This makes sense, but I don’t understand was how Marinette’s trauma of Chat Blanc that was affecting her in season 4 isn’t showing up again in any way when she realizes she’s falling in love with Chat Noir.

I can’t get over how complicated their relationship is and how they described in this season.

Marinette is struggling to cope with having the miracle box stolen from her. Sadly, she sees that her love for Adrien caused her to make a devastating mistake. However, can she be blamed for putting trust into somebody who was convincingly coming off as Adrien? So when she was at her lowest point her partner Chat Noir gave her comfort and devotion after she believed nobody owes it to her. This is the first time she was truly emotionally vulnerable to Chat Noir, opening herself up to Chat Noir in a way she never had before. This complicates her feelings for Chat Noir and Adrien.

Chat Noir now makes sense! He will always be there to help her and wouldn’t judge her. He also has been expressing his love for her since they met. He is the easier choice for her.

However, just as Ladybug feel in love with Chat Noir for being there at her lowest, Adrien has done the same with Marinette. Adrien spent his whole life having his opinion be unimportant and unheard, when he is affected by Risk he did the unthinkable: express his true feelings about his life to Marinette. Marinette uplifts his voice and gave him the encouragement he so desperately needed. This ends up complicating his feelings for Marinette and Ladybug.

How could he have not seen Marinette in that way before! He had felt a change in their relationship after a shared kissed, but was never able to process it without his newfound realization! Marinette brings a lot of comfort to Adrien as he struggles with an abusive and ever changing household.

So now Adrien and Marinette move on from their old loves and indulge in the possibility of new romance. Both feeling comfort and security from their new respective crush. However, now Chat Noir is exclaiming how much he loves his friendship with Ladybug and Marinette is avoiding/dismissing Adrien’s advances.

So when they struggled with bringing a new light to their previous relationship the solution seemed obvious! Why doesn’t Chat Noir and Marinette date? They are both elated and act on the bliss they craved for so long.

But Chat Noir is reminded of his role and power dynamic he could have over Marinette. He is frightened to take advantage of it. We see how people throw themselves at him both as Chat Noir and Adrien. He also is reaffirmed in this fear after Marinette declared to stop having feelings for Adrien. It would be wrong for him to do this to her so he tells her just that.

Marinette who never can catch a break just wants the boy she likes to like her back! She finally had it and it was immediately taken from her. Unbeknownst to Chat Noir, there is no power dynamic that he is taking advantage because she is Ladybug! They are at equal levels and she knows what she wants and him doubting her hurts and angers her.

While we end with them understanding each’s perspective, they are both left hurt of loosing the opportunity to be happy together. And now Monarch knows Chat Noir and Marinette have feelings for one another and will use that to hurt them to get to Ladybug.

We better be getting more Gency content for Overwatch 2. They can't build us up then give us none in the second game.

Yeah?.. mind elaborating? 

It's taken us seven years, but we finally got an Adrien that stutters around Marinette and. It. Is. Glorious!!!

There was something I wanted to clarify about Princess Peach which I felt was important. 

She has had different adaptations. Different tempers. Different playable roles. All of them valid. But there is one element that I’ve always been able to identify in her, and which (to me) has always been her biggest, most essential quality. 

Her kindness.

The way I personally view her, she may be a bit of an idealist, but she is a resolute and unfaltering diplomat first and foremost. Always seeking peace and mutual understanding. Always willing to make compromises and find common grounds no matter what. And there is nothing she wouldn’t do for her dear subjects, including putting her own self in peril in order to protect them. 

I wanted to draw something that could properly illustrate this vision that I have of her character, and I thought interesting to revisit the kidnapping narrative to turn it into a voluntary surrender on her part. Accepting Bowser’s terms and essentially letting herself be captured, so that her people could be spared.

Because this, to me, is what a great leader is. One who relentlessly puts others before themselves and wouldn’t hesitate to take risks for them, because they love and value others’ lives more than their own. 

And Peach is a wonderful Monarch. 💜🙏
