Honestly the most regrettable thing about TID is that Cecily is only in one book.

Thinking about how Christopher’s death was essentially a punishment for Grace since everyone else got their happy paired-up ending (cause for Matthew not being paired up is the happy ending). Like obviously there is so much more to Kit as a character and how his death affected everyone else, but in light of how happy endings usually look in CCs books it’s worth pointing out that the one character who is hated by large parts of the fandom and has committed an offence that would by many be considered to be irredeemable was robbed of it.

I'm rereading Chain of Gold (and TLH as a whole) and rip this scene will always be famous
