First, I’m glad we actually see how Shirou used to have fire nightmares all the time as a kid and even now. That’s a bit of his trauma i don’t recall the UBW anime mentioning.

This artist draws tiny Shirou so cute i really cant handle this. look at my cute son.

I bet the Avalon induced sword dreams were a real relief to kid Shirou suffering from constant traumatic fire dreams. In a way you could say this is one more way Saber saved him :’)

One of the few moments Shirou and Taiga’s close bond is highlighted in a non comedic sense; she can tell he had a bad night and checks up on him.

A timeline! The VN may have made this clear but I’ve forgotten. Kiritsugu didn’t start going on his long trips for 2 years. He had to stay and deal with Shirou’s trauma.

“Im going on an adventure! ;D” Kiritsugu then went and left his tiny traumatized adopted son alone for 6 months at a time while nearly freezing to death in the woods of Germany, unable to use any magic, trying and failing to reach his daughter only to come home to his son and tell him cool stories about the adventures he hadn’t actually been on. You’re such a mess Kerry.

Seriously, tiny Shirou thinks he’s off doing cool! story worthy stuff!! and Kiritsugu’s just sobbing and wandering around in the woods trying to reach Illya who has been told he abandoned her for another kid and doesn’t give a damn about her this is so fucked up.
