3rd pov

Midorima was running through the rain. Takao had held him up way too long after school. And now he was late for the bus. Just a few more steps and he would reach his stop. After school it had suddenly started to pour buckets.

'And oha Asa said cancer was supposed to have the great luck today,' the boy thought. When Midorima reached the bus stop, he sighed relieved and went under the protecting roof.

Finally the bus arrived and he quickly got in, only to realize it was packed with people. So he was left standing. He looked around bored.

And then he saw her.

 A tiny girl with (h/c) hair standing in a corner of the bus not far away from him. She was shivering from how wet her school uniform's blouse was. At every curve the bus took, she got pushed around by the mass of people, and she didn't seem to feel comfortable at all, with all the others touching her.

Everytime someone brushed against her, she would quietly apologize and press herself further into the corner.

Midorima didn't know why, but at that moment he suddenly felt the urge to protect her, and his body simply moved into her direction on its own. He pushed through the crowd and stood in front of her, shirming her from the people. He took off his jacket and placed it around her shoulders. She looked up at him in confusion. When she did, he could see her beautiful (e/c) eyes and lost himself in them.

"You looked cold. May I help you? My name is Midorima Shintaro, nanodayo," he then said. She just looked at him with big eyes.

"(y/n)," the girl quietly told Midorima, still staring into his.

Then the bus rounded a corner and the teenager would have slammed into her if he hadn't caught himself with his arms on either side of her head. Their faces were so close. He caught her smell and inhaled it unconsciously. Both of their faces flushed red and he quickly pulled away.

"S..Sorry, I apologize," he stammered.

"It's okay, thank you for helping me out Midorima-kun," she calmed him. Then she smiled and everything around him stopped. The only thing Midorima saw in that moment was the movement of her lips curving upwards, closing her eyes.

How much he wanted to kiss her right now...

But then the doors opened and she looked at him with an apologizing face:" Sorry, but I really have to get out now ", she told him.

He watched her leave the bus, already missing her touch.

When the doors closed he watched the landscape outside the window fly by and thought about going back. She would probably be far away by now but he couldn't help but like the idea.

When the doors opened again he burst outside and began running.He didn't care about the rain. All he felt was the floor flying underneath his feet and the sound of his breathing. In that moment he was grateful for his years of training. Even though the bus stops weren't that far from each other it still got quite heavy with all of his stuff.

He finally saw the busstop and felt quite the disappointment, when you weren't there. He should have known that this was a stupid idea. Wasn't he smarter than this? Of course you wouldn't stay here in the rain.

He pushed his glasses up his nose and  was about to walk away to make his way home when he suddenly heard a small whimper.

He looked around and saw a dark alleyway. Inside of it was (y/n), surrounded by some guys that seemed quite drunk. One of them was standing behind her holding her small arms while she was just looking down on the floor, squeezing her eyes shut. Midorima angrily started to make his way over and heard them talking. "Hey Girl, just give us some money. You must pay us for looking like that. Or perhaps you could also pay us with that delicate body of yours, hmmm?", one of them asked smirking disgustingly at the already totally scared girl. He then grabbed her chin and tilted it upwards to kiss her.

He never got the chance to, because at that moment a leg collided with his side and he was thrown back a few meters. The other guys were just looking at their boss dumbly and then at the attacker. Midorima stood there calmly waiting for any of them to try and hit him, but instead they had scared looks on their faces. "Let her go!", he said dangerously slow. Around him was a deadly aura and the guys quickly shoved you in his direction and ran away, taking their leader with them in the process.

Midorimas pov

I prevented (y/n) from falling, after she was shoved and pulled her into me. Immediately her arms went around my waist and she started sobbing into my chest. I hugged her back and held her in my arms, pressing her body against mine.

A few minutes later she pulled away. A soft "thank you", left her lips. She started gathering her stuff, lying on the wet floor. I helped her quickly.

Both of us went to grab a textbook and our hands brushed against each other. Her face flushed a little but we didn't say anything. When we finished, she slung her bag over her shoulder and I noticed some red marks on her wrists. It was where the one guy had held her. I took her hands in mine to examine them and she hissed, when I touched the red skin. I furrowed my brows. "How about you come to my place to warm up for a bit and to get something for my wrists? My house is right around the corner", she asked and I gladly took the offer.

Her house was quite small but very comfortable at the same time. Her parents weren't at home so she made us some tea.

I wrapped her wrists with some bandages. Then I got closer to her. "You know... Before in the bus I didn't do something and now I regret that. May I do it now?" I asked and stared at her intensely. She lifted her head and again we were staring into each other's eyes. "What did you want to do, midorima-san?", she questioned not breaking eye contact. "This", I said and closed the distance between us till our lips met. "Also please call me shintarou from now on"

So again Oha Asa was right, cancer really had the great luck today.

-"Alright that's number thirty," you told Ayato as he stopped swimming his lanes. He grinned and moved towards the edge of the big indoor pool of Sakamaki mansion. You were sitting a good distance away and watched the crystal-clear water in the pool splash as he pulled himself out.

-He had asked you to count his lanes and stop his time while he was training and you,  being the good girlfriend you were, had of course agreed. There was however one problem.

-You were afraid of water.

-It had started when you were six. While playing around in the woods your sibling had accidently pushed you into a lake. They really didn't mean to but it still happened. You didn't know how to swim and so you had cried for help and trashed around in panic.

-But it had been no use as your body sunk deeper and deeper until everything went dark.

-Your parents must have been alerted by you sibling because when you woke up you were in a hospital. Since that day you had an overwhelming fear of water.

-You had never taken swim lessons or anything of the sort so with time your fear had only increased. It had resulted in panic attacks, when you tried going into water deeper than your ankles. So at some point you just accepted that it was now a part of you.

-"So now that I've completed my training why don't you come over here and give Ore-sama his reward, babe" Ayato drawled and flashed you a teasing smirk. He did deserve this, there was no doubt in Ayatos view.

-He was sure that you would easily comply as you did most of the time. So when you declined his request with a forced, somehow uncomfortable smile his one eyebrow shot up in question.

- You had never told him about your fear of water. To afraid that he would use it against you when you didn't know him very well back in the earlier states of your relationship. Heck, you were convinced he would still make fun of it... So you just tried getting out of the situation as subtle as possible. Because depending on his mood he would find some sadistic punishment if you refused too much and he found out.

-"Sure, come here and I'll give you the best reward you could ask for... " you said, hoping it would make him get out of the water if you agreed to a part of his request.

- Ayato wasn't pleased by your reply. He asked you to come to him and not the other way around. You were his prey and as such you had to listen to him. Who did you think you were to defy his orders?

-"Are you defying your master? I said come here!" he said, his tone now slightly agitated.

-Your eyes widened a little. You had not meant to make him angry. If anything this made your position in this situation worse. Your thoughts ran wild as you tried to come up with a solution.

-"I will, of course! But it's so much more comfortable for us here than in that cold water. You know what, why don't you come to the bench over here?"

You didn't have the time to finish bracing yourself as he got out of the pool and came to a stop directly in front of you in his vampire speed. It happened so fast you didn't know what was happening. In a flash his one hand wrapped around your waist and the other pulled at your hand.

-He had you pinned against his chest and started to lean towards you. You already anticipated his fangs to sink into you neck and closed your eyes. Your plan to get him out of the water had succeeded.

-But then his mouth stopped at your ear.

-"So you think you can order Ore-sama around and get a reward afterwards, huh?"

- The question was asked in a low dangerous voice. It was the kind of voice that made you freeze and open your eyes again in fear. His head was now directly over your shoulder.

-"It doesn't work that way, baby! Looks like I have to punish you so you'll know your place again, "he said and scooped you up into a princess-carry.

-Your eyes widened in horror as you realized what he was going to do. Instantly you looked towards the pool and then his face in fear.

-He smirked. You sure were a smart girl... But it seemed not smart enough to know not to defy him. He watched your eyes beg him not to do it. But there was something in them he couldn't quite place. He decided to ignore it.

-As he didn't care about the way your hands desperately tried to hold onto his shoulders he just kept walking towards the pool in an antagonizingly slow pace.

-You knew he was going to throw you in so you tried everything to get out of his hold. Squirming didn't work and neither did trying to persuade him.

-The edge of the pool came closer and with it your fear rose. The panic and feelings from back then came to you. No, not again!

-"Ayato, pleas- Ahh!"

-He had ignored your desperate pleading and thrown you in.

-The moment you hit the water you were in another time. This wasn't Sakamaki manor anymore. You were living that fateful day again. 

-Just like back then you struggled and trashed around trying desperately to keep your head over water. Screams of fear and pleas for help left your lips but it was nothing or nobody there.

-You were sinking further and further into the cold of the lake of your past.

-Ayato stood at the edge of the pool in smug satisfaction. But this emotion quickly turned into confusion as he watched you struggle and cry for help.

-His eyes widened just as yours had done moments ago.

-Fuck! Couldn't you swim? He saw one of your hands break through the surface, stretched in a final cry for help. Then suddenly he felt like he was thrown into the past as well.

-You cried the same way he did when Cordelia had left him in the lake when he had no idea how to swim.

-As realization dawned on him he was already jumping back into the pool. He dove under and saw your figure sink deeper and deeper towards the ground.

-He swam towards you and even though it could have only been a few seconds with his vampire powers itseemed like minutes till he reached you.

-Your eyes were closed and it seemed like you were sleeping. Your expression with your hair floating around your head seemed almost peaceful but he knew better.

-As he pulled you into him, one hand around your waist the other behind your head, he connected your lips to give you air through his mouth. It worked and your eyes started to open. But as soon as realization hit you, you started to struggle in his arms.

-Of course you couldn't struggle against his vampire strength but you were still in panic and trashing around.

-He realized you wouldn't calm down until you were out of the water and started bringing you towards the surface breaking through it moments later.

-He was quick to get you towards the edge and sit you down on it. Then he pulled himself out and into a seating position with you immediately secured in his lap.

-His arms went around you again and you cried into his chest.

-When you started to hyperventilate he knew he had to do something. He tilted up your head and locked his poison green ones onto yours that were still closed.

-"Shh, it's okay. I'm here, you're not in the water anymore. Look, I got you!" he cooed and in that moment he didn't care about his image for once. The only thing that mattered was making you feel save. Making you that the nightmare of your past was over.

-Slowly you started to calm down. Ayatos strong arms were around you keeping you save from harm. His eyes stared at you attentively to pick up any sign that you would start crying again.

-After what felt like hours your arms went around his neck to return the hug. He sighed relived and pulled you incredibly closer.

-And as he connected his lips with yours he swore to himself he would never ever let you go through that again.
