but be curious about it, especially since the book was originally published in 1990 and obviously it was a different time where having queer representation like that was rare.
